  1. I do not think he will be resigned. It was a good effort Brian, but I think Sunday finally showed the Fans what Chan saw all season...there isnt much being offered by Brohm. Levi stays, Draft Ricky Stanzi in RD 4.
  2. I would be very upset if Poz isnt resigned. He is a such a good LB with very little help around him in the Front 7. I would like that group Opening Day 2011.
  3. I take everything ESPN says with a grain of salt. They are too often wrong for me to go with their word blindly. For instance, the whole Levi Brown thing when we resigned him after dropping Trent.
  4. A couple of things are at play here. Merriman needed a change of scenery like a fish needs water. Dude needed out of San Diego in the worst way. Neither side was happy with eachother. Secondly, he has had a full year off. For a guy who is as explosive and dominant when healthy as Merriman, a year to "get right" is really a good thing. Personally, I dont think the Bills would have resigned him now if they did not feel good about his health and his desire to return to Pro Bowl form. Honestly, I am very excited about this move, and what it will allow us to do in the draft in April.
  5. If you are questioning the rule, then that is what I am going to discuss. Since this particular play happened so long ago, I just figured you were in fact talking about the rule itself. Since it appears that you are still awfully upset about the call in the playoffs ten years ago, you should get in touch with a pyschologist. He or she will help you get over things that were insignificant to the quality of your life.
  6. They did it in order to create more revenue since its all about the money. Also, the guys that one the two teams playing in the Super Bowl do not play in the Pro Bowl. That would just be stupid. And since the Pro Bowl is a joke, why do you care when it's played?
  7. Grab a football and pretend to throw it. Then pretend to start top throw it and deciding to tuck it. The arm is, in fact, moving forward. Yes the arm is moving toward your body, however it is absolutely moving forward. Therefore if the ball comes out then it is, by definition, an incomplete pass. Its really a simple rule and it just has a bad name. If the guy calls it incomplete way back when then it is known as an incompletion, not the infamous tuck rule.
  8. I think it makes perfect sense. The QB is attempting to pass, when hit tries to tuck the ball so not to fumble. The QB arm is moving forward, he has be hit by defender and ball comes out during forward motion of arm. Incomplete. Its incomplete everytime. Always has been, always will be.
  9. I would say that Fitz is playing at a high level, high enough to let the Bills be competitive, which we havent been lately. Football is won and lost in the trenches. Its a fact. So where is our huge problem? We don't have anyone forcing the opposing QB into hurried throws and 3rd and long situations. What we need more than anything else to turn this ship around is a pass rusher. That guy will force turnovers, give us short fields for the O and Fitz and Co. will make points out of it. Its as simple as that. We need to take the top pass rushing player in the draft and maybe a QB in the 4th or 5th to back-up Fitz. I just don't see how it could be any different. We have a QB. We have a RB. We have a WR corps. We NEED a PASS RUSH.
  10. I have a nook by Barnes and Noble and it is fantastic. I can use it for text books, magazine subscriptions, newpaper subsrciptions, and books galore! Also, each friday you get a free book which is awesome because you are introduced to lots of new authors and genres. The nook is an E-Ink screen, the nook color is not. The nook (E-Ink) screen does require a light to read at night, and they have a handy little book light called a "nook look" that is designed to clip on easily and it does. I havent used a kindle, but I really like the nook for the connection it offers with Barnes and Noble stores everywhere. Free Wi-Fi in store and you can use it for the internet, email, TSW, etc. You can load pictures onto it and make them your screen saver, and it has an Mp3 player with headphone jack. Simply connect your nook to your computer with the USB cord and copy files to your nook. The nook is my recomendation, but I am biased.
  11. I personally think that Bell is going to a terrific RT for us and we are going to draft our LT in the first or second round of this year's draft. Bell has all of the physical tools and is on his way to being an excellent O-lineman for us, but at the RT spot, IMO. Our top-flight LT is still in college.
  12. I called yesterday. Just had a feeling about today and Nelson. Don't believe me? Check my twitter!
  13. After that debacle, there really is nothing to discuss until Wednesday when the new work week begins. Go Bills. See you all Wednesday.
  14. Based on this letter and report (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81ca0a43/article/nflpa-to-players-save-your-pay-for-possible-2011-lockout?module=HP_headlines) I dont think we're going to be watching Fitzpatrick and the Bills next season... I hope I'm wrong, but this is looking really bad...
