You make some very valid arguments, but if the non-objective crowd is told to wait till the season starts to see what we have, shouldn't the criticizers also be told the same? I mean that only seems fair. And as far as manufacturing excuses goes, I see both sides doing that. The fact that there are 2 sides to an argument is really a good thing. I tend to be more on the positive outlook side. What gets my goat is when the two sides clash and the pissing match begins. When people refuse to respect one another, the argument loses all validity no matter what side you are on.

Moats is being given an opportunity. He is actually doing the defensive play calling with the 2nd string defense(somebody has to do it). It's not like he is being relegated to the practice squad. What's the big deal? Merriman is playing very well and Batten and Coleman are doing well.

No season ending injuries. They can handle it.

I thought it was interesting that Moats at ILB is calling the plays for defense on the second stringers because he is familiar with the playbook. Batten is looking good out there at OLB as well. Hope Sheppard gets in there soon.

Early reports are that Shawne Merriman has been tearing it up for 3 consecutive practices. Fred Jackson's comment was, "He's back". Wannstache says he's doing everything that everyone else on the team is doing. You can read more here. A big thumbs up to Merriman. Things are shaping up for our defense and right now the loudest noise is being made by this former 3 time Probowl OLB. That is all......Lights Out.

I heard Hangartner held his own against Jasper. I'd like to see Urbik go toe to toe with him. Urbik has not been doing too good so far. I'm beginning to think that Hangartner should replace Urbik for the starters. Or put Jasper on the OL?........naw. I like seeing Jasper on defense. But I'm keeping an eye on Urbik he is getting blown up by Dareus and getting yelled at for screwing up position drills.

Sorry, I don't see the Dolphins getting to 6 wins let alone 8. They look terrible. We will sweep them. I also think NE is on the decline and that they don't win the division.

Adding a good TE really supports the offensive line. He can not only be used to block on running but also passing plays which covers up weaknesses on the line. Honestly, I think a good TE does more to improve an offense than a right tackle. Because of the tight end's versatility, he also helps to disguise plays. Don't say Chan doesn't use TE's. That argument is just bunk. We were so short on the position that we took a flyer on Chandler late in the season. This a definite area of weakness for this team. If Boss comes with a reasonable price tag we should be all over that.

Surgery on both knees at the end of last season is what's worrisome. And Barnett has had some injury problems too. Would be just like Buffalo to take a gamble on them. Think Merriman.

Barnett's visit to Detroit was cancelled and he is still talking to Buffalo. I think he found himself a new home. However, the Seahawks asked Lofa Tatupu to take a pay cut and he has asked to be released. He is a 3 time probowler but played through knee problems last year and had surgery on both knees at the end of the season. Here's the link. We could possibly add both linebackers and have some serious firepower at that position if they are healthy enough to play.

Kinda different going to camp instead of OBD. Did he want to speak with coaches first before going to Buffalo to sign? Did he go there for a physical?

You forgot to mention that Merriman is still upright. You could be right about Levi. I'm not sure what to think about all of the gadget type QBs, though. Kinda scares me.
