  1. that is silly.. we have pretty much the very same OL as last year minus Levitre.... Depth has changed some we let Rinehart go.. but that is it. So many begged Chan last year to run run run the ball.. When the other team knows you are focusing on the run they'll cheat up.. So it is up to the QB to keep the D honest.. We didn't have much QB play keeping the D honest.. I think the Wa debacle was a team gassed after a grueling camp, and the coaches experimenting seeing what works and how players react. We also had Gilmore drop a sure INT, and Stevie being sloppy with the football and fumbling. Those 2 plays could of made a big difference. We had a decent 1st 2 preseason games, so a sloppy 3rd game should not be the end of the world for fans...
  2. I just think the team was gassed from the opening kickoff. It was a grueling training camp and they were on the road. They just did not have much gas in their tanks yesterday... or so I hope We were sloppy everywhere, and obvioulsy the coahces are trying new stuff to see how it works and how players react as well.
  3. can he stay healthy for at least 1 whole season ?
  4. In Byrds case when the 2012 season ended the top paid safeties were making high 7's to 8 mil Then San Fran and Tampa come in and now its closer to 9 mil.. At what point do you stop chasing the number ? or should teams always cave to the Parkers and the egos of players that simply must be the highest paid at their position or bust.. I think Byrd is a bit of an idiot for not signing a top 5 contract with guarenteed money that owuld more then take care of him for life and give hm the security he would want all for a silly ego boost to be the highest paid...
  5. LMAO No he wasn't ... Go look at the 2009 final rister and realized we did well over a 90% roster change over since he arrives.. No GM hits on them all but I'm thankful we got Nix, and I have little issue with what he did here... Went all in on COwher was really thonly blunder, but I'm glad he tried hard to get him here......
  6. he smelled a little like vinegar with a hint of fish ?
  7. I agree way to many posters who feel the need to belittle others for stupid reasons.. Heck I respect the man who can post an apology, even when one probably was't necessary because of a dozen or so douchies feel empowered to call people out for whatever reason
  8. and in Buffalo's case some players were slow to develop because of bad coaching and piss poor scheme. I expect to see a few players many here wrote off come alive under Marrone Hackett and Pettine
  9. The Byrd should of signed a 5 year deal with the Bills that would of paid him at minimum $20 million in guarantees.. If he holds out til week 10 he will only receive less then 1/2 of that. . But somehow he thinks its worth the risk and holds out for $7 million franchise 1 year deal and will have to participate at some time, the later he shows up the less he gets.. Way too much risk for the silly pride of being the highest paid S
  10. then a team would of used a 6th or 7th round pick on him.. He probably is having a tough time with the playbook and the complexities of the pro game and needs to be on a practice squad
  11. I'm happy with what I'm seeing out of EJ so far. I think I will trust that... pundits have to get the hits to drive advertisement, so shock journalism is what much of this kind of reporting has devolved into
  12. thanks again for the report. The effort is GREATLY appreciated
  13. he won't sign till the after the last preseason game IMO. He is going to do whatever he has to to avoid injury this year
  14. Troupe has been making some plays in camp.. Hopefully he is now the player we hoped he could be..
  15. I never read his crap anymore... But that over zealous shock negativity attracts plenty of readers which pays the bills at the paper. until the crowd that is attracted to such shock type of journalism grows tired there will always be a place for the Sullivans
  16. thanks for the feed Astro !
  17. gonna plagiarize this for the official forum fans.. I will give you full credit this was answered at the official forum and it comes with pictures if anyone interested http://boards.buffalobills.com/showthread.php?464543-Pictures-from-training-camp-Friday-August-2&p=6949380#post6949380
  18. LMAO... hurt feelers.. I loved that photo... cracked me up.. how many games has Stevie missed in his career ?
  19. I guess my next question is which teams did better in run defense ? http://www.footballo...m/stats/teamdef (***Having some trouble with the info on the link I posted as they use 2011 weighted data vs 2012 non weighted data, and I am not 100% sure what is what***) Only 1 teams in the top 10 were not in the top half (16) of the rushing D HOWEVER, the top 10 Pass D teams were in non sequential order the top 10 D teams which supports your point well I figure your are trying to make an argument on what works best for a team defense, a pass rush or a top D Backfield, but how does it affect Run D if a team is heavy on the DL/LB or DB's. We can debate all day on what is better against the pass, but if you are vulnerable to the run then you are still vulnerable and are still going to lose games. Case in point Buffalo Buffalo's run D was so horrible last year that teams didn't have to pass on us, and some teams ran up the score so quickly on us they just sat back and ate up the clock. We were rated #31 in run D We have solid DB's and Solid DL IMO, what we didn't have was Solid LB's and a D scheme that worked consistently... IMO the teams that are balanced and capable of generating some consistent pressure, have decent DB's with an ALL-Pro mixed in and can stop the run which requires a stout DL and LB core are the ones that went far. That thought is basically as obvious as it gets. if you go heavy on the DB you are probably getting burned on the run game, if you go heavy on the DL or relying heavy on the blitz you expose the DB's and then other teams eventually break a long play or 3 I still stand by the old saying that the game is won and loss in the trenches my thoughts were a little scattered and I am still digesting your thoughts
  20. Not a thing different That is a tough thing to do when every single establishment is a place to get Alcohol. So many people don't grasp how tough it can be Stay strong, 1 day at a time, Be honest with loved ones, I wish you well... Nothing worse then being a slave to something... been there myself
  21. Not at all. Once they traded back and offset the risk I was perfectly OK with whomever they chose to be QB. All I wanted was for them to offset the risk some in this years QB class. Why not go with the guy with the most upside. To be honest I've enjoyed our last 4 drafts. Hindsight 20/20 will always reveal a woulda coulda shoulda, but overall we're are without a doubt drafting better then decade before IMO
  22. I sure hope so !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
