  1. This^^^. I was at the game yesterday with my 78 year old father, who's been a fan since 1960 and is in poor health. Our seasons are in 113 in a high teen row and we had inconsiderate folks standing most of the game, not caring at all about the folks behind them. As others have noted, it starts a cascade effect that forces folks to stand who ordinarily would not.
  2. Since you're new, I'll provide some background. New England has gotten extra rest against us a ridiculous number of seasons over the last 10-12 years--they once played us after their bye 4 years in a row (odds of that happening by coincidence are about 4,000 to 1)--other years they got other "high value" games (such as other division opponents, like Miami the year after Miami won the division, or the Ravens the year after the Ravens pounded them in the playoffs. Almost like they had a friend in the NFL schedule makers office. We, on the other hand, got saddled with more games against teams with extra rest than anyone else in the League-5 one season (the same year you got--wait for it--none) and 4 another adjacent year if I remember correctly. That kind of changed for us when Doug Whaley finally opened his mouth two-three years back and publicly shamed the League on this. Kind of funny that Bills fans got excited last year to see we'd finally get extra rest against you (off our Thurs. game), only to look at the schedule further to see that you also played us earlier in the year off your Thurs. night game. The more things change.... PS. Keep up the good work here being a respectful opposition poster. Always great to hear real insight from other team's fans who aren't arseholes.
  3. Just a couple quick points: 1. FWIW, I recall th Flutie story making news at the time of Spygate--he said iit once to a radio call-in show in a tone that showed he thought it was funny, but didn't realize how serious it was. Seems like somebody may have then spoken to him about it, as he clammed up fast on it thereafter; and 2. Alex G., Brady's health guru and best friend, was enjoined by the FTC from peddling alleged cancer cures in the early 'aughts. That should tell you all you need to know about him. http://www.bostonmagazine.com/news/blog/2015/10/09/tom-brady-alex-guerrero-neurosafe/
  4. Or because they've been cheating at least twice. Then there are things like Rodney Harrison getting caught using HGH, but only because he was dumb enough to use his own name and address--on an incarnation of that team where old vets like he, Antowain Smith, Seau, etc. seemed to go and miraculously regain a step. Personally, I think it's a bit of "all the above"--they cheat wherever and however they can. You have an owner, coach and star who are sociopathic about it.
  5. That looked pretty serious to me. I'd guess he's out for multiple weeks if I had to wager on it,
  6. The Cheats* have a short week this week, too. If JG's out, Brissett will have to start Thursday, we, however, may of course see a vet pickup week 4.
  7. Belicheat's arrogance may come back to bite him--why he wouldn't bring a vet in to backup JG for the first 4 weeks is beyond me. This was fairly predictable as a possibility.
  8. Many thanks for the thoughts--must admit that I agree with most, if not all, of them.
  9. This--she passed away right before he started at USC, I believe.
  10. Problem is the Jets have a dominant D-line (7 sacks today against a good Cinci line), so it may get worse before it gets better.....
  11. I thought he said that last year, but could be wrong. Wherever you are, Bill, we're still thankful for all the years you did this!
  12. I wondered the same thing--didn't see Marquise at al.. Are they afraid to take off his bubble wrap?
  13. Not quite true--didn't he have like 3 long bomb TD's in limited action his rookie year? Since then, it's been all down hill, however, which his early flashes made all the more frustrating
  14. I believe so--I recall seeing a quote from or about Shaq saying he was going to be getting a lot of mental reps while out, implying he'll be there watching practices.
  15. Logan Paulsen, Washington's former starting TE a few years back, just got released. Not much of a pass catcher, but my be an upgrade over the backup dreck we have now.
  16. Tip of the iceberg in Foxboro--ever wonder way back when how all those over the hill guys they signed seemed to regain a step there? Now we know.....
  17. The Coples signing idea (or a bring him back after he shops himself idea) makes sense to me. Just hope we don't somehow get burned here and lose both.
  18. May have been a game of chicken and Whaley didn't blink.
  19. On Lawson, they may be just trying to save $ and not have to fully guarantee his deal--they may have told him "go shop yourself and come back to let us match if we think it's reasonable". A gamble, but one teams sometimes take.
  20. Then you shouldn't read a Pats* fan message board--I'd bet there are some of those jackholes who are sad to read he's doing well. Very glad to read he's doing well.
