  1. I kind of wondered along these lines as well. Now that homosexuality and trangenderness is predominately accepted and is even portrayed as cool in movies and news etc, are more kids going for it to be cool or rebellious? I also wonder why homosexuality and trangenderness has gone from deviant to accepted in the last 10 years but blacks haven't been able to do something similar? They haven't certainly got a rawer deal and have been trying to change it longer than anyone. Perhaps they have better marketing? Puzzles me.
  2. That and here in Seattle we have a bigly defense contractor (Boeing). War is good for bidness.
  3. Maybe not political, but a fan at sports events today get a healthy dose of patriotic indoctrination and war celebration. I was at the Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners game yesterday. Before the game they had the traditional Star Spangled banner. OK (although I did see one Colin Kapernick circa 2016 protestor). Then at the 7th inning stretch it's everybody back up for more removing hats/hand over your heart action for "God Bless America". Then later, a military person comes out and AGAIN everyone stands up and cheer (they do this at Bill's games too) as they played the Army Dog song. Yay war!! And this was the day AFTER Miltary Appreciation Day at the ball yard. How much is enough?
  4. I'm thinking C&W. Give me some more, I might be able to do something with this.
  5. I'm going with Living Color. If they don't count, then Jethro Tull (won the first heavy metal Grammy, look it up).
  6. As far as Japan and Germany post WW II, did the Germans or Japanese resist? Did they plant IEDs for our troop's to run over, or stage insurgent attacks against our troops? I'm asking because I don't know. As far as Germany goes, we only had to occupy 1/4th if the country while Russia, Great Britain and France occupied the rest. The situation of one country attacking another country unprovoked and takes over with 100,000+ occupying troops is quite a bit different than when 2 countries try take over the world (pre curssors to Pinky and the Brain) and are stopped and surender IMHO.
  7. I am curious to see if it blew the tunnels up or not. Goodness knows we tried like heck to blow them up in Viet Nam without much success.
  8. If it weren't for football, I'd hate the NFL.
  9. Not sure if the is the correct place, but we just dropped the Mother Of All Bombs on Afganistan. http://www.cnn.com/2017/04/13/politics/afghanistan-isis-moab-bomb/index.html
  10. I have thought about the computers/music connection and have a few ideas. First, music note values are binary, like computers. We have whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, eighth notes, sixteenth notes etc. A page of sheet music is like a computer program. You follow it sequentially except when You have repeats (loops), first and second endings (if then else), DS al Fine (go to) etc. The whole math aspect of music carries well to computers. It's conceptual. You can see it written but can't actually see it's execution. Same as a computer program. It's a symbolic language (computers and music). Probably goes a lot deeper than that, but that's what I've been able to come up with.
  11. I hope he fires him and hires Katrina Pierson.
  12. I can totally believe the guitar part. I too work in computers and software and the business is over run by musicians. I have been able to gain noteriety and career advancement by playing drums and keyboards in company bands at multiple computer companies. I don't do Fakebook and Twitter either for pretty much the same reasons. That and the big brother aspects of them.
  13. Really. Just accept pre season for what it is. A money grab by the NFLand practice game time for bubble players and backup QBs. Since we love to develop QBs, you'd think Bills fans would love it. Give TJ and CJ and whoever else some time to play in a (sort of) real game. Even though it looks like real football, it's not. Accept it for what it is. If you don't like it, don't watch.
  14. Perhaps, but really you're just making Rhino's point. For a regime change to really work takes one with a rather large occupation for a long period of time. Our system of government wasn't built for that and the American people have no patience for it once it actually gets going. Since we gets new leader every 4 to 8 years, no president wants to be bogged down in someone else's occupation, so they kill it. Same thing happened with Viet Nam. Should we have stayed there too? How is the Afganistan occupation going?
  15. My pick for Democrat presidential candidate in 2020 is either Corey Booker or Al Frankenstein.
  16. Clowns and Jets immediately come to mind.
  17. I'm open minded, post your link (if you really have one with an explanation of how it fell) and I'lll read it.
  18. That's the BIG question for me. Wasn't included in the 911 report ... One couldn't do a better demolition if one tried. Can anyone here explain it?
  19. Peggy Lee knows best. She was ahead of here time! https://youtu.be/64qYKrJNt6c
  20. We'll never know because she lost.
  21. You're either with us, or against us.
  22. You're probably right. I just had to get a dig in an Scott. Dilbert used to be so good. All of us office schlubbs could relate to it. Probably because he was one of us. Then he quit his job and no longer can relate. Now Dilbert is just dumb and unfunny IMHO. Serious question, does anyone think Dilbert now days is funny?
