  1. Don't get Dr. Trooth started. Slice this state off at Rockland and Putnam Counties and if you lump all of the counties north of that, allow me to introduce to you the the poorest state in the USA. We are the highest taxed state residents in the country.... and guess what, we are about to inaugurate Eliot Spitzer, governor... more spending, less business... more fiscal insanity. I've got 5-7 yrs. to retire. As a lifelong NY resident, when I leave this state heading south to greener pastures, I pledge to stop at the Pennsylvania - NY border, drop my drawers, bare my ass as it faces Albany... maybe rip a good fart or two and kiss this dreadful sesspool adios! How I've survived in this state for so long is either a testament to my fortitude or validation that I'm insane... and I'm leaning heavily toward the later.
  2. Yes, you are looking for respect. What those guys said is the 'trooth'. You have in Miami, a crappy Oline. Two prominat rejects known as LJ Shelton and Bennie Anderson. Surrounded by at least two, and maybe three other olinemen that suck. You have a QB with a canon arm that used to be extremely mobile before he tore up his ACL less than a year ago. This once mobile QB now has to assimilate with a different team (that has an offensive line that can't pass block an has marginal ability to run block), learn a new offense, and deal with the fact that he no longer has the mobility he once had. I'd say that's a lot to deal with. Then throw in an NFL defense, especially one that has been re-tooled and the opposition doesn't have a lot of tape on, it's got to compound that QBs problems. Look, the Bills have been a disgrace to the NFL over the past 5 seasons. Counting this season and the past six, they've had 4 head coaches. And only once during that span did they manage to climb above 'average', and at that, by only one game. They've done nothing that I can see deserving of any respect. You can't honestly say they'll be favored in any game against the 'big boys'... Pats, Pitt, Colts. They are 1-1 for Christ's sake... and coming off a 5-11 season and playing a lot of rookies and 2-3 year players. So, why would you want to give them a lot of attention and respect. After two games, they haven't earned schitt!! If they go 10-6 or 12-4, then, yeah... they deserve a lot of respect and attention. If those guys on NFL Insider touted the Bills defense at this juncture, how foolish and credible would they be when the Bills get lit up good a few times in the coming weeks? Yeah, the Bills have looked pretty good as a team, and especially on defense for a couple of games. Are you willing to bet your house that it's going to continue for 14 more games? I'll take that bet if you're willing to make it. Let's keep it real. two games is not a trend and two games does not make a season. And, two games earns you no respect.
  3. Where are you going with this? If I understand you correctly, it was 1st down and the Jets pulled a QB sneak and gained 3 yards. If they gained 3 yards on 1st down, why is that a bad thing? Does it matter whether they gained those 3 yards on a sweep, run up the middle, screen pass, reverse, or quick out? Last thing I knew, 2nd and 7 wasn't a bad thing. Certainly manageable. So, I don't understand why it was the 'worst call in the history of history". Either you don't have much knowledge of history, haven't watched the Bills play calling over the past 5 years, or it's just that you hate the Jets (and even if they make a good play it's a bad play). In any case, I don't get what the issue is over that play call if it was for a plus three yards. For it to have been a good play, should the QB have had to gain at least 10 yards or score a touchdown?
  4. BINGO! I believe we have a winner! If Moorman goes down, then what? Hopefully the Bills don't bring in that schlepp they had in training camp. If you aspire to be a good team, and especially a team that prides itself on their special team play, then you damn better have a great deal of data compiled on players who are out there and whether or not their skills are compatible with what the coaches are trying to put together as a team. For a punter, they might include... directional punter?, 'hang timer', a 'blaster', tackling ability, athletic ability, holding for placements, potential to use on kickoffs, potential as a backup kicker, do they have the ability to run or pass out of punt formation, etc., etc., etc. I don't know if there is a more complete punter in the NFL than Moorman. He's a FG holder, a threat to run or pass, smart, good at hang time, direction and can blast the ball. He's the backup place kicker too. So, the Bills are only doing their homework in the event that Moorman goes down. That's a good thing, not a bad thing.
  5. We're not stupid. All that we ask for as Bills fans are honesty from the GM and coach. We don't want any sugar coating or spin... just straight shooting. Well, we've got it now. The significant difference in the Levy-Jauron regime over the last one is just plain, simple, straight shooting. No double-speak. Besides a win against the Dolphins, that is a refreshing change.
