I’m a huge fan of Beane’s and the job he’s done putting this roster together. I have complete confidence in him going forward. That said, I think the real heroes of the offseason so far are the Pegula’s. They keep cutting checks to keep this team competing at the top of the league. After Ralph, it’s pretty amazing to have big baller owners willing to do what needs to be done to win.

Not sure we’ll see lots of 12 personnel, we just signed a 5’6 receiver today who will likely have a much bigger role than our backup TE. That said, I can see Parham being a nice red zone target.

Not nearly as juicy a story as I expected. You should embellish and add some debauchery!
-
Somewhere between 4-6M I believe, but it’s likely they would structure the deal to be smaller than an 8M hit this year (maybe 5?).
-
If we make the deal I’ll get on board, because I trust this front office, have always liked Jeudy, and would love to see another legit weapon (particularly a route runner) for Josh. I’d just prefer not to spend a 1st. But again, Beane knows the market better, and what is or isn’t actually available, so I’ll be happy to be wrong.

Bobby Wagner - the solution to the Edmunds problem

Depends though. While Jeudy is likely better this year than a WR picked at 27, you also have to pay him next year (assuming he plays well). Meanwhile pick 27 is cost controlled for at least 4 years. So a Jeudy trade is yet another win now move. I’m not opposed to it, but it’s not a no brainer. Now if they’d take our 2nd and maybe a 4th, I’d definitely pull the trigger. Would also allow us to use 27 on OL where there may be some value.

Serious question, how do you know we didn’t offer David $8M?
-
Yeah, Miami would’ve really stung!
-
Any terms been announced yet? just curious how much space remains.
-
I’m on board, but if we get David we may need to use the draft to focus on offense. Still, would be a nice luxury to have the D all set heading to the draft.
-
Thrilled to have him back and take another run at it with a hopefully healthy secondary this year!
-
We need ALL of them! But seriously, they’ve talked about improving YAC for a couple of seasons now. This guy is explosive and should help in that area. Lil’Dirty may be gone, Crowder may already be gone (not sure?), and Shakir can still force his way on the field. I’m hoping they still make a splash at WR2, but it’s possible they still believe in Davis.

SOME NFL contracts have that language. No idea if Diggs deal did. That said, you’re right that it benefits the player in getting cash up front.
-
Not sure exactly, depends on the number of year’s remaining. If it’s 3 yrs for example, would cost $16.2M to save $5.4M. You can do the math from there, but it’s basically an extra $5.4 per year remaining as it’s spreading the cap hit equally over year’s remaining.
-
Payout was probably more like $10M or more to save five off this years cap. Still, Diggs and the club are doing their part to create space to keep the team highly competitive.

Or when up big in the 2nd half.

Why would Williams get so much more than Montgomery? Granted he had a better 2022, but Montgomery has been the better back in prior years. If I were to guess, I think Williams gets a similar deal if not slightly less.

Bears can offer boatloads of money. Bengals offer a chance to win. Bills offer a chance to win and likely a bigger role than Bengals.
