Tacos Pigs in a blanket Mexican Rice and beans Salsa Sushi (“one of these thing is not like the other”.....) A few bottles of red and white Beer in many splendered varieties (Molson, Blue Moon, Bass, Guinness, Ballast Point, Founders, Amstel, Becks, Captain Lawrence, Weheinstefaner, etc) for 40-50 folks, including kidlings (the SB is kind of our neighborhood thing). The beer is my only contribution, the rest is my wife’s. i will need to singlehandedly drink half of those beers if this game goes the way I suspect it might....

His nickname in my house growing up was “Stone Fingers”—never heard “Reuben Gant” on its own without “Stone Fingers” preceding it.....

But again, why do those calls almost always go their way?

Do you ever wonder why it never, ever seems to even out, however? As in they seem to win many games through garbage calls, but never seem to lose by them? i can recall a total of one game they got jobbed—against the Panthers on Monday night 5 or 6 years ago—but can easily think of more than 10 they won that way....

So, you really thought that roughing the passer that kept their drive alive and led to 7 points was a good call? Really? How come we see that EVERY FRICKING YEAR with respect one team and one team only?

Yeah, right. Didn’t Gilmore get like 4 of them for us in 2 games vs the Cheats the year before he left?

Out of curiosity I went back and checked the stats of the first KC-Pats game this year. Guess how many penalties were called on the Cheats? zero, zip, zilch,nada.....

How was that not a block in the back?

Especially when the godfather to his son is a practitioner of sketchy training methods and was accused by the FTC of peddling fake cancer cures....

Why isn’t Beasley playing?

I just looked VDE. He turns 23 next month—more than two full years older than Edmunds. I suspect our guy will turn out to be the much better player, but time will tell.

Not sure—maybe because they are getting gashed in the running game. He didn’t play that last series—Sean Lee did. They showed poor forlorn Leighton on the sidelines several times that series.

Tomlin deserves this loss for not taking his TO’s when the Raiders had first and goal. He would have had had 1:20 or so after the TD to march down and get a FG, instead of 15 seconds.

Off the top of my head, the Tuck Rule, the AFCCG vs the Colts that led to a new rule emphasis the following year, the 2007 Monday nighter against the Ravens where several suspect calls late in the 4th gave them the game (several Ravens got fined after that one for speaking their minds), a game around the same time vs Houston when Tommy Boy heaved a game ending pick, only to see a late flag even the announcers didn’t understand wipe it out, the Saints game 2-3 years ago they won on a last play TD throw in which Solder was clearly holding the Saints pass rusher, and on and on, not ev3n counting our games against them. i do recall them losing to the Panthers on a late iffy call 5-6 years ago, but not many others.....

New England* has historically won many, many, many more close games in which bad officiating appeared to help them than they have lost that way over the years, probably by a factor approaching 5 to 1.....

And they got 70 or so of those on their first drive

Coleman is a disgrace. When one ref screws one team over and over, the League should look into it. He usually saves it up for Bills-Pats* games.

Don’t know too much about McNair and his record on race relations, but do know that he sold a minority interest in the team to a friend of a college buddy of mine, who happens to be Hispanic and very rich—self-made rich, too (he set up and ran an energy trading company after playing football at Columbia and is a nice guy as best I know from my buddy and from meeting him a few times).

I like Leftwich, too. Forgot he was there. Wow—awful way to end a game.
