  1. So they're going to pull this crap every year? I like how they all walk around taking pictures of each other so they can post them online to show the world how they stuck it to the man.
  2. No, I suppose it isn't. Being a local boy, he's pretty big around here, but I've only ever heard of him playing in town once (at a G3 with Satriani, Vai, and Petrucci - it was a great show). But I've done enough off-topic deviating....
  3. In his white house on Pennsylvania avenue, dead Cthulhu lies dreaming.
  4. I thought the same thing when I read it, but yes - half.
  5. Ha! playing other peoples' stuff is easy.
  6. Sadly, I'm old enough to remember the commercials quite well. Thus, my use of their slogan in my reply in post 924.
  7. I'll concede on anything except guitar playing.
  8. I never thought it was possible, but you actually make Gatorman look almost intelligent. If you want to lump me into your little group of detractors, then fine. I've certainly been in worse company before. Bear in mind that I'm only reacting to your warped and incredibly limited world view, as well as drawing amusement from your pathetic need to assign all kinds of ridiculous character flaws on people who either call you out or laugh at you. I think it's especially funny how you think we're on welfare, when the chances are quite good that any of the three of us earn more in a day than you'll ever see in a week.
  9. Research - a little dab will do ya'.
  10. Remember when Gus was first taken to see the ancients? Their spokesman, Vaun, said that the ancients were trying to stop the master because we has too overt in his ways. The ancients prefer to remain unknown and anonymous, and the master is ruining it for them. I believe that relates to the book - the Occido Lumen, that Satrakian is after. Early in the first season, we first saw the vampire 'assassin squad' when they appeared at Joan Luss's (the female atorney who 'survived' the flight from Berlin only to turn into a strigoi) house and killed her. The leader of those 'vampire assassins' was presumed by fans to be a character named Mr Quinlan, but instead turned out to be a character created for the TV version of the story, named Vaun. I've never read the books, but Mr Quinlan is a major character and is half strigoi, so it's safe to assume that's who they teased us with at the end of the show.
  11. You just knew that Eph would run into his old boss, Dr Barnes, on the train. I'm guessing that we haven't seen the last of him, despite his sudden departure. That must have been Quinlan, the human-strigoi hybrid & vampire hunter supreme, introduced at the end of the show.
  12. I've seen him going on about that before. It's got to be some of the lamest trolling I've ever seen. It fits his profile, though.
  13. What the hell are you talking about?
  14. It doesn't have to have been a bad decade for your statement to be true. I still have my Bloom County trade paperback that contained the tear-out record (a vinyl page with a 45 rpm recording on it) of Billy and the Boingers' song 'I'm a Boinger' (once torn out, I slid it into my copy of the 'This is Spinal Tap' sound track). Bloom County and The Far Side have always been untouchable classics.
  15. That's pretty pathetic, little guy.
  16.
  17. I'm guessing that you're the most likely around here to know this, but didn't we have a 3rd bomb that we were going to drop on Kyoto had the Japanese not surrendered when they did?
  18. meanwhile, Gonzo, the lead guitar player.......
  19. Once I read Moby Dick, I stopped using lamp oil.
  20. Whether you agree with them or not, Trump's supporters like him because of his complete lack of respect for convention. They're not really backing him on issues, and despite their apparent zeal, I believe their numbers will now begin to dwindle as they realize that he's mostly just talk.
  21. Trump's presence has been helpful to the republican cause in that he's shown that people will react positively if you set political correctness aside and just say what you think. In my opinion, he needed to do more than that last night - he needed to start offering specifics, to show that he has the ability to be a true statesman, but he left a lot of people questioning his ability to do so. The candidates that impressed me the most with their performances last night were Huckabee, Cruz, and Christie. I think Huck was the strongest of the 'classic' Reagan-style conservatives. Christie is more moderate than I normally like, but when you consider how heavily democrat New Jersey is, I think it's to his credit that he can maintain his governorship. I also like his brashness & lack of concern for PC dialogue. Cruz is sharp as a razor, and despite his somewhat sanctimonious delivery, comes off as being very sincere. I've always liked Kasich, going back to '94. There are qualities I like about everyone that was on that stage last night, and I would vote for any one of them before I'd vote for any of the 5 democrat hopefuls.
  22. Exactly. He comes off as the most 'Reaganesque' of the bunch, fwiw. Carson's method of stating the obvious is too nuanced for Gator - he only recognizes a flat tax if you specifically call it that.
  23. Racist.