  6. I don't think they made any mistake at all. Let's be real...TV is the players NFLPA union steward. So, the Bills are going to tread lightly. Plus, I'm fairly certain that everyone agrees that TV, albeit an albatross of sorts becuase he's always injured, is a 'class act'. Ralph is a little more forgiving and more generous with his money than a scumbag like Robert Kraft... who refused to pay his best player anywhere close to market value. So, these expert writers that talk a lot of BS would-coulda-shoulds.... are the same !@#$s that, on theri best day, could not run a pop warner football team, let alone an NFL franchise. TV is 35 years old. He would not/will not make an apperciable difference in the Bills w/l record this season. The Bills have chose to take the "high road" and pay him. And even if the Bills allow him to sign with another team later this season... perhaps a playoff bound team that needs a little insurance, so be it...TV's playing days for the Bills are essentially overwith. Why not let him hook up with another team if he so desires and the bills are agreable.... it's just the damn right thing to do.
  7. I was on a bus trip once. After the game, we arrived at our bus to see a fight outside the bus next to us. This bus next to us was one of those Laidlaw school buses, so it was a local bunch. Anyway, after the two dudes squared off, the winner jumped back on the Laidlaw bus through the rear emergency door exit, which was wide open. He turns around as he's in the emergency doorway and offers up an apology to the guy he just kicked the sh-- out of. At the same time he offers his hand to guy so as to help him back into the bus. He hoists the guy with one hand up to the bus emergency doorway. One problem... the guy being hoisted through the emergency door was more than a little bit drunk, and didn't duck. His whole face smashed right into the bus above the emergency door... blood all over. He's lucky his neck wasn't broken. I couldn't believe what I just witnessed... I couldn't have made up a story like that.
  8. Please... this guy is nothing a TBD waller with less than average intelligence and access to less than adequate website... basically a blogger with less than average brains. And... let's talk "trooth" here... Moorman wasn't roughed. If the Bills had been flagged for doing the exact same thing to the Pats punter, you and Byrne would have been screeming over what a BS call it was.
  9. Good read. There's a subtle message to this as well... The Center and QB are building a friendship and comradery off the field. I hope a few others on the team are doing likewise... synergy can compensate a whole lot for lack of talent.
  10. Never underestimatre flava flave.
  11. He had a pretty good supporting cast in NO. Deuce, Horn, Stallworth. Yeah... I'd say he's at a crossroads of sorts. I think he has a little better balance of talent with Oakland. If he ends up sucking... most of it will be his fault... unless Moss pulls a TO.
  12. The trooth is simply this... You've got to play and produce no matter who they put in front of you... and when. What difference would it make if JP started? The JP disciples with a thought process as yours would say JP got screwed by having to go against a stout Carolin D and Holcomb got a free pass play the Bengals. Holcomb's an 8 year vet... JP's a 3rd year QB. So what's not fair? Let's stop cottling players.... this is the NFL... either they're professional football players or they're not. If they are starter material, they'll step up to the plate no matter what.
  13. There must be consequences for holding out.
  14. keep it real... the trooth is this... none of the QBs (that would include Nall and the other two) have distinguidhed themself thus far. So, but what evidence, by which anyone can endorse Nall on, I have no clue... only to percieve that you have been fantasizing, not looking at reality. Here's a dose of reality... Dick Jauron and Marv Levy are "win now" guys. Their stance is, what mix of guys give you the best chance to win "TODAY".... NOW.... in the PRESENT. Anyone that percieves that it is not Kelly Holcomb, is disregarding all of the evidence and trooth. True, Holcomb has a girly arm and may only bring a team to a certain level, But with Holcomb, you know what you're going to get. You can't say that about the other QBs. Another thing to consider is Steve Fairchild's offense... downfield passing game that everyone thinks is going to happen. Well, I don't know what the offense will be no more than anyone else... but the kind of QB that the Rams had (with and without Fairchild) was accomplished with rag arm QBs... Warner and Bulger do not have canons for arms. However, they are quick minded and dart throwers and loved to dump off to Marshall Faulk. That type of offense seems to me to be more suitable to Kelly Holcomb than to JP... Nall, I have no idea.... and neither do you.
