  1. Once again I ask you, who is making stuff up here? The agents? SI? SI has a very good reputation; why would they put that at risk for a few clicks? Now the agents might be poorly informed and basing their opinions on outdated information, but that’s an entirely different issue.
  2. Actually, anonymous sources are widely used and not frowned upon, so long as certain journalistic standards are maintained. The most important media stories of the past century were based in large part on anonymous sources. Are you suggesting that the anonymous agents are making stuff up about NFL teams “for clicks” or that Sports Illustrated is making everything up and there are no sources? Either way, your strange little conspiracy theory makes zero sense, but that’s America today, i guess.
  3. None of those places did particularly well in the survey either. Let’s face it, if this survey is any indication, weather and glamor are far and away the biggest factors.
  4. Why would they “make **** up”? What possible motive would there be?
  5. Seahawks, Chiefs, Eagles and Bears might disagree re the rookie contract window...
  6. I actually think AB's numbers might go up in Oakland. Carr is still a pretty good QB and AB will definitely be Option 1, unlike this past year in Pittsburgh where he still put up 15 TDs in 15 games.
  7. Yes, you'd be paying AB for 2-3 years. That's the Bills window to make a Super Bowl run while Allen is still on his rookie deal. It's highly unlikely that they will be able to find a rookie this year or next who would come close matching AB's production during that 2-3 year window. That's why you make the deal. Of course there's risk, but there really isn't any evidence that Brown's performance is going to fall off a cliff in that time period. He is in great physical condition and really has never been hurt, other than the time Vontae Burfect took his head off. And yes, Brown was a pain in the ass this past year, when he was trying to get a new deal and, frankly, when he started losing targets to JuJu Smith-Schuster, but he's been in the league a long time and he didn't really have a history of that sort of behavior. I would look for Beane to bounce back by possibly making a play for OBJ or Julio Jones. It wasn't a stupid idea, but it's unfortunate that it leaked out the way it did. It was an embarrassment for sure, but I'm not sure that's OBD's fault.
  8. Absurd. There have been plenty of highly productive WRs over 30 recently: Larry Fitz, AJ Green, Julio Jones...oh, wait, a 32 year old WR just won the Super Bowl MVP! Brown’s really has no drop off since turning 30. It’s ridiculous to assume he won’t be really good for at least 2 more years. And if you’re still arguing that WR is a “complementary” position, then the NFL passed you by a long time ago.
  9. Yes, insane to pay Antonio Brown slightly more than Sammy Watkins got last year from KC. Please list, in alphabetical order, all of the Bills receivers in the history of the franchise who’ve had 15 TDs in a season. Grapes are smelling kinda funky...
  10. Really? They’ve been so good and finding receivers, too. Which free agents would you spend the money on who would have a bigger impact than AB the next 2-3 years?
  11. Yes, sure would suck to have one of the top four receivers in the league for Josh Allen to throw to. And our receiving corps is so deep...
  12. Brown and his agent have been talking to the media for weeks about his new contract demands. None of this would have been a surprise to the Bills. The idea that that’s why the deal died is pure OBD spin, and yet folks here are lapping it up...
  13. Yes, Geoff. You have nothing to back up that statement. That's why the top WRs are paid as highly as any position other than QB.
  14. Exactly. Which is why I don’t believe money was the issue. I think that’s OBD spin.
  15. I agree, but it would not be hard for the Bills to know in advance—just by reading the papers or Twitter—approximately what kind of money he is looking for.
  16. Yolo, no offense, but I'm calling BS on this story. The Bills had to have had a very good idea how much Brown would be asking for before they opened up serious discussions with Pittsburgh. The Bills have tons of cap space and they had to expect that Brown would be looking to become the highest paid WR in the league (until the next contract extension). I don't believe $ was the what made this fall apart. I think this is just the Bills trying to spin the situation to make themselves look better after being left at the alter. There's no question that Brown is playing games and he's now got the Steelers painted into a corner. His goal is to either force a trade to the team he wants or force the Steelers to cut him so he becomes a UFA. Buffalo just was not on his shortlist.
  17. Unfortunately, if the Steelers can’t trade him, AB will most likely be released and become an UFA, which is exactly what he’s wanted all along.
  18. Wait, some legal experts here said that if Kraft stayed out of Florida, he would be untouchable...maybe Massachusetts and Florida have an extradition treaty? You’d also would have read that it was widely considered to be a house of ill-repute before she sold it
  19. If that’s the case, it’s a great trade. Look at the track record of WRs drafted in the first round the past 3 years. No draft pick would have this impact for the next 2-3 years.
  20. No, Metcalf looks like a damn advertisement for anabolic steroids. Caveat emptor!
