  1. That’s still a cap hit over $9M this year, which I imagine would take some restructuring to fit. Perhaps they’d even extend him to 3-4 years to spread it out more.
  2. Nope. Technically Mike’s Garrett is an edge and would never drop off in coverage (unless coached by a Ryan brother). An edge just means he rushes the passer from the edges. It’s all encompassing. DE and OLB are different positions, both are edge rushers. Hope that makes sense.
  3. They are all DE’s (not really OLB’s), but still play on the edge so you could call them either. A DE is an edge rusher, as is an OLB in a 3-4. It’s just a way of lumping them together, as most OLB’s in a 3-4 will line up at DE on obvious passing downs.
  4. With the 37th pick in the 2023 draft, the Las Vegas Raiders are proud to select Mazi Smith of Michigan. Having reinforced the offensive line in Rd 1, the Raiders look to boost the defensive line in the second. Smith should be able to take on 2 blockers and be a force in run defense. We are also confident he’ll be able to contribute on all 3 downs in time and be a key piece of the defense for years to come. @Draconator and the Carolina Panthers are now on the clock.
  5. Why June 1? Arizona can release him now with a June 1 designation. I’m still thinking there’s a good chance we get him, likely during the draft.
  6. Maybe Josh already did so privately? Or more likely Stef has. Perhaps I see him through rosé coloured glasses but I don’t see Josh as the type to come out publicly put the front office on blast. Regardless, let’s hope Beane sees the need to beef up the offense.
  7. That seems incredibly doubtful to me.
  8. With the 7th pick in the 2023 draft the Las Vegas Raiders are proud to select Paris Johnson Jr from the Ohio State University. Upgrading the line and protecting Jimmy G are a clear priority for Vegas and Paris gives us an immediate starter on the right side and eventual LT The Atlanta Falcons are now on the clock. @Might Rather
  9. So if we don’t go LB early, maybe the plan is Klein on early downs and Rapp sliding in on obvious passing downs.
  10. Raiders please
  11. Bengals or whoever is left
  12. 2 firsts I guess?
  13. Seahawks or Bears please
  14. Is it me or were the Bills the preferred choice with KC 2nd? Nothing earth shattering or shocking in that, but encouraging nonetheless.
  15. He might have other restructures available and ready to pull the trigger should a deal be reached (unlikely but possible). It’s pretty cool to have an owner so consistently happy to shell out cash to help us win. Thank you Terry and Kim. Regardless if they do so again this year, they’ve shown a willingness to cut the check and do whatever it takes.
  16. Imagine being in Arizona and everyone wanting out? The organization is such a mess.
  17. I want Hopkins on the Bills. And I REALLY DON’T WANT Hopkins on the Jets. Put him with Rogers, Wilson, Hall, and that defense, well I wouldn’t like that.
  18. That’s the debate on him. I’ve seen highlights of him making some nice plays dropping back in zone, but he doesn’t seem as fluid as Sanders or Simpson. We’ve been spoiled by Edmunds and Milano (in coverage). I’m sure we could do a lot worse than Campbell. And if he’s not good enough for McD on passing downs, perhaps we use Rapp and Milano.
  19. DE is also an expensive position. Even DT’s get paid more on average than a LB.
  20. I think that usually happens when the offers are either non existent or underwhelming. Let the player realize the market. Or any potential deal has died because the player wasn’t able to make his contract work with the other team(s). Either way, doesn’t seem like it’ll be a big return for DHop.
  21. While trading Davis+ for Evans & White is incredibly appealing, it doesn’t sound like this guy has any sources or anything to report. He’s simply suggesting it like any of us could. Furthermore, it would take some incredible cap gymnastics to make it happen. So incredibly unlikely. All that said, it would be awesome to add that level of talent (with championship experience).
  22. If we go DT early, I really hope it’s Mazi Smith. Dude is huge, immovable, and quick and agile for his size. His college production wasn’t outstanding, but all the traits are there for him to bust out in the NFL. At worst he should be able to take up 2 blockers in the run game. And it’s possible he develops a little bit of a pass rush. Edit - And as I typed someone else posted his video above lol
  23. Matt Milano and our elite safeties getting it done!
  24. Surprisingly the base is $15 and $3M in incentives. They really PAID him.
  25. Who said he was deficient in other areas? I like Campbell. He’s decent in zone coverage, but his tape doesn’t show as fluid an athlete as either Simpson or Sanders. That’s not a knock, they are physical freaks. The fact Campbell tested that well is very encouraging.
