  1. Below average (McK) > Terrible (A.Williams). McKelvin has this advantage: He is able to stay in the area of the receiver and appear to be covering him. True, if the QB actually throws the ball there, McKelvin is unlikely to break it up. However, his relatively close coverage may cause the QB to hesitate or check down instead of throwing the ball, because he may not always realize that the "coverage" is partly an illusion. Compare that to a CB who is badly out of position; the QB sees green space around the receiver, or a Bills player actually running the wrong way, and throws immediately for a reception.
  2. He looked unconscious to me too. So he gets a pass on that fumble. I like FJ a lot and hope he is ok. CJ should be the starter... for the same reason I wanted Fred as the starter last year: CJ is playing like the #1 RB in the league. Having said that I want Fred to make a full and fast recovery and hopefully not miss Thursday. If diagnosed with concussion though, team needs to rest him on Thursday.
  3. Positive: Improved draft position. Negative: We lost again.
  4. And turnovers if you didn't notice.
  5. Watched any Bills games since 2000?
  6. Now I know I am watching a Buffalo Bills game.
  7. He believes you need to be able to cover receivers man-to-man in order to blitz. So now you know what he thinks about our back seven.
  8. The Bills are demonstrating that they know ALL the ways you can lose a game.
  9. McKelvin looking better than A.Williams so far today.
  10. Beginning to feel like this will be another in a long line of Buffalo sports screwjobs. It will need a name. Suggestions?
  11. To everyone who complained earlier in the season that Fred had hit the wall: he was playing with an injured knee. He looks a lot better now than in the games before the bye. Of course CJ is faster and looks great but it is good to have Fred back to form.
  12. So, Ralph is actually interfering with the defensive calls? Or mandating that they hire Dave Wannstedt because he's heard of him? There hasn't been any substantive change in our defense since 2000? Tom Donohue and Buddy Nix are the same guy who make the same kinds of decisions? Hiring Mario Williams for $100M is a typical Ralph move? I understand how Ralph has caused the franchise problems in past years, but I am just not seeing his fingerprints on our current malaise.
  13. 1 Stadium 2 Ralph's health 3 Small corporate sponsor base 4 Low median income in area to support PSLs and other revenue 5 Shrinking population
  14. So, a new field would cost less than his contract, right?
  15. How convenient: the bye week is next week. See you in 2 weeks. Have a nice leave.
  16. Maybe we should highlight who played well, instead of who failed. Here's my list: Fred Jackson, CJ Spiller, Brad Smith, Leodis McKelvin. No one else comes to mind, although Gilmore might have done OK, I do not remember him getting burned.
  17. So that means F the league office that insists we have to play another 9 games? If it is any consolation, one is in Toronto.
  18. He looks healthier today than the last 2 weeks.
  19. I would have gone for 2. Don't care what the 'card' says.
  20. We need to give up a few more yards on 2nd down so we can stay out of 3rd and long. Opponents convert nearly 100% in 3rd and 8-10.
  21. Let's not forget that Arizona has had major pass protection issues in the last few weeks. Which is hopefully good for us today, but doesn't mean our defense is back to expectations.
