Reed would be signed in five minutes...what are you talking about? He is very solid for a #3. He had a good year. Marv did right by extending him.

Ralph to Marv, Jauron and Overdorf
Mike formerly from Florida replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know, I've written some nasty things about Ralph, but one thing I have to say about him this offseason...he sounds serious about winning now! He has spent money (too vigorously in my opinion), and he has made it clear to Marv and Dick where to target their efforts. After last season, he has made it clear he wanted to run the football and stop the run from the very beginning. I know it seems obvious to us (and to Marv), but he has shown he wants to get it done (which he hasn't always done in the past). The old man is still lucid and has all his marbles straight. Nobody should make jokes about the old man's clarity of mind anymore especially that circus of a sport's station. -
I think Hughes will be drafted anywhere from 65 to 85. But, I'm no expert, believe me...I'm just having a little fun. BTW, I went against my hunch that Marv only drafts D in the first round because he traded down and was not able to get Poz. So shockingly, he took WR which I think with Turner and Meachem, this would be a killer offense along with our revamped O line. Plus he shored up lb and cb. Pretty good draft if I must say so myself. Is it realistic, I have no clue.

OK...lets go on record and...

...Predict our draft for the first three rounds. Show some gonads and take a chance--- I say: 1) Bills trade Baltimore's three, next year's Baltimore three and next year's six for Michael Turner right before the draft. 2) Trade down to GB's #16 and get the extra thirds back for this year and next year 1- Draft WR Robert Meachem (that's right--WR! He will make an impact this year at some point.) 2- Draft LB Justin Durant out of Hampton (Bills' love small schools...might be #3 best linebacker) 3- Draft CB Daymeion Hughes (Cal player maybe ex-Cal coach Marv likes) 3- Draft Andy Alleman OG (sleeper pick) Marv now fills all the thin positions with two trades. -
Updated player weights

No wonder he gets crushed in the running game. It's not the tackles, my friends, its the ends. Not only that, how many times did we see them take themselves out of the play by rushing hard from the outside and leaving their gap wide open. It's not just weight, it's scheme and discipline within the scheme. Schoebel needs to gain some weight fast. I'm glad to see Crowell up to a very solid 246 lbs and Ellison inching his way to 230. -
Mike Schneck VS Jason Whittle

Something tells me Brad Butler is going to push for the starting R guard position. I think Walker is too tall for Guard as JP will not be able to see over him. -
Is Mccargo healthy?

Didn't I read somewhere his first surgery wasn't done properly...something about he needed to have pins placed, and this time they did that, or am I thinking of some other player? Can someone confirm this? -
What do you know who is good or not? These guys watched film until their eyes bled and you just decided only Dockery is good. Walker is still an upgrade, and so is Whittle. Gandy, Pennington are out of the starting line-up and will make solid depth. I'm sure Ralph, McNally, and Marv didn't just throw out $25MM to some guy who's a dork. Stop the whining... we have an above average line now with a dominating left side and a more than adequate center. JP will shine and the running game will start to take advantage of the better run-blocking.

Marv will not draft a runningback in the first round especially when he has so many defensive needs. Runningback is the easiest and quickest position to fill especially as a rookie. Now saying that, if Marv is thinking of moving up to the latter stages of the first round, then he may go RB first and then pull-in a Poz or David Harris.

ABSOLUTELY. That's why I was extraordinarily dumbfounded by the number of people that blasted the Bills' management for not drafting Matt Leinart last year. The fact is I would have bet a year's salary that he would have held out a la John Elway with the then-Baltimore Colts. Again, this is part of the "character" issue Marv talks about. If you really want to play football for the game itself and not just the money and fame, and are thankful for being blessed to make it this far, you don't care who drafts you.
