Fine, I'll be the hopeless optimist (remember, everyone roasted Wade Phillips for saying they weren't going to the playoffs when the Colts were at the same bad position we were- - and the Colts made it!). While I don't know if we WILL or not, I know that this team CAN. Why can we make the playoffs? Here's a few reasons: 1) We know we can go 5-1 in the division. Already beat the Jets and Dolphins, and we should have beaten the Patriots (still stings). Next game will be at home, so we have a shot. 2) We have one of, if not the best RB in the league. Control the clock, take away your opponents opportunities, mask your QB weakness. 3)Special teams havn't been as explosive as last year, but do regularly set us up with great field position. 4) Our only two hard road games are against the Chargers (who look totally beatable this year) and the Bengals. Even if we lose thos two games, we could go 9-7 which is probably enough to win this division (although beating the Panthers AND Chiefs at home will be a tough challenge; but I still believe we can beat anyone at home). So it'll be a REALLY tough road ahead, but we're not out of it yet. That said, I don't think it matters which QB we put in. Neither of them is really putting in great performances. CW

Not to mention the missed no-call against the Pats when the hit #92 in the back on a play. He even got up and said, "What the hell, ref?!" Definately seemed like the refs were out to help the Pats in the 4th. Still, we should've scored some points in the first three quarters. CW

Yeah, no kidding. While I'm not sure we deserved to win the game, there were some HIGHLY questionable calls down the home streatch. The "completed" pass that Buffalo challenged. Everyone was saying it was incomplete, looked it to me too, but yet they call it complet? A few plays later, a Patriot clips #92 in the back. The guy even says, "What the hell, ref?!" No flag. Ticky-tack PI call on Moulds at the end of the game. I never see that called, especially not late in the game. There were one or two other plays that made me pissed off as well. The big issue though is that we dominated all game, but couldn't put points on the board. Doesn't matter how many plays/yards/TOP you have, if you don't get any points to go with it. CW

And yet it's still 3-0... I hope we win, but I wouldn't be surprised if your team flips the light switch and rolls in the 2nd. I really really really REALLY want to be wrong though! GO BILLS! (in HD! ). CW

Am I the only one who's getting tired of reading posts saying, "I hope we send him off the field?" That's rather classless, IMHO. Do I hope he's ineffective? Definately! Do I want to send him to the hospital? No way. It's also embarassing to read other "fans" here saying that. CW

Great, now the Bills will only lose by 9 and you'll be doubly pissed! CW -
Actually BB has noticed that teams with banged up secondaries beat Buffalo, so he probably went and injured them himself. CW

I don't think he had a chance to call Apple. I got the iPod at around 9:30, I called him and he wasn't home, so called FedEx at 11am. FedEx picked it up again and redelivered at around 1pm (and he still wasn't home, so I'm not sure if they left it on the porch or not...). Either way, it's out of my hands and my face is safe CW

I know you guys don't like posts about the past...

I don't think it was the last game of the season, was it? I think he played a few games that season, and the Bears one is the one that stands out because it was the first time in Tampa Bay history that the Bucs had won a game where the temperature was below 40. I stand corrected - it was the last game of the season: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/schedule?year=2002 ESPN doesn't seem to have stats from that season though, and it's tough to tell who is who because Brad Johnson was the starter. First, no bomb is going to kill/harm 80,000 people in a stadium. The bomb itself isn't the main problem, it's the ensuing chaos that will cause more problems -- and you'll get the same chaos in a school albeit with only 5,000 students and staff. Second, you must be going to some small schools to only have 20 people in a classroom. And who says it has to be a high school? I was in lecture halls for college that had over 500 students. Benjamin Franklin put it best when he said, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. Of course, I should remember that this is the same message board where people have frequently argued against "innocent until proven guilty." CW

What is the new hip site where all the cool cats
Fezmid replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not necessarily, since the site has been up for a year or two already. Not sure if there's some international laws stopping the RIAA from shutting it down or what. -
Key words there are "scare tactics." According to this, the guy never attempted to enter the stadium: http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=46640 I especially like the teacher's comment: What would parents say if their kids were patted down before entering every classroom? He's right, there would be public outcry. I don't understand why this isn't being viewed the same.

