  1. Exactly. The Smollet case, like the OJ case proves the system works. A rich black man can get off just like a rich white man. But the Smollet case even goes a step further. It verifies that a rich/famous person can call on rich powerful friends to work the good ole boy network to get off. Only in this case instead of it being white good ole boys, they was all minority women pulling the strings. Progress.
  2. Deshaun Watson. I love the Tredavian Nightmare and all, but he ain't a Pro Bowl QB after 2 years.
  3. If it's not uncommon you should be able to name at least one case I would think.
  4. OK, Third time. Serious question. Are you aware of any other case in US history where a person made false accusations and lied to the police and then had to pay for the police investigation? Actually he was accused of 16 crimes but they were not prosecuted (which should be investigated btw). It's also a crime to lie to the police. Third time too. What he did was super lame and destructive and he should be hung by his toe nails in the town square for 2 weeks, but that's not how our justice system works.
  5. If I understand correctly YOU are not paying taxes for veterans because you live in Canada. You don't have to because your country was smart enough to not get involved. Good for you.
  6. Of course it does. And especially when it comes to Uncle Joe's (and Hillary's) decision making. And you ARE still paying taxes to take care of the veterans from the Iraq War in the form of VA disability, VA medical care, cities dealing with homeless vets etc. and you will for the rest of your life just as you are still doing with Viet Nam vets from 45 years ago. Does Viet Nam still matter? Those that don't consider history are doomed to repeat it.
  7. If the civil trial finds him guilty or whatever and rewards damages to the city I suppose that's OK I guess. I agree with the Chef. Slippery slope. I could see this morphing into the day when on my way home from work I think I see a crime happen. I report it. It turns out to be false. A bureaucrat decides it was a hoax and sends me a bill for $40,000. These kinds of things even though they feel good at the time often come back to bite one in the buttox later. Serious question: Are you aware of any other case where a person falsely accused a crime and was required to pay for the police investigation? Again, I think what Jussie allegedly did is abhorrent. I want to prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Not make up new laws. Foxx should be investigated and prosecuted if wrong doing can be proved.
  8. It was coach McDermott's call. Whaley and I wanted to take Watson with the pick.
  9. This is American politics at its finest. The concern everyone is freaked out about is if the hugs too many people or not. Meanwhile questioning his track record of bad decisions goes unquestioned. Like should we attack Iraq or not? Uncle Joe said yes. Or should we do in Osama? Uncle Joe said no.
  10. Wouldn't that be a crime he should be prosecuted for? How can it be proven to be a hoax of there is no trial? Are there other cases you can point to where a person made a false accusation and then the accuser was required to pay for the police investigation without due process? I think what Jussie is accused of is abhorrent. But making him pay for the investigation without due process is a wrong remedy IMHO.
  11. The Pegulas hired Rex after they had a good ole time watching the Super Bowl with him. Whaley reportedly wanted Coach McDermott. I'm not saying Hotrod was the end all be all and we didn't need an improvement. I wanted us to draft Watson who IS a top 10 QB right now as is Mahommes if you wanted to go that way. I hope Wonder Boy is but it remains to be seen and he is nowhere close as I type.
  12. Personally I despise W Bush for getting us into an un necessary costly war resulting in 6,000+ dead Americans and 1,000,000+ brown people on a bald faced out and out pre meditated LIE. Iraq and the rest of middle east is still in shambles and are and will continue to pay the freight for it for quite some time.
  13. just give me a top 10 scoring offense and a D decent at keeping teams out of the EZ and we win a lot of games. Matters not how you score them. You can score 'em all on D if you want. There are no style points in football ?. Do you think the 2016 team could make the playoffs with the pre Rex 2014 D?
  14. I watched Poirot once with my in laws. Now I know where they got the idea for Monk, which I have watched many times and am a fan.
  15. How many points do you get for passing yards? The 2015 team was 12th in points per game The 2016 team was 10th in points per game You win games by scoring more points than your opponent. I still maintain a little defense would have helped. I'll also give Beane GM offensive cred when he can put together a WR corps like we had back then including Sammy, Woods, Hogan, Goodwin, and Harvin. Just win baby.
  16. A little defense would have helped. The talent on the 2015 and 2016 teams WAS playoff quality. That team would have made playoffs if only Rex could coach defense which evidently he could not. Not Doug''s fault.
  17. We'll know we have a top 5 GM when we are one of the top 5 teams in the league. A good place to start would be home playoff win.
  18. No. It's just an observation. My own opinion on it that men and women are different. Their brains work different. Their motivations are different. This has a whole lot more to do with why 95% of truck drivers are men whereas 98% of kindergarten teachers are women than society programming them that way.
  19. True. I just posted it to see how interesting it is that doesn't mention their alleged top priority, health care. Don't click SUBMT .
  20. I find it interesting when this whole bit of equal pay and equal representation comes up in fields like upper management and CEOs and movie directors etc. Yet 95% of truck drivers are men and no one cares about equality there. Same in the construction field. Similar to in the IT field. I have worked in it my whole career. When I first started, 1/2 of the students in college were female and many were really good. When I started working many computer jobs were held by women. Now it's mostly management, project owners, project managers, and scrum masters that are women. The CEO of my company told me they want to hire women but can't find many. I asked my Mother-in-law about this once who worked in HR at DEC, She said at first the women wanted to do what they men do. They wanted to "carry a bag" which was the euphemism for going on site and fixing the boxes. Then she said it became where they all wanted to manage the guys that carry bags. I think women can do all of these things but in a lot of cases choose not to.
  21. You might want to check that. I just got a survey from the D party today asking about my preference in regards to prez candidates and legislative priorities. In the priorities section, It didn't mention health care once. In fact it wasn't mentioned in the survey anywhere. It did mention protecting a woman's right to "choose" however. Here's the link in case you want to check it: http://action.dccc.org/survey/2019-april-democratic-priorities-survey
  22. I don't know. I'm feeling a little down on Coach McDermott right now because I thought we should have won the SB last year.
  23. You just have me confused with someone else.
