  1. Some offensive line shuffling after 2 preseason losses and the posts just keep getting wackier. I think I'm going to have to sign off of TBD for a few days because it's nearly impossible to find anything worth discussing.
  2. Just adding to some names all ready posted. T. Troupe A. Carrington Would Merriman be considered a breakout player at this stage in his career?
  3. Would you guys listen to yourselves? Tim Graham states that the first team RB position is CJ's to lose and everyone including Fred assumes that Graham is also saying that Fred is therefore a second stringer. Fred Jackson then jumps the gun and goes public with a statement about not being respected. After practice, Gailey is caught completed off guard with questions about Jackson not feeling respected. He said CJ and Fred are both #1's. He also said that Fred was a bit ahead of CJ. He clearly was not putting CJ ahead of Jackson on the depth chart and Tim Graham's comments were off the mark. Now, I come into this forum this morning and you guys are still going on over something that never happened.
  4. Mark Ludwiczak tweet 2 hours ago Yea, let's see how this works out.
  5. Chan says Fred is ahead of CJ and that they are both starters. Linky
  6. I don't understand the Spiller bashing. While I agree that Jackson is the clear starter it does not mean that Spiller should simply sit on the bench. The Bills invested in the kid to play football and he should be given first team reps so he can learn. He can't do it by layin' around twittling his thumbs.
  7. Bell had his hands full. Von Miller was speed rushing to the outside and Dumervil was stunting to the inside. He slipped and fell flat twice trying to redirect his body because he was caught moving in the wrong direction. Plus he got no help chip blocking. That said, he definitely has to improve. I'm not however ready to throw him under the bus. Everyone wants results right now. Gailey is just doing his job and what we want doesn't mean jack to him. I wonder what will happen next week to get the chicken littles crying.
  8. Read the Buffalo News article: Linky Gailey intentionally did not allow blitzing because he wanted to evaluate deficiencies in the base defense. He did not allow chip blocking on offense either because he wanted to evaluate how well individual players performed in just a base scheme. I thought something about this game didn't look right. This game was about evaluating talent, not winning. We'll have to ride this out to see how things progress.
  9. I agree. This rule blows.
  10. Chan said he did not bring a lot of blitzes. He wanted to see how the LBs and secondary would do without the blitz by just running a base defense. He's evaluating. Batten and Coleman were not given the opportunities to get after the QB.
  11. Hangman got dumped by his previous team after playing that position. Not sure that would work.....maybe.
  12. There appears to be some problems with guys knowing their assignments and knowing how to use proper technique. Urbik for instance is a big strong guard but he is getting beat because his use of leverage is poor(he just doesn't get low enough and he is slow). Bell's problems dealing both Dumervil and Von Miller would be a headache for any LT in the league. For now, I'll give the guy a pass but not for long. I think Chan swapping Levitri has more to do with his size than anything(Rinehart has been doing well in camp and he has 30lbs on Levitri). Pears doesn't seem to be doing bad. At least he is doing his job which is more than some others on the line. Wood is a stud, but I tend to agree with the OP somewhat. We need our best OL in there and Hangartner is one of them. Whether Wood or Hangartner is the center, I just don't know. We know Wood can play guard, but we don't know if Hangartner is any better at guard than the younger guys. I do know that Hangartner was stopping Kellen Heard and Micheal Jasper in their tracks in camp and for a guy as small as Hangman, that's pretty impressive. The offensive line looked pretty bad as a unit in both preseason contests so far. Can they get their act together? That is the question. But at this stage, going into a complete panic and bringing in replacements could possibly do more harm than good. These guys are young and my experience with young people is that they can be boneheaded sometimes. Maybe they just need to get their heads outta their a$$. I'm still glad that we have a big influx of defensive talent added to the team. We needed that more than anything. Buffalo Bills football just doesn't seem right without a dominant defense. What we have on offense though is going to have to do until we can actually find something better. Maybe that will happen this year, but most likely it'll have to wait until next. Crying for old Joe blow fatso this year just seems wrong to me.
  13. It would not be optimistic if you wait until after they win.
  14. I really don't see 5 yards making that big of an impact.
  15. I remember shortly after the Spiller pick, there was an article about how Nix believed a premium running back produced better results than a premium tackle for rushing yards. There was something about data to back that up.
  16. I want to see Batten get 2 sacks again. Before Aaron Williams got his interception against Chicago he was getting beat pretty bad. I'd like to see improvement there. The second string offense was horrible and I'd like to see some signs of improvement. I want to see Spiller move the chains. Dareus needs to back up his talk. I want to see if our Wild Bill QB can throw too. I want to see more production from Thigpen as well. I'd like to see solid evidence that the D can stop the run against Denver's vaunted zone blocking scheme. I could go on for a while with this but I think these are the biggest things right now.
  17. This is the highest we have picked in the draft in a long time. It stands to reason that this would be the best draft in years. Just sayin'.
  18. Cris Brown is reporting that Reggie Corner has been the most productive corner in camp. Although he hasn't had as many interceptions as some, he has more pass breakups than anyone. Just thought I'd mention this since you didn't bring up his name. Our secondary is looking pretty good all around. The line is looking incredibly dominant and there should be some exciting plays on this side of the ball this year. As a result, I think there will be an increase in sacks and interceptions. I also think there will be a decrease in rush yards allowed. All in all, it does look like there is a lot to be optimistic about with the D.
  19. News without a source is not news. Moran doesn't have a thing or this would be all over the media. He'd better be careful. Merriman isn't afraid of suing someone.
  20. Four pages because Vick has a conspiracy theory? Really?
  21. He came out of practice to have a trainer look at his ankle, but then went right back to practice. Took a couple of minutes tops. I wouldn't read too much into it.
  22. One word, "No".......Direct, to the point, and absolutely no hesitation when answering. That is what a coach does. What did you expect?
