  1. I herd that Kelly owned a club where Bills could go and not get into any 'trouble'. Pretty much there was a section where it was 'anything goes'. It was a private area so nobody found out what happened. Unfortunatly, it is harder to keep these private areas private. Ask the Vikings what happens when you charter a boat in attempt to let players have a good time away from prying eyes. Famous people just cannot trust anyone anymore. If someone sees a n NFL player doing anything wrong, it gets posted on a site like this and explodes. A guy sends an IM to a friend and 4 hours later channel 2 is doing a news article about how Ralph Wilson is not dead. Modrak has some drinks in the airport and 50 people are disecting every word. There is an incident in a club in Cleveland and, 24 hours before he is even charged, hundreds of people have already decided, in thier own mind, what happened.
  2. There have been a buch of recent Mock Drafts that have him available at the 42th pick. If he is there at 42, I think the Bills take him. They were not afraid of Hardy last year and Pettigrew is the type of TE the Bills say they want. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2009/4/12/...-nfl-mock-draft http://www.nfldraftsite.com/index.htm http://www.nfl.com/draft/story?id=09000d5d...mp;confirm=true (I did a quick google search so I would not get flamed, again, for saying Pettigrew could fall to the second round - most experts do have him going to either Philly or Atlanta in Round 1)
  3. This has to be Marv's most misinterpreted phrase. He meant ‘football’ character. Guys who not only had talent, but the desire to win and the ‘character’ to overcome adversity. Marv wanted players who would not give up when things got bad, that is a form of character. Marv’s teams had their share of choirboys, but most of the players were just as bad as the ones we have now. Marv’s time as HC was pre-information age so every rumor was not instantly broadcast around the world, making it easier to contain the story. This is not a growing trend, we just hear about it more.
  4. Coy Wire's 40 time was a 4.5. This guy has a 4.8. Sounds like a slow Coy Wire to me.
  5. ? 1st Nickle Corner/Kick returner 2nd WR, #4 on the depth chart 3rd DE who was not even activated for 9 games and finished the season with 3 tackles 4th Corner who will fight for the dime position 4th a 247 lb, blocking tight end 5th a LB that was on IR 6th a HB that was activated for 2 games 7th a Tackle that played 0 downs 7th a WR with 2 TDs as a rookie - so far the best 'value' pick of the Bill's '08 draft 7th another corner, did not make the team In a few years we may say that he did an excellent job. Right now, we do not know if any of these players are even starters in the NFL.
  6. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 | 12:00 AM Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com says that while the Bills have needs at WR they may look to CB in the 1st rd. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8078b355 I think he predicted the Bills would take Lynch in '07. As an employee of the Bills, I think his track record is pretty good.
  7. No, none of them were looking at TSW. I have never talked with anyone (famous or not) who has admitted to looking at TSW. USC's pro-day was 4 days after the rumor about Wilson. They were probably laughing at the kind of idiots we are. FWIW, what do you do when you are sitting in the airport waiting for a flight? I bust out my laptop and surf the web, why can't a scout.
  8. I have met and talked with some NFL people. I have met famous people in airports. Your post is consistiant with experiences I have had. I believe that you met and talked with Modrak. All of these guys getting text messeges from sources deep within. They are liars and narcissists.
  9. Someone with a large amount of time on thier hands, there are many of them out there, should look at the actual amount of money Ralph has paid to players over the past 10 years and compair that to the actual amount of money other teams have paid out to players in the past 10 years. I do not think Ralph spends much less than other owners. I think he spends it in the wrong places.
  10. To bad we might not have either. Schobel may never return to his pro-bowl form for an entire season, and I do not think the Bills will draft DL on the 1st day.
  11. Goodell is going to go easy on Lynch. Weed is what keeps Ralph alive. Ralph has a perscription, he just sent Lynch to the 'pharmacy' and things got a little out of hand.
  12. Maybe he is in town. Atica is in Western New York.
  13. If the Bills moved to Niagara Falls, they could keep the name "Buffalo Bills"
  14. Kelly completely avoided Buffalo for 2 years. There were times when Kelly was a liability. Kelly grew out of it.
  15. There was a time when 'stupid' and 'immature' were labels that fit Jimbo.
  16. TO gets a pre-season game every other year. In 2009, TO has only one Bills game.
  17. Before they pass on another player and give Millions to the kid, they want to be sure he won't turn into Vince Young. The underlying issues that caused Vince Young to wig-out were originally 'none of the titans' business' and had 'nothing to do with his performance on the field'.
  18. The Bills will need that $ to re-sign Peters, or all of the 1st round picks they expect to get when they trade him. I do not understand how the Bills can be so close to the actual cap with the cash-to-the-cap structure. Overdorf should have been kicked out of the inner circle before Butler left. Get someone from the Redskin's mailroom to manage our cap.
  19. At least one out of every 10 mock drafts show Pettigrew available at the 42nd pick, including the one that started this thread. He is a blocking TE. He could fall into the 2nd round. I'm not saying he will be available at 42. I'm just saying that some people predict he will fall and we cannot say he will not be available at 42. If the internet was around in '88, you guys would probably flame someone for suggesting Thurman could be available at the 40th pick. fwiw, 7 of those 10 'experts said Devin Thomas was the #1 WR.
  20. #1 or not, a TE is not always picked in the 1st round. How do we know who is 'the consensus no. 1'? In '08, How many 'experts' predicted Donnie Avery would go before Devin Thomas?
  21. That's what people said about Hardy in Round 2 last year. I'm not saying Pettigrew will be there, but I have seen more Mock Drafts that have Pettigrew available in the second round this year than I saw mock drafts predicting Hardy would be avialable in the second round last year.
  22. There is another angle on the Toronto deal that people on this board have not discussed. The Toronto deal runs until 2012. I would not be surprised if the deal isn't extended and expanded in the next 12 months. Anyone who wants to buy the Bills, would still be bound by the contract between Rogers and the Bills. Meaning they either have to buy out the deal, at an outrageous price, or allow the team to play one (or two) games in Toronto. The Toronto deal is Ralph's way of creating a 'poison pill' for any future buyers who want to move the Bills.* *unless those buyers want to move the team to Toronto.
  23. Last year in March, Kurt Warner was not an elite QB The Card's o-line had questions hanging over it Mike Gandy started at LT Buffalo has a good of chance as any other team to be this years Arizona
  24. Last year the Bills started the season with gameplans that caught their opponents off-guard. There is no reason to think this year will be any different. If the Bills can be effective with some plays BB has not yet seen, Trent can get the Ball to TO, Fewell can come up with a way to pressure the QB, and Brady is a little rusty; then the Bills could win. I think the Bills have a better chance week 1 against the Pats then they would in week 8.
  25. Did you come across the term '4th down Fitzpatric'?
