  1. Proof positive that the officiating is getting worse and worse every year.
  2. You really think that's the same thing....? I don't.
  3. I don't know - it's what Xcel energy puts on the bill. Apparently it's close to a ccf: From the bill: 115.75ccf x 1.0144 = 117 therms From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Therm So apparently that's not all anybody knows.
  4. Cost is going to fluxuate based on local prices. Last month, we used 117 therms at a cost of $134.54. That's for a 1,400 square foot two level home (technically there's a finished basement, but that doesn't get much of the heat). The month before that we used 73 therms at a cost of $84.26. Last year was similar. We have a programmable thermostat which helps quite a bit. We set it to 59F at night (10pm-6am -- being on the 2nd floor, it's warmer than that since heat rises and we have blankets). When we're at work, it's 62F (6am-4pm), and when we're home it's 66F (4pm-10pm). On weekends, it's 66F from 10am-10pm. Hope that helps! CW
  5. Everyone thought that was a travesty as well.
  6. How much does that cost? Is that $400 price accurate...? I'm thinking about going, but not sure I want to pay THAT much for it... EDIT: Nevermind, I just found the link G posted
  7. I don't think any receivers have had more than 90 catches in a game... Seriously though, how many receivers had over 90 catches in a year before the year 2000? I know that number is very high nowadays, but I don't believe it happened very frequently in Reed's era. Reed had 90 in one year and 88 in another -- and in his season with 88 receptions, he was playing with another HoF receiver, James Lofton. Speaking of Lofton - he never had more than 71 receptions in a season... Reed also showed he could dominate a game when needed -- Comeback, anyone? There's just no way that Reed shouldn't be in the HoF.
  8. Reed was 2nd in the NFL in career receptions at one point -- behind only Jerry Rice. How can that not be considered an HoF lock? http://sportstalkbuzz.com/tag/jerry-rice/
  9. If a company accepts credit cards, they can't give a discount for using cash. You could report them to the CC companies and they'd lose their right to accept cards in the future. Same thing for stores that require a minimum purchase. http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/cc/20010418a.asp That's a little unfair, don't you think? Do you need a car? Our ancestors didn't have cars, so therefore you don't need one either, right? Times change, and so do requirements. If you're looking at a base necessity for living - then food, water, clothing, shelter are all you "need." But to "live" -- you need more. I will say that the Sunday Ticket necessity is a bit out there, but hey.
  10. Where'd you get 4.875% from??? Bankrate is showing a 30 year fixed is 5.33%, and a 15 year fixed is 5.06%...
  11. Not so fast... *sigh* http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/01/30/senat...ansition-delay/
  12. Blackberry (and lots of other phones) have had the predictive text for eons. Heck, even my Palm had that, and it wasn't even a phone. I hate virtual keyboards - hate them on phones, hate them on remote controls. I have an iPod Touch and I don't see why people think the interface is so slick... It's not very intuitive and too many functions are hidden because there's no physical buttons (well, one...).
  13. My wife makes cream chease and crab filled wontons every now and then - very tasty. http://web.archive.org/web/20060906011434/...gory=Appetizers And she has a killer receipe for artichoke dip! http://web.archive.org/web/20060905120733/...gory=Appetizers

  15. A friend of mine was in vacation in Chicago. First day, she started to feel REALLY sick. Took her to the ER and they determined that her gall bladder was "necrotic" - dying and killing her. She had it removed, but was in the hospital all week. She's fine now, but said it hurt like hell. One of my coworkers had his removed as well, before I started working here, and he was in the hospital for a few days and out of work for a couple of weeks I think. Sorry to hear that -- but apparently it's not that important of an organ.
  16. I've thought that for awhile -- and it's the only thing that makes sense. Which means the writers aren't going that direction.
  17. I thought he started against the Redskins in the season finale in 1990. I know Pro-Football-Reference doesn't list that, but I could've sworn he did....
  18. Don't post them here.

  20. My favorite part of this episode was when they FINALLY addressed the baby that Chief and Caly had -- "Oh, it's not a Cylon halfbreed like Hera, the girl we never talk about anymore -- Caly had an affair that you never knew about! Surprise!!!"
  21. Only you can make up your mind on that. I'd say that if you're careful what you post (ie: "I'm wasted! This is the best weed ever!" is not something you want to post on Twitter....), then it's probably fine. Personal preference.
  22. You'd rather start up yet another thread...?
  23. 1 and 2/3 more red than yellow.
  24. I spend my money on things other than my house in an attempt to help the economy. For example, I'm playing Fallout 3 on my new Epson 7500UB proctor.
