  1. I do not expect any current player to criticize Jauron, publicly or anonymously. It would be a dumb move given the phantom extension. But people should not use quotes, like the Whitner quote posted on this thread, to support an argument that the players think keeping Jauron is the best thing for the team.
  2. I will do this if the Bills make the playoffs.
  3. Players always say things like that about coaches. I got a chance to talk to Sammy Morris once, I asked him point blank if Williams was going to be/should be fired. This was with only 2-3 games left in Williams' final season. There were no talks of contract extentions and everyone knew Williams was already gone. I thought, under the circumstances, Morris might give his honest opinion. His responce was almost exactly the same as the Whitner quote posted here. Every current Bills player will tell you and/or the media they support Jauron. It is just another one of those cliche sports responces. Like saying we need to execute.
  4. I hope McGee is POed about the last game and knocks Ginn on his @$$ every play. McGee, when healthy, has the spead to keep up w/ Ginn. Ginn is one of the few starting receivers in the NFL small enough for a Bills corner to knock around.
  5. I do not want the ones who work hard at regular jobs. I'm trying to say that the players & coaches work to hard as it is. I want the guys who will have fun. Jim Kelly partied all week long, and on Sunday, he called the plays. He didn't spend 80 hours a week in the film room. He didn't have the best wunderlik or highest IQ - and he still ran an offense that was good enough to beat most of the teams in the NFL. Football doesn't have to be hard. Football should be fun. The Bills needs less 'workers' and more 'players'.
  6. I say we really do a completly different approach. Guys like Thurman & Jim do not want to be coaches because of the long hours. Joe D thinks that sleep deprivation is one of the things that causes the Bills staff to screw things up on gameday. Let's bring in a buch of lazy, millionare former players who just want to be back around players and the game. They can put in 40-50 hours a week, create simple gameplans that even Leodis can understand, and have fun. Football is a sport. Sports are supposed to be fun. The Bills have looked more like 'workers' than 'players' for years.
  7. I am tired of waiting to find out what will happen when Ralph keels over. If the team is going to leave, let it happen soon, while the team sucks. Let it happen during the season, after we have given up all hope, again. The threat of the Bills leaving Buffalo has been hanging over our heads for to long. I want to know who the next owner will be, and what that owner will do with the team.
  8. Some teams did not want to draft Lynch because they thought he had back problems. The Bills' staff did not think the issues were serious. Lynch's agent pointed out that the back never caused Lynch to miss a practice or game. If the Bills staff and an agent say his back is fine, then it must be. Just ask John McCargo and the Colts.
  9. The Bills need TO's $ to be competitive. The CFL does not want an NFL team in Canada. I propose Canada pass the CFL protection act. Canada passes a law preventing more than 5 nfl games per year from being played in Canada. The Bills play 1/2 of the regular and pre-season games in TO and 1/2 in Buffalo. The Bills get some TO $ and long-term stability. The NFL gets international exposure. Canada gets to show it can compete with the US when it comes to hosting America's most popular sport. The CFL gets to survive by limiting the NFL's exposure north of the border, allowing rich and influential Canadians to keep there sports franchises. Everybody with deep pockets wins. The only loosers are 50,000 season ticket holders and the few businesses that count on those 10 games at the Ralph to break even.
  10. Ofcourse Jauron was given an extention. He achieved Ralph's primary objective for this year, win 5 games, ensuring the Bills will not have to pay a top 5 pick. Once his primary objective for the year was achieved, Jauron went on to ensure Ralph's other goal was met, ensuring Ralph doesn't have to fork over playoff checks & bonuses to the players and coaches. Jauron is the perfect coach for Ralph. He's cheap, he hires cheap assistants. He's good enough to prevent the Bills from getting a top 5 pick and bad enough to keep them out of the playoffs.
  11. It's not going to happen. The '90s team was good despite the Bills. When you think of all of the things that happened, it seems that team was put together more with luck than by design. In '83 the Bills wasted a 1st round pick on a player that refused to play for the Bills. This allowed the Bills to go 2-14 the next 2 seasons. Giving them the 1st overall pick in '85. In '85 the GM has a heart attack, the director of pro personnel steps in drafts and signs Bruce Smith. (who knows who the GM would have drafted) Prior to the '86 season, The USFL folds, giving Kelly no other option but to play for Buffalo. (Imagine what the Bills coaches would have done to Kelly if he had played here those first 2 years) The Bills draft a Running back with a bum knee and a receiver no one ever heard of. Then they hire a re-tread coach and all of a sudden, the Bills have a good team.
  12. Yeah, let's keep Jauron. He just needs some experienced assistants/coordinators. I hear Jacksonville's DC is on the hot seat, and that guy has experience as a head coach.
  13. It's the curse of McKinnley. http://www.buffalocurse.com/ Personally, I think if there really is a curse, it must have happened in the late '60s early '70s, but the 1901 McKinnley Curse seems the most credible.* * if a curse can be credible.
  14. My favorate was when they showed John Murphy & Co. on the TV and refered to them as the Bills coaches in the booth.
  15. Dick holds practices indoors to make sure the players are correctly learning and implimenting the gameplan. While this is an importiant part of practice, it would not kill the team to practice out doors once a week prior to home/cold weather games. It's like Wade with the headset. It wouldn't have killed him to just put the headset on. Wade just wanted to be right. There is no reason the Bills could not hold practice outside today. Dick just wants to be right.
  16. 5 days away from regular season football and TO's baseball sized stadium is not sold out. They will not get a superbowl any time soon. The Super Bowl will be in London long before it is in Toronto
  17. I think the Bills should hire Brian Billick. He can bring in Marvin Lewis or Mike Nolan as DC too.
  18. I think practicing on the outdoor field once a week in November and December would help. When the weather is bad, they practice inside.
  19. I have seen Ralph ride in a PT cruiser w/ a Bills logo airburshed on the side. At his age, I don't think Ralph drives anything anymore.
  20. The problem with losing is that after you do it so many times, you get desensitized to it. This team has lost its hatred for losing, because they have done it so much the past few years.
  21. I vote for Tom Landry The odds of Ralph firing a coach with 3 years left on his contract and then forking over the $ it would cost to hire anyone remotly qualified are about the same as Tom Landry rising from the dead and turning down a job with the Cowboys to coach Buffalo.
  22. The Big Tree is cool because that's where the players from the '90s hung out. Danny's has better food
  23. As opposed to the alternative, pay the fired coach for the next three years and have to pay a new coach. Do you really think Wilson would fire a coach with 3 years left on his deal?
  24. The Bills’ coaches chose Kelsey as a captain. Making Kelsey a captain, shows that the Bills thought he was doing a good job. Kelsey is no worse now than when they made him a captain, or when they gave him his contract. Cutting Kelsey would be leadership admitting they were wrong and did not know what they were doing. I'd suggest they strip Kelsey of his C, but who would they give it to? Is there anyone on the defense that deserves a C?
  25. The Bills could reach an injury settlement and release Crowell. Then he could play for any team, except the Bills.
