What were their expenditures? The average cost for a single person to buy a health insurance plan is $4700. If you reduced insurance company profit by 2/3's the savings would only be $94 a year.

Also, health insurance is the 86th most profitable industry in America. Not to mention $12.9 billion is fairly minuscule when you are talking in hundreds of billions to over a trillion.

You realize that the health care plan industry has a profit margin of around 3%, right? There is no wiggle room to reduce rates in order to gain more customers.

How about we talk about the fact that all those proposed regulations will drastically increase premiums?

Cutler made it to the pro bowl because of his raw numbers, not because he was especially good. He may have thrown for 4500 yards but he needed the 9th most pass attempts of all time to do it. He also had 20 turnovers, even though he had a top 5 receiving corps, offensive line, and running game. He also consistently ranks #1 in bad decision % among starting QBs. I would say Jeff George is a very apt comparison, and one that quite a few people are starting to make.

Cutler isn't exactly a high quality starter. He is far more like Jeff George than Brett Favre.

Ellison isn't a starter, but he is a good backup.

Jason Peters is looking more and more like Willis McGahee everyday.

I'd like to see a citation on that numbers, because as i remember it, the disability part is a small percentage. If i recall correctly, congress uses your SS money to fund other programs like roads, wars,etc...
