  1. What's the scoring system? Generally HBs score more than WRs in most systems, so I wouldn't trade Williams. Who knows what's going to happen to Fred when Marshawn gets back? It's too dangerous, IMHO, as Williams has proven to be a stud - just starting a bit slow this year. And man, you get to keep a huge roster! We're only allowed to keep 14 -- so no backups for TE, no backups for defense, no backups for kicker -- lots more roster moves are made that way (which increases the pot, which gives more money to the Superbowl players ).
  2. I'd argue that Prison Break did a pretty good job. The second season had nothing to do with escaping a prison, nor did the 4th (although halfway through the 4th, and final, season, things started getting a bit absurd. Heroes did ok as well -- although the second season was FAR weaker than the first. I haven't seen the 3rd season or the current one.
  3. Panda's are cool! http://www.fezam.com/gallery/view_photo.ph...o&id=panda1 http://www.fezam.com/gallery/view_photo.ph...o&id=panda2
  4. So, who should I start this week...? Definitely starting Fred -- NO's defense hasn't shown that it's very good. But who should the 2nd back be? Steve Jackson? He plays GB. Reggie Bush? He plays Buffalo, but might have a big game. Willie Parker? He plays Cincy, so maybe... But not likely. Still not sure Knowshon is ready. What do you think?
  5. You really think going to Vegas to watch JP play in a UFL game will be helpful??? Oh, they will be in Vegas I guess... And getting married there can be cheap... (and tacky) My in-laws paid for the entire wedding. My parents paid for the rehearsal dinner. Very traditional.
  6. Where did you hear that the 360 will play a VOB...? I don't believe that's the case. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qi...20053531AApFWgF
  7. The HD boxes work fine now. They're not as nice as the TiVo units, but they're still functional and have some cool features that aren't available on the older ones (ie: I can setup recordings from the web when I'm at work). Also, if you only have one receiver in the house, you don't pay a monthly fee. the "lease" vs "own" thing is overblown -- it's just a bookkeeping thing on DirecTV's side. First receiver is free, others are $5/month, same price as in the "owning" days. Stickign with SD has its advantages though -- namely, you don't cringe when you see SD.
  8. It's only live on one of my HD DVRs -- the other doesn't seem to have received the software update yet.
  9. The MPEG-4 conversion is related to HD broadcasts only. If you don't have HD, that's why you didn't receive the letter. MPEG-4 uses less bandwidth, so in order for DirecTV to offer all of these HD channels, especially all of the locals, they needed to switch. That's why the HD-DirecTiVo is pretty much obsolete, since none of the HD channels can be recorded. No idea what the author's issue was -- but since I was able to see games on my SD series 2 DirecTiVo, I doubt it was a global issue like he says. Most of the calls/complaints are related to the game being "blacked out" on the Sunday Ticket channels if the game is being broadcast locally (which is a stupid rule, but it's something the NFL has mandated because local channels want you to see their commercials).
  10. Yeah, one of my coworkers said something like, "Do you think the Bills players wish they played in larger markets where they'd be harder to find?" I replied, "Yeah, that worked out really well for Sean Taylor in DC." "Good point..."
  11. What about the one Owens caught....?
  12. But you're missing the point -- if football were 100% analytical, then you wouldn't need a coach, you'd just have a computer on the sideline. There are things to take into account, such as momentum and the tema's psyche? Did you notice how flat we looked for quite awhile after Jackson's fumble? You can't account for that in a formula. Just like poker is not 100% about odds and statistics, neither is football.
  13. I was thinking his nether-regions, but yours is more polite.
  14. You keep trying to sound smart, m'kay?
  15. I'd rather keep Roscoe on the roster than get a 5th or 6th round draft pick... Injuries happen.
  16. We might catch a slight break, since Mike Bell (RB) is banged up. That leaves only Pierre Thomas (who has been hurt too) and Reggie Bush (who is more of a receiving threat, although still very dangerous).
  17. How do you know the stuff WASN'T in a safe? Maybe the thieves took the whole safe! Haven't you seen the movie, Italian Job? The stuff was in a big safe there, and it didn't stop them!
  18. Except that the news broadcast said that it happened when Whitner was celebrating a victory - implying that it was after the game...
  19. Agreed! Especially on some of the wide angle shots of the entire field. Looked like crap - probably just stretched SD.
  20. I actually thought the announcers were very good.
  21. Link? I searched their site and didn't see anything... If true, I bet he wishes they just spray painted his lawn instead...
  22. I agree with you, and it's what I was saying in the chat room. Up 10 -- they get a fluke TD, kick onsides, and are practically in FG range. Up 13 -- they get a fluke TD, kick onsides, and need ANOTHER TD. Much more difficult. And if we would have gone for it, failed, and somehow lost, the same people saying it's stupid to kick would be saying he was stupid for not kicking the FG and that EVERYONE knows you should go up by 13, but Jauron sucks, blah blah blah.
  23. I don't mind the player dances and such -- but the robot on FOX really sucks, and takes up a LOT of screen real estate.
