So, does Whaley get credit for finding this guy? Or does he lose points for not knowing what he had and signing him to a one year deal and costing us a shot at Prescott? It's sort of the Sammy Watkins argument all over again. In Whaley's defense, this guy was going begging and that's why we got him on a one year deal.

I just want to know. Is this part of Terry Pegula's secret plan to tank? Because right now it is not working!

Run defense much improved over last season. Mostly due to the Brown brothers.

The record was bad but by the end of the season, we had the best rushing offende in the league under Alex Van pelt. Freddie's best season.

I guess you are probably right. I seem to be one of the few today who is not sure Whaley should be fired. I don't think he is all responsible for this mess. I still think our scouting department is the best since the 90's. Hate to start all over again.

What happened to this guy? He seems a bit trentative out there. Did they say anything to him in the offseason other than "don't throw picks". Drops back and doesn't throw downfield. takes off for no reason or checks down for no reason. Missed easy out patterns three times in the game. He has really regressed. Even in the last two minutes, he was checking it down. This to me is maybe the most disappointing development this season.

His leadership doesn't worry me as much as his sudden inability to throw an 8 yard out pattern. it was there all night and he missed it three times.

This. How do you not blitz all night and your corners are still locked in one on one every play? Dropping seven, you couldn't play zone once in a while? Ryan does not understand pro football in 2016. All Fitz had to do was find the guy in single coverage. Our defense was hung out to dry by the 2005 schemes.

Can't understand why we can't run a play with more than 2 seconds on the play clock and have to burn two time-outs in every half to avoid delay of game. Same stupid stuff as last year. Maybe we need to go no huddle just to get the plays off on time.

I think the OP was quoting from Animal House. I get his point. My point is 16 years of lousy football makes it tough to be an optimist. But lets give it another week before we start talking tanking and make a list of head coaching candidates.

I think Rex would refrain from blitzing (mostly) if we could get a pass rush from the front four. How about Hughes, Alexander, Worthy and Washington on third down, for now?

It now appears that Lorenzo Alexander may be one of the finds of the preseason. If he and Jerry Hughes and put together great seasons and give us a pass rush, that would go a long way toward making our defense tough.