  15. OK...like everyone else, you're entitled to your opinion. Hillary Clinton stated her opinion yesterday... basically bitching about how everything is going wrong and failed in Iraq. The one thing she didn't, and has not, offered up was her plan to straighten Iraq out... after voting to go to war. So... don't be like Hillary. How about you share with us all how you would have run this organiztion different from Marv had you been introduced as the new GM by Mr. Wilson. Mr Scraps... you're on the clock!!
  16. ?????????????? yeah, right. An overweight PW outperforms (by a mile) anyone on last year's or this year's def. line. This is just a new coach flexing his muscle.
  17. So, WTF did DJ say? Are you gonna leave at that or throw us a bone?
  18. They won't bring anyone in. It just means Ochs, and perhaps Kingsbury will get more work. Worst case scenario for Nall ( if the hammy is torn) is 9 weeks... that makes him good to go in week 4 and a candidate for the PUP list.
  19. Three words: "consider the source."
  20. Please... Kelly the F&B Dog could write a better and more informed piece than this Connor Byrne.... Len Pasquarelli wannabee. At least Kelly's shows logic whether one agrees or not. This Byrne dude probably gets his fantasies from a lot of TBD posters... then writes it up as if if something new and fresh.
  21. So what's the big deal and why is it news? He took one for the team and wants to be shown the money. The Bills have workers compensation insurance and NYS is the best place on the planet for lawyers. Lawyers live to sue, and actually encourage us schlepps to do so. With all of the lawyer ads on TV (Barnes, Alexander & Catalano, Finkelstein & Partners, etc., etc.) why would we be surprised?
  22. Respect is not automatic. Respect is "earned". Anyone that has respect for a team that went 6-10, 9-7, and then 5-11 is just plain confortable with mediocrity... and less.
  23. And... what do all of these SB winning QBs have in common? As I eluded to a couple months back... a QB rating of at least 85. Achieving a QB rating of 85 assures a team of nothing. But if you don't have a QB with a rating of 85 or above, you may as well piss on the fire and call in the dogs, because, essentially, the hunt is over. In the last 10 years... only Dilfer was a tad below that 85 rating... and he was helped considerably by probably the best defense ever the year the Ravens brought home the Lombardi cup.
  24. A short answer to that is "NO". A few bandaids could have been applied, but you still have the same "goons" in Albany keeping the status quo. Perhaps the folks that purchased tix are banking on that property tax refund due to be distributed just before this year's election. A $200 rebate could almost make one game affordable for a family of four.
  25. I'm not going to cyberbash you you like a few of the folks... and I don't mean it to come off as such... But, what would happen if you "found out too late"? I mean, are you in free fall now and just want to know, within reason, when to open your parachute? I will try to sum things up as best as I can see, from my perspective. Many of the "wallers" know I'm a lifelong NYS resident from my previous posts, and they know where I'm coming from, although they may not agree... So I'll re-hash what I've already stated more than a few times already. No one knows what will happen when Ralph passes. But, we know that Ralph won't be the owner anymore. Wife, kids? That's a heckuva lot of responsibility to leave them with. One thing an NFL owner needs is a passion for football and a passion for money. Do the wife/kids have that? I have my doubts. With NYS in total economic chaos, and the absolute worst environment, politically, for a business to be located in the USA, what would you do if you became the owner of the Bills? Shed your "Bills skin" for a moment and have an outer body experience. If your two biggest goals are to win the the SB and make a ton of $$$, can that be accomplished with your business/team located in Buffalo? If you answer yes to that, then there's really nothing to argue. But, from where I'm sitting, I say the answer is no... the economic and political peril that Erie County and this state is in is one that cannot be fixed unless there's a mass genocide/suicide of every single lawyer, lobbyist, and politican in the state. that aint going to happen. Jesus Christ could be elected governor tomorrow and would not be able to fix this situation it is so bad. So, yeah, there's going to be a new owner and for that person to remain competetive and make money they need a financially lucrative venue to do that in. I don't know where that venue would be at this time, because the only viable markets that I see as even close to having money making potential are perhaps LA, Portland, Sacremento. All of the bigger venues have franchises now. And, New Orleans is a literal ghost town now... and it doesn't appear that any of the heavy hitters want to invest in a city that sits below sea level. Too many bad things can happen. I just don't worry about the Bills that much anymore... bigger fish to fry... like taking care of my family and getting the f*** out of this state.
