  1. I think the team physicians are under great pressure to be "yes men" and prescribe anything, within reason, to players. They're not going to be a Michael Jackson doctor, but if they say no, there's likely a long line of other physicians waiting to take their dream job. And it must be tough too. These players live under extreme circumstances and are going to have chronic pain during the season (and likely after it too). You need to treat their pain and ketorolac is a non-habit forming analgesic. You can't place them on chronic opiods, so there's a trade-off. That said, there's something to be said for Motrin 800 mg. It is also a great analgesic, but is also associated with side-effects with chronic use. For those who don't know, toradol and motrin, while not exactly the same, belong to the same drug family, NSAIDs.
  2. Ketorolac is an excellent analgesic. It has been shown to be as effective as opiods in trials, but has zero abuse potential. Let's not give this drug a bad name. However, this drug has restrictions as do most medications. Due to renal issues, it shouldn't be used for more than 72 hours. It's the team's physicians we should be pointing our fingers at. This medication cannot be dispensed without a prescription. But, let's no drag a perfectly good medication through the mud.
  3. I think that's just a function of a GM coming in, cleaning house, and installing his players. Letting Levitre go and plugging your own draft pick isn't always a good idea. Plus, the Bills are a charity. They're giving out paychecks that no other team would do.
  4. Either the Chiefs are totally inept or they're trying to desperately convince another team that the player they're opting to replace in this coming draft is actually pretty good. I don't think they're even going to get a 2nd and may end up releasing him. He's sort of thrown a wrench in the Chiefs' plans of trading him for a couple high picks and drafting a blue chip LT. If I were the Bills, I'd offer a 4th in the 2014 draft and switch him to LG.
  5. Title is misleading. Robots should be mentioned.
  6. The other huge assumption here is that aliens having a human-like form. This story's a bunch of crap.
  7. This is all based on the assumption that aliens contain DNA, which is a fairly large one at that.
  8. Any other scrubs we can convert to WR? Man, I just looked at the Bills current roster. I have no idea who 50% of these people are or where they exactly came from.
  9. But are they going to find anyone that does have a good resume? It's not like there's a big name coach out there that's available. Anyone they pick likely isn't going to have a great resume.
  10. Not football related, but since the Sabres are the most inept in the NHL and are in need of a coach, what do you think of Peca for head coach? He seems to have done a good job with the Junior Sabres. http://www.buffalonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20130412/SPORTS/130419581/1004
  11. I like this type of signing. Nix/Whaley have proven they are excellent dumpster divers. Whenever we pick up a young promising player off another team, it's a win-win situation. No sarcasm.
  12. Great, another washed up, bust of a QB needs money. Never heard this one before.
  13. I think he was talking about Hackett.
  14. I hope he really blows it up in Cleveland. Too bad he won't have a QB to throw to him.
  15. I recommend the author of this article looks up the word delusion. It's hard to believe any of these teams picked up these players for any role besides a veteran back up.
  16. QB at #8. The current FO will never survive if a QB taken by another team after #8 lights it up and our sloppy seconds taken in the 2nd doesn't.
  17. Truth is, this team would be no worse off it the posters here on TSW were running the Bills draft over the last 3 years. But, the same could be said about 60% of the "professional" GMs in the NFL.
  18. No sympathy here. Even if these players decided not to "invest" the money (sticking it all in a non-interest checking account, under their mattress), they would have been 1000x better off. You would also think the NFL should retain a stable of approved financial advisers the players could use if they chose. And also send out a memo stating that a restaurant/night club/sports bar is most always destined to fail.
  19. I scratch my head at the Mallet and Yates picks. Really?
  20. So maybe this is why this guy was brought in, the drum up support for TJ amongst the fans.
  21. We can't go all offense. Our defense was one of the worse in the league, remember? Plus, we only have 1 NFL calibre LB on our roster.
  22. I can see why Stevie's acting out and understand his position. Sure, he's making millions of dollars, but he's basically in a deadend job on the Bills. Really, how can you really take your job seriously when your employers don't seem to be either? He wouldn't be acting this way if he was on the 49ers or NE.
  23. Most mocks out there just list the best players 1-32, basically assigning the teams the BPA. There are even fewer mocks out there that try to get into a GM's head and ask "who will this team really pick?". This mock is the later. Doomed.
