  1. Whoopty ****. The guy was nothing without Pettine. I said it.
  2. The one so good you never bothered to learn his name? Well, I'm glad you know exactly how good all our FA's will turnout.
  3. ...unless Brady isn't. He alone masks ALL their flaws.
  4. If the reports that the weather in Buffalo making things difficult in the FA marketplace "piss you off" you should take a new hobby. If you haven't already, I'd find one that would help improve your heart health.
  5. Spikes, gone. Talib, gone. Arguably the two most impactful players on their already suspect defense. Now there's the possibility Edelman say 'no thanks' to the Welker treatment. Has their formula finally run its course? Last year was a miracle season for them. Are they finally destined to make a signifiant regression?
  6. No no, you missed the part where Mario was a mistake. Remember, this coming from the guy who wanted to trade him for Skelton. Never mind him being--without question--our best defensive player in 2013.
  7. Mostly because it takes two to tango. If you bought a Volkswagen but could have afforded a BMW, do you inherently hate the Volks?
  8. Geoff Schwartz wanted to play for Buffalo and we refused? Link? If they were Pettine's then Whitner could have been too. Would you have settled for a Whitner/Byrd swap?
  9. Right. Plus, not only wasn't he surrounded by elite guys, but he played half his games against three of the top 10, may be even top 5 d-lines last year. I'm with you, wait and see. Anyone who balks at his contract is willfully ignoring how salaries are escalating for starting FA's. And anyone who says he stinks better as heck produce another FA who would have come in for the same cash or point us toward the can't-miss 22 year old who's also certain to be better.
  10. I hate to disagree on an arbitrary point, but you're wrong. The most emblematic play of Robert Royal's career was when he caught the ball, standing wide open in the back of the endzone, with both heels about a half inch past the boundary. As a Chicagoan for the past eight years, I must chime in. The Bears OLine has been a "problem" consistently. Yet Matt Forte consistently produces at a top 5-10 level. Yet McCown comes in and suddenly there's no quarterback running for his life. They've had systematic OLine issues in Chicago, but it hasn't fallen squarely on the personnel. Remember how good Fitz made our otherwise lackluster guys look? Manning? Brady? There's a reason these guys don't need world beaters in front of them while guys like Cutler do.
  11. Please quantify "overpaid" and "desperate." Can you point to contracts signed in the last 12 months for starting LG's that would indicate we paid too much for this guy? How have you determined he won't be good? There is obviously conflicting data: Polian v. PFF, et al. I'm sorry, but posters that take a hard line on negativity minutes after a guy is signed lose just all their credibility, IMO.
  12. So are you happy with the signing? Or?
  13. Agreed. Considering Levitre got 8M LAST year, his contract seems very middling to me. For all we know, he'll play RG. Plus, in addition to Legursky/Brown, these are the personnel guys who also brought us Glenn and from the scrap heap Peers and Urbrik. I'm guessing they have slightly more credibility than a website who whittles offensive line play to numbers (sounds comical at face value)
  14. Haha, so all the teams he had to play twice a season?
  15. No, but in a recent interview NDGT said he was shocked that FOX wanted it (with Seth MacFarlane EP, lest we forget) because he said it would open his message up to about as broad of an audience as exists. I know you're hung up on the ratings thing, but I think it's been pretty clear since the Cleveland Show that Fox just doesn't say 'no' to Mr. Family Guy.
  16. Had to dig all the way to Poz and Greer to make your point, huh? David Nelson!?
  17. The larger point being that in this era of free agency, especially as contracts continue to sky-rocket (first it was the rookies, now it's the mediocre vets), teams like Green Bay, who've retain a gaudy number of drafted players, they're becoming increasingly rare. But some posters will have you believe that not only is that the norm, but that anything short of that is abject failure.
  18. Tyson has been clamoring for a JFK "we're going to the moon" moment for today's youth. His mission (or so it seems) is to inspire young people to pursue science by instilling wonderment and awe.
  19. weren't we shamed into believing Pittsburgh doesn't let its homegrown talent walk?
  20. Don't sleep on this theory:
  21. In three professional seasons he's completed one of four passes. He's netted 8 yards (17 passing, -9 rushing). Of his three incomplettions, one of them was a pick. But I have no doubt that this thread has at least another three pages left in it.
  22. Based solely on his arm? Sure. Based on what he's actually done? Hell no. Based on his potential as "Brady's protege?" May be. His career stat line is comically bad.
  23. Well, those that choose to believe Russ is no more than "Ralph's puppet" will simply dismiss this report as "more lies." How convenient. As far as I can tell, this smells precisely the same way as it has from the start: like Tim Graham whipped every last drop of negative life out of an otherwise non-situation, out of the otherwise typical professional push/pull that I'm sure exists in every professional sports organization.
  24. Bradham's not going to like this one bit.