  15. Jimbo said at his Youth Football Camp that his furthest throw in the air was 78 yards. Pretty sure it wasn't from his knees tho... Don't forget the shoulder reconstruction he had done at Miami as a senior too. He might have thrown it further prior to that injury.
  16. Me and Hamdan are always at ECC.
  17. If the ball is getting passed to SJ13 then LE83 will start to see single coverage. If the ball is being thrown to LE83, then SJ13 will continue to see single coverage. Both can make plays, so the defense is going to have problems. I think we've seen that already with the offensive output in recent weeks.
  18. Line calls are going to be different on every play. Often times a team will have different protections with different names Cup, Fan, Slide, etc. Also, there will be different things that backs and tight ends will have to do based on the playcall. Often times these are built into the playcall in the huddle. So for instance, you are running a flood pattern (2-3 receivers spaced about 5-7 yards apart, running out patterns horizontally) towards the right sideline. The protection for this play might be a slide left (all linemen dropstep with their left foot and pick up the defender to the left) in order to give the QB a clear view of the developing play. The defense, pre-snap or during a dummy count, tip their hand that they are bringing an overloaded pass rush to the right side. The QB sees this and changes the protection to slide right in order to give his team the best oppotunity to have a successful play. Also, the QB can call in a slot reciever to help block, or change a RB's pattern to a wait-and-see pattern. Usually it is the QB worrying about proctections, the Center will call out things he may see, but ultimately its the QB in most cases. I hope that helps.
  19. I just wanna see H. Ward get lit up! I cannot stand that guy. He is such a putz. I wanna see Whitner absolutely flaten him! I'll donate to the fine....
  20. Fitz got his throwing hand stepped on when the bozo jumped on him. He might have had some bruising starting...
  21. I don't comment all that often but I always step to the plate when my boy Hamden's Revenge is being challenged. Listen, Locker has a ton of POTENTIAL. No doubt, he could be very good. You know who else had a ton of Potential? A young man named Trent Edwards, who had the endorsement of the late Bill Walsh. Kyle Boller had a ton of Potential. David Carr, Akili Smith, Tim Couch, Cade McNown, Ryan Leaf, Heath Shuler, Alex Smith etc. All of these guys had the Potential to be great, but they didn't pan out. The ones who looked like sure things (Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Phillip Rivers, Donovan McNabb, Carson Palmer, Matt Ryan, etc) were and have been great for their teams. Locker is perennial loser winning only 12 starts out of 46. To me, a guy getting recruited to play at a school with a "top shelf" QB would like to go and play with him to help everyone's chances of playing in the NFL. So what gives? The guy is inaccurate, fragile, soft, there seems to be no fire, and he just doesn't win. What makes anyone think he will win at the next level? I am not sold on him and I wouldn't draft him anywhere before the second half of the second round, and only that high because I would hold him as a trading piece.
  22. I think that the play was designed just like Hill said. In that situation, 4th and 2 time running out, the defense is naturally going to give up the middle of the field. The Lions made a gutsy call by Motioning Johnson inside betting on the safeties rolling to the sidelines. The game was going to be decided on that play. They put all their eggs in Johnson getting free and Pos making a step forward, as any good LB would do naturally on 4th and short. After that it was easy pitch and catch, but if Poz stepped back, or Mckelvin goes with Johnson and rolls Whitner to the outside receiver, maybe its different. It was a gamble by Detroit, and it paid off. Nice play. No defensive fault, just a well designed play.
  23. Ricky Stanzi from Iowa. Great Player. NFL QB.
  24. I am with Fitz. He should be the starting Qb on this team for a few years if not 10-12. Dude is a great game manager, he is extremely in tune with what the defenses are trying to do and how to counter that action with his offenese. He makes quick decisions, and few mistakes. 31-51 for 299 TD 2INT is a really good day in the NFL, especially for a guy with no line and no run game. I think Buddy and Chan would be absolute idiots to not take the top 3-4 Pass Rusher or the top LT in this year's draft. Protect Fitz with Bell on the RT and your #1 LT and then get some freaking pass rush and some turnovers. If they do that and some players pan out (Moats, Coleman) lose some bums (McCargo, Torbor, Ayodele, All LBs except Poz and maybe Merriman) we could really be a dark horse for the WC next season behind Fitz.
