  1. I'll know we picked the right guy when he's standing at midfields with confetti in his hair hoisting our first (of several) Lombardis.
  2. i havs had a good time watching the yellow dog D's and pundits aghast that the smear job accusations have come out of left field with NO EVIDENCE. The nerve of that guy. wolf had guests on and asked them where these allegations came from and they had no clue. I wish he would have had Rhino on. I'm thinking he could have helped them out.
  3. A Carbon Tax has been put on the ballot via citizen's initiative twice in my state (Washington, one of the greenest) but has been voted down twice due to the tax increase. In order to do the New Green Deal, it would require everyone buying in and taking it in the shorts in the interest of future generations. This is why I think it has no chance. You can't get everyone to buy into ANYTHING, mush less something that won't even help them much if any. And then there's the politics involved. @transplantbillsfan - What do you think about using geo engineering to help this? I think this is a direction that has a better chance of success than everyone cutting back on things and paying higher taxes.
  4. It's bidness as usual. They're playing hardball. Past similar cases i can think of include the "Dean Scream" and Thomas Eagleton and Biden's plagiarism. I still wonder if Gary Hart was set up.
  5. Andrew is. He is actually talking about and has a plan for what I see as a threat on the horizon which is jobs being eliminated by automation and AI. I have been listening a little bit. I kindof like him. He seems really smart. I like that he's addressing the problem of AI and automation and the Gig economy reducing jobs and incomes of people holding jobs to be eliminated. Not 100% sure UBI is the answer. I question that if people are given $1000 a month they will use it for productive purposes. It would have a big impact on the economy however. I see this as probably the number one problem for society moving forward. What are people gonna do and how are they going to support themselves? Yet no one except Andrew and Bernie ever talk about it. I also like that he doesn't even talk about Trump. We know, he's a racist/sexist/homophobe/xenophone/LGBTQ hater/Russia conspirator/scumbag. What are you going to do besides investigate? Andrew at least talks about real stuff. Someone else mentioned him and Rogan. I like this one: Automation and AI is coming and is in fact already here and growing. We need a plan. Andrew at least has a plan and it's well thought out.
  6. This is why I miss B-Man. When things would get like this he'd post a few links and change the subject.
  7. worked for the Marlboro man. What could go wrong?
  8. I think it's because the bricks are red. They have a Red Square at the University of Washington as well but I have never seen that one like I have the one at WWU. WWU is a beautiful campus. When I took my daughter there for a visit I decided I wanted to go there.
  9. The videographer is showing his ignorance. I live in Washington state where people smoke a lot of weed and have been around a lot of people smoking weed and I have NEVER in 40+ years see someone react this way after smoking weed. And, my daughter graduated from there! I think they call that area where she is Red Square.
  10. Thanks for posting Gug. Does sound cool. If you go, have fun. I miss the days described in this quote. for me, that's still the case. DRUM MACHINES HAVE NO SOUL !!
  11. mid april is this week. hang on. We're almost there ... I'm looking forward to seeing it as well. I wonder how many people will actually read any of it vs those that will get from their FakeBook feed what hey should think about it. anything more that 140 characters is TL;DR.
  12. Exactly. The Smollet case, like the OJ case proves the system works. A rich black man can get off just like a rich white man. But the Smollet case even goes a step further. It verifies that a rich/famous person can call on rich powerful friends to work the good ole boy network to get off. Only in this case instead of it being white good ole boys, they was all minority women pulling the strings. Progress.
  13. Deshaun Watson. I love the Tredavian Nightmare and all, but he ain't a Pro Bowl QB after 2 years.
  14. If it's not uncommon you should be able to name at least one case I would think.
  15. OK, Third time. Serious question. Are you aware of any other case in US history where a person made false accusations and lied to the police and then had to pay for the police investigation? Actually he was accused of 16 crimes but they were not prosecuted (which should be investigated btw). It's also a crime to lie to the police. Third time too. What he did was super lame and destructive and he should be hung by his toe nails in the town square for 2 weeks, but that's not how our justice system works.
  16. If I understand correctly YOU are not paying taxes for veterans because you live in Canada. You don't have to because your country was smart enough to not get involved. Good for you.
  17. Of course it does. And especially when it comes to Uncle Joe's (and Hillary's) decision making. And you ARE still paying taxes to take care of the veterans from the Iraq War in the form of VA disability, VA medical care, cities dealing with homeless vets etc. and you will for the rest of your life just as you are still doing with Viet Nam vets from 45 years ago. Does Viet Nam still matter? Those that don't consider history are doomed to repeat it.
  18. If the civil trial finds him guilty or whatever and rewards damages to the city I suppose that's OK I guess. I agree with the Chef. Slippery slope. I could see this morphing into the day when on my way home from work I think I see a crime happen. I report it. It turns out to be false. A bureaucrat decides it was a hoax and sends me a bill for $40,000. These kinds of things even though they feel good at the time often come back to bite one in the buttox later. Serious question: Are you aware of any other case where a person falsely accused a crime and was required to pay for the police investigation? Again, I think what Jussie allegedly did is abhorrent. I want to prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Not make up new laws. Foxx should be investigated and prosecuted if wrong doing can be proved.
  19. It was coach McDermott's call. Whaley and I wanted to take Watson with the pick.
  20. This is American politics at its finest. The concern everyone is freaked out about is if the hugs too many people or not. Meanwhile questioning his track record of bad decisions goes unquestioned. Like should we attack Iraq or not? Uncle Joe said yes. Or should we do in Osama? Uncle Joe said no.
  21. Wouldn't that be a crime he should be prosecuted for? How can it be proven to be a hoax of there is no trial? Are there other cases you can point to where a person made a false accusation and then the accuser was required to pay for the police investigation without due process? I think what Jussie is accused of is abhorrent. But making him pay for the investigation without due process is a wrong remedy IMHO.
