You're given a task and then a quick message on whether you have to obey or disobey it. It's pretty quick, and is a fun time waster (at least once): http://www.gamenode.com/action-games/obey-the-game/ First try: 83 levels Levels Won: 83.13% Fastest Speed: x9.2 Longest Streak: 15

For an OS with such a supposedly "easy to understand" interface, who came up with the idea that dragging your drive to the garbage can was the best way to eject the thing?! Wouldn't you think that would delete everything (ie: throw it away)?

It's a Mac, doesn't it just work?

Yeah, I'm 1-0. I don't know what the next step is if you win and the guy doesn't pay though... I didn't have to look that far.

Small claims court not only does not require a lawyer, it does not ALLOW lawyers in the courtroom. If she sues him in small claims court and he fails to appear, she wins. Many years ago I had to sue my landlord for my security deposit. He brought a lawyer, and the lawyer started talking. I politely interjected that lawyers were not allowed in court, and the judge confirmed that was true and told the lawyer to sit down and keep quiet. My landlord looked scared at that point, and I won the case easily. Of course there's no guarantee he'll pay the judgement, but I'd at least go to small claims court to get it done. It's a little stressful thinking about it, but in actuality it's really easy. You give your side, he gives his side, and a week later you get the verdict in the mail.

Garcon was looking good until he hurt his hand. Didn't see the field during the 2nd-4th quarters. Otherwise I think he would've been a good play. (that, and TO was sick yesterday... So didn't want to risk him not playing - I hate these Thursday night games ) On the bright side, my opponent had Dallas Clark - but benched him because he thought the Colts wouldn't play their starters very long. I dodged a huge bullet there.

So much for starting Garcon.......

What, someone put a gun to your head before this season and said, "You better leave, OR ELSE!"

Hilarious. -
The reason I'm concerned with Warner is due to his concussion and hip problems. Is he going to play well this week? Seems like a gamble, but it's one I've been considering as well. In Indy, I'm expecting that Wayne won't play all that much since the Colts have the #1 seed wrapped up, so I think he'd get to play more due to that. I've thought about TO, but he's so streaky it's hard to say... So many decisions, and won't know the right one until Monday!!! But keep throwing out suggestions - gives me more to think about.

Fired for running a fantasy football league
Fezmid replied to KD in CA's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, that's not true. Probably can't sue, but you can get unemployment. I was let go for basically the reason you listed -- but I was awarded unemployment because it wasn't a justified reason... ...and then I got a 15% payraise by going to a new company a month later. -
Initially I was leaning towards Warner, but I'm worried about his hip and his concussion... That's why I'm thinking about keeping Rivers. I think I'll put Garcon in for Roddy White right now, and then see how White progresses during the rest of the week to determine if I put White or Gonzoles in... Pretty sure I'm going to keep my runningbacks the same -- Fred Jackson is just too inconsistent I think.

League is a point per 10 yards (rushing/receiving), 6 for a TD for WR/TE/RB, and a point per 20 yards passing, 3 for a passing TD for QB. My current starting lineup looks like this: Phillip Rivers, QB Steven Jackson, RB Knowshon Moreno, RB Roddy White, WR Marques Colston, WR Tony Gonzalez, TE Robbie Gould, K Packers defense My bench has these players: Kurt Warner, QB Fred Jackson, RB Reggie Bush, RB Samkon Gado, RB (in case Jackson got hurt) Terrell Owens, WR Pierre Garcon, WR, Indy I also have the option of using 3 receivers and dropping the TE. So I'm unsure who to start this week. To make matters worse, Indy plays on Thursday - so it doesn't give me a lot of time to see how the other guys do. For example, Roddy White has been nursing a bad knee and is missing his starting QB and RB in Atlanta. He also goes up against Reeves from the Jets, so I'm thinking about benching him and putting Garcon in his place, since the Colts face Jax, and may rest Wayne. I think I'm set with HB, unless Steven Jackson's back starts to bother him, in which case I need to decide between the other three guys. Bush is hit-or-miss, Gado is a backup for a reason, and Jackson faces NE (who he did well against in week 1). If I win the game this week, I'm in the Superbowl and am guaranteed some cash so this is important! Any opinions on my lineup are welcome

Interview question I am faced with.....
Fezmid replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
It's a common interview technique. Another one is the "manhole question." Basically, they ask you why manhole covers are round. There's multiple reasons, so they expect you'll give one or two reasons (for example: a round disc can't fall through the hole and kill someone). Then they challenge you -- "No, that's not the reason - the real reason is that it's easier to move them by rolling -- it'd be really hard to move a square one." They don't care about your answer, they want to see how you react when you're being challenged. Microsoft used to ask this question. -
Technically it's St. Paul style, not Minneapolis style.... Those are some great Christian values they're teaching there....

Wow, great 22nd post. Very insightful. You're a Bills "fan" who wants the team to lose.

I know I am, thank you.

Shopping, who is done? Who is just starting?
Fezmid replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My wife wanted to do that this year -- we went through the JC Penny/Salvation Army "Adopt an Angel" program: http://angel.jcpenney.com/?mscssid=6b59646...5741C8B20934714 She spent a lot of time looking at the kids - most wanted MP3 players and other electronic gadgets. Then she found one teen who wanted a some books -- she loves reading too, so decided to adopt him. It's a great idea, especially if you have the means to do it. -
Hey, the cat made the video and posted it. All I did was stumble upon it and post it here.
