  1. You don't think Nate's a lock down CB? I'd disagree with that. I'm not sure we should spend that much money either, but he IS either one of the best or possibly THE best at his position... Can't refute that. Quick correction to your post -- if Buffalo puts the transition tag on him, all that gives us is the right to match another team's offer. If we don't match, we don't get anything. TKO was given a transition tag, for example. We'd have to franchise him (average of the top 5 CBs in the league) and hope someone wanted to trade for him or sign him outright (signing outright would give the Bills two first rounders, and that rarely happens). CW
  2. Maybe I'm misreading it, but it sounds like it simply got lost in the mail and there's no guarantee that Priority Mail would've gotten there either. I know that there's been a few people I've sent DVDs to who say they've never received them! I would either leave positive feedback or no feedback. The guy kept in communication with you, sent you the tickets, you just never got them -- lost in the mail, most likely. Shipping charges on eBay are NOT simply how much it costs to slap a stamp on it, regardless of whether you feel it should be or not. In fact, most places online charge more than plain shipping prices as well. Wasn't there a thread about Ticketmaster charging $2/ticket to EMAIL it? CW
  3. AWESOME! That's going on my wishlist. Thanks! CW
  4. Never said people wouldn't have had the problem; All I said was that they wouldn't have had to waste vacation time rushing home to watch it. Big difference. CW
  5. I *loved* the original Spiderman. Wish I could see some of those original episodes again... There was also a show that I used to watch, but I don't remember what it was called. There was this kid, and he talked to a ball of light or something, and it helped him solve problems... That's about all I remember. It was called Chokey or something. Can't remember the details, any help? CW
  6. As others have said, you don't... There may be ways around it, but trust me, they'll know that you're circumventing the rules and can nail you for it if they want to. CW
  7. It actually could mean that he's already in the program: No suspension and no disclosure until the third failed test. CW
  8. Why, does the thing have a sattelite dish on top too??? CW
  9. Yes, that's true -- I lived in Niagara Falls growing up, and I got channels 5, 9, and ... 22? I don't remember, but there were 3 of them. I used to watch the Eskimos win the Gray cup all the time. CW
  10. ...or you could just get DirecTV... Hey, I have to, it's in my title CW
  11. No info yet; their webpage still lists $129, but that's for the '04 season. I wouldn't be surprised if they reduced it to get more fans. Then again, maybe not. Not sure. CW
  12. Ok, maybe it doesn't work for Spikes. But you DID say, "I was looking to get Spikes, Losman, or McGahee." CW
  13. With TiVo, you stop watching what was on TV and move past the necking... Then you can go back to watching what you were watching, without skipping a beat. CW
  14. That's not really Dish/DirecTVs fault... Besides, would you rather watch a hockey game or the NFL? CW
  15. Have you thought about trying to get an old jersey (Bledsoe, Flutie, Johnson, etc?) and then changing the nameplate? I don't know how hard that is, but I've read some people here have done it. Maybe they could shed some light on the process. CW
  16. At least the sports networks don't own entire distribution methods. I see your point though, and big companies in general are just making things bad all around True, although I don't think they should be allowed to have their own channel AND their own distribution method. Not going to change though (at least, not for the better, only for the worse). Yes, I'd still refuse to get cable. I guess I just wouldn't get to watch any of the Sabres games. I was fine without it last year... CW
  17. I don't get it? Apparantly you don't... At least TWO people here wasted VACATION TIME to rush home and watch the Bills/Colts game. If they had TiVo, they would've recorded it, tried watching it when they got home (using NO vacation time), then reazlied that the whole game wasn't there. They'd still be pissed, but they'd still have their vacation time from their job. Not sure about you, but my vacation time is worth FAR more than $60/year.. Hell, 1 HOUR of my vacation time is worth more than $60/year. Also, DirecTV/TiVo does not send daily updates over the phones, you're wrong. You don't need the phone after daily setup. But why listen to people who have been there and own the product? CW
  18. I'd disagree... I can't watch TV without TiVo, as it's a waste of time (commercials, nothing on when I want to watch, forced to be tied to the clock/networks, etc). At this point, when I'm visiting friends and family, I never watch TV because it sucks - TiVo (or any DVR) is essential once you're used to it. CW
  19. And that's EXACTLY what Comcast wants people to say. Screw 'em. CW
  20. If you're already paying for DirecTV or cable, and you've already paid for a television (and possibly a receiver and speakers for better sound), what's $5/month for a life-changing product? (and yes, TiVo DOES change your life for the better, regardless of how much TV you watch or don't watch). What he's saying is that TV is a luxery item, but if you have TV, TiVo shouldn't be considered a luxery item because you'll save time not watching as much crap (no offense, Mr. Monkey... ). CW
  21. Not to completely hijack the thread (although it is related to the NFLN programming change, and ways to fix it), but this comment is dead on. My coworker was hyping the TiVo back in 2000 (?), saying how great it was. All I heard was, "glorified VCR that I pay a monthly fee for." No thanks, I don't need that! Then later in the year, DirecTV was selling them for $99, and I read that the box could record two shows at the same time. For $99, I figured I'd replace my current receiver just so I could record two shows. If I didn't like the TiVo feature, I'd just cancel it. This is when DirecTV charged $10/month for the service (aside: Yes, DirecTV has actually LOWERED my monthly price three or four times; this isn't a DirecTV post though, it's a TiVO one). My wife was saying she didn't think we needed to pay $99 for a "glorified VCR," but I finally got my way. Fast forward six months. The series 1 TiVos were no longer available in stores and the series 2 TiVos were delayed until wintertime. If you wanted a TiVo, you had to buy used. They were selling on eBay for $500-$600! I told my wife about it, and asked her if we should sell it and get a regular receiver. She replied, and I quote, "No way in hell are you selling my TiVo!" Pretty telling story, IMHO. My favorite part about the TiVo? My wife and I get to eat dinner at the dining room table every night instead of eating in front of the TV. Not having to worry about getting home by noon to watch the Bills game is a close second. CW
  22. Like when they interupt prime time to show you that a storm in coming? No different, and will never change. Networks are allowed to change programming for any reason. For $5/month (if you have DirecTV) or $12/month (if you buy a standalone) or a one-time fee (not sure the amount, standalone only), you can avoid all of it. Isn't your vacation time worth more than $5/month? That's only 16 cents a day!!! CW
  23. She wasn't stabbed at Wimbledon, she was stabbed on some court in Germany. CW
  24. I'll say it to you to: TiVo People need to stop being slaves to their TVs and do things on THEIR schedule instead. Burning vacation time for TV would suck. Eating dinner in front of the TV sucks. Having to rush home to watch a show instead of having fun with friends sucks. TiVo fixes all that. It's the 21st century, peoiple. CW
  25. Agreed - I really despise Comcast. Want to hear more Comcast crap? When they bought AT&T broadband a few years back, the first thing they did was raise the price of their internet access to $65/month for people without cable TV. If you subscribe to their cable TV, it's only $50. They were trying to convince me to purchase the $8/month cable package because that would still make my monthly bill cheaper. How dispicable is that? I told them to get lost because I wasn't going to help pump up their subscriber numbers to help their stock price. I actually dislike Comcast more than I dislike Microsoft if you can believe that... CW
