  1. Someone needs to let LA know about this! CW
  2. I just saw this message and thought I should let everyone know about it: Oh wait.... CW
  3. Agreed. I'd send the message to Snopes.com and let them investigate. It's what they do CW
  4. http://www.twobillsdrive.com/cookbook/viewrecipe.php?id=98
  5. I havn't followed all of the threads about this yet, but it was reported that the evacuation of the Superdome has been halted because people were firing at the helicoptors. These same types of people would be the ones shooting at the cooks at the grill so that they'd have a larger hoard of food. CW
  6. Still $2.99/gallon in the Twin Cities metro area (at least between Hudson and St. Paul) CW
  7. Heh, that's great! Maybe I should stop into the store and suggest that? CW
  8. How about a car that runs on garbage, like in Back to the Future? CW
  9. http://www.hudsonstarobserver.com/main.asp...=Mickey%20Mouse If you need to login, here's the info: username: mickey@dodgeit.com password: mouse Talk about scary -- and talk about a feisty woman! This guy was insane: It's not the best written article, but it gets the experience across. CW
  10. I'm not expecting aid from third world countries. However, I would hope that countries like England, France, Japan, etc, would offer up something (even if we turn it down). Just because we CAN do it all, doesn't necessarily mean that others shouldn't help us out. However, I have read several people here saying that other countries have offered and given condolenses. I havn't seen any of the links/articles, but if true that's good enough for me. CW PS: I sure could go for some Cadbury WholeNut bars and Walker's crisps right about now...
  11. I mentioned that to a coworker this morning, and we both agreed we won't be hearing anything from anyone. CW
  12. $2.79 on my way into work this morning (Minneapolis/St. Paul) At some stations in the metro area, is was apparantly over $3/gallon! http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/5588559.html CW
  13. It won't be on live. However, there's a "no huddle" show where they show clips of all of the games live, generally whenever someone is close to scoring (or replays of big plays, like our blocked punt vs the Colts). Channel 212 (NFL Network) CW
  14. If all of the entities are willing to refund the money, then I'm all for the vacationers staying home (go somewhere else? Re-schedule?) and letting the homeless stay in the hotel. CW
  15. So will I get a refund on my airline tickets? Car rental? Hotel room? Football tickets? Not trying to be an ass, but vacations cost a LOT of money, so why should someone who had a trip planned be left holding the bag? The simple answer is, "Of course you let the homeless stay in the hotel," but there's more than just hotel rooms involved in this instance. CW
  16. So what should the people who fly/drive down there to see the game do? Should they be the homeless ones? It's a tough situation, but the people from out of town are just as homeless as those who fled the hurricane. CW
  17. I have a great idea -- give Buffalo an extra home game!!!
  18. Perfect example: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...&s=dvd&n=507846 After 3 years, it's STILL one of the top-25 sold DVDs at Amazon. And that includes ALL of their DVDs, not just TV shows... Oh, and next month, Universal is releasing a movie as well: http://www.serenitymovie.com I don't even need to bring up shows like Family Guy. I've never done this before, but... Fox = RJ CW
  19. If it's any good, it'll be cancelled. That's what Fox does. CW
  20. I think that's overrated, especially with someone cut this early. There's not much scheming going on right now in camp... I doubt we'd get anything interesting. CW
  21. http://www.twobillsdrive.com/cookbook/view...&category=Pasta CW
  22. Those are separate issues. CBS isn't even RECORDING all their games in HD -- Fox, on the other hand, is. You can record a game in HD and transmit in SD without a problem. DTV can (and does) also tweak the compression rates of other channels to be able to show more games; they could do them all in HD, if CBS were recording them all in HD. What DTV can't do is broadcast any more locals in HD because that would be a full-time commitment. That's what the new satellite is for. In this case, it's all CBS' fault. CW
  23. I don't think that's the case -- I'm pretty sure it's equipment cost (it's much more expensive). I know bandwidth is the issue with delivering to the enduser (for both cable and satellite), but I don't think that has anything to do with filming. Of course I could be wrong. CW
  24. I was on vacation last week. I hate boring vacations though (ie: sitting and reading all day; my wife LOVES doing that though)... So here's what I did: Friday (8/19): Work half day, then fly to Buffalo. Eat pizza and wings, talk with family Saturday: Tailgate before watching Bills crush Packers; meet DieHardFan Sunday: Hang out with family, eat more wings. Monday: Go shopping for Bills stuff, eat more wings. Take a nap. Tuesday: Go to Toronto, visit science museum, look around the city, see Blue Man Group Wednesday: Relax, hang out with family, eat grandma's homemade gnocci and pizza Thursday: Fly back home Friday: Finish electrical work in basement Saturday: Finish hanging doors/trim/screen/pj in basement Sunday: Relax! CW
  25. Along a similar line, I just noticed this weekend that DirecTV has three new "mix" channels. One shows 6 different news channels, one shows 6 different sports channels, and one shows 6 different cartoon/kids channels. You turn to those, see what's on, and then can flip to the "real" channel if you want to see it fullscreen. Kinda interesting, especially the sports one. I'm guessing it's similar to what they're doing with the NFL games this year. CW