It's more fun lying? And you're telling Tom to STFU? CW

At least some people can read. I've already called FedEx, as well as the rightful package owner (who still isn't home). FedEx said that they'll send the driver out to pick it up and redeliver it. I figured this was best, so that the real owner doesn't try to get me in trouble (hadn't thought of that until reading this thread). Unlikely, but you never know. CW

Please show me where I said I was asking what I should do? I thought I was very clear in stating that I was giving it back. I was only curious about the legal ramifications, more of a "what if" type question. Again, feel free to quote the section where I say I'm debating keeping it. Now stop being an idiot. CW

Maybe you didn't read my original post closely enough? I'll quote the important sections: and and CW

In my case, I probably should be looking at he legal ramifications of BOTH actions, and I should probably just call FedEx and have them come out and redeliver it themselves. What's to stop the guy from getting the iPod from me, then turning around and telling FedEx he never got it and tracking it back to me? You're right, it is kinda sad... CW

How can there be a distinction?

Nice FedEx story (I guess I'm not the only one): http://groups.google.com/group/alt.marketi...8656de9cd020735

Oooh, interesting theory Oh, I know that -- and as I said, I'm going to (he's not home right now and I'm not leaving it on his porch though). Just thought it was an interesting legal question (not moral one). Apparantly after doing some research it's not an interesting legal one either, it's pretty straight forward. CW

Ok, I know what the "right" answer is here, and I'm waiting for the guy to come home. BUT, I'm wondering if anyone knows the legal stance here. FedEx rang my doorbell this morning, I was expecting a package (my parents wanted to make sure I was home today), so I went to the door, signed for it, and opened the box. I was a bit perplexed because it was a Video iPod, and I didn't think my parents would buy anything like that for me (although I was joking about one yesterday, so it wasn't out of the realm of possibility). There was no packing slip or anything in the box - just the iPod. Instead of opening the iPod like I wanted to, I kept thinking about it. My parents weren't home. I entered the tracking information into FedEx - it shipped from China (to Alaska to Indianapolis to Minneapolis, all since yesterday! I looked at the address label, and saw it was shipped from ACI. Research on that seems to indicate it's "Apple Computers Inc" or something similar. Finally, I looked at the "to" address and noticed it was for someone else at a completely different address. Ummm, way to go FedEx guy. So I'm going to return it when he gets home (I have his phone number, nobody answered). But my question is, since the FedEx guy hand delivered it right to my house, am I legally obligated to return it? Or is this "Bank error in your favor, collect $200?" Just curious about people's opinions (or facts ). EDIT: BTW, I think FedEx sucks at delivering things properly. This is the third time in the last five years I've had a mishap with them (although this is the first time they gave me something as opposed to delivered my stuff elsewhere). A few months ago they delivered an IDE controller rto the guy across the street (even though the driver insists that he gave it to me ). Five years ago, FedEx delivered my wife's engagement ring to the house across the street! Luckily I was home and waiting for it, saw the "We missed you" sticker and was able to get it anyway. Pissed me off though. EDIT2: Looks like legally it's not mine, according to these posts: http://groups.google.com/group/misc.consum...ec4e7b783fbffff I kinda wish I had opened it up instead of over-analyzing where it came from... Would've been cool to see one in action CW

I'll turn it around and ask what's the reason for the Bills to stop that last TD? At the end of the day, it doesn't effect anything. Kneeling the ball shorts sportsmanship which is apparantly lacking in Oakland. Dungy didn't say, "Hey Texans, stop us if you can!" and try scroing again with little time on the clock. Why not? Because they have sportsmanship. CW

This has been brought up time and time again around here, but music doesn't generally suck -- MAINSTREAM music generally sucks. It's hard to find good music nowadays, but it's out there - you just have to look. Ayreon ( http://www.ayreon.com ) and Shadow Gallery ( http://www.shadowgallery.com ) are two examples of great bands that get zero airplay. CW

I actually was expecting the same thing... Heck, she was breaking the law, right? So she's a hero for protesting the segregation (true), but we should just all live with random arrests, permanantly stored DNA, and useless patdowns since that's for our own good. CW

It seems that people either loved or hated the Grudge. I wonder what the common denominator is... (I'm in the "loved it" camp, especially after watching Ju-On). CW
