  1. This makes little sense because you are not siging Cousins to anything less than a 4 year $100 million deal.. Are you going to sit Rudolph for 3 or 4 years ??? What was the point of that 1st rd pick if he is not going to see the field but as a backup. You don't use 1st rd picks on backups You can not pay a FA QB that much money and then draft his replacement early because with the cap hit dead money ramifications it would be a waste. You either commit to Cousins fully and draft players to surround him in the 1st few rounds and maybe pick up a 4th rd QB to compete with Peterman to see who is better or you pick up a much cheaper FA QB and draft Rudolph or someother QB with the intention of starting him the next year with little cap ramifications from the vet we do sign maybe you can trade your vet QB .. but the asking price for Cousins will make him hard to trade IMO
  2. Odds of being a playoff contender / SB winner / Dynansty go up considerably with a great / franchise QB. Necessary ?? there are anomalies but the odds favor the the franchise QB model
  3. I support neither.. Could care less won't even watch the superbowl.. Haven't in years.. I'm just looking forward to the official offseason so I can see what the Bills do
  4. Nope I will harness all the bitterness some of you have left behind and apply it back to Maronne.
  5. IMO you don't need the combine to determine if they are worth it. Game tape tells the tale.. Any team who draft a player based upon combine numbers could be drafting a Maybin type of player. as for the Bills if they have that much faith in a QB to move up you make the move because a franchise QB is THE game changer in this league
  6. inaccuracy always comes 1st, but by the time you're heading to the pros if you don't have that dialed, it most likely is not going to happen later on...
  7. Please stop it with the non sense... and if they had a QB who could throw reliably they wouold of thrown more. COMMON SENSE NEEDS TO BE APPLIED. Nothing wrong with having a caliber of RB like Shady on the team
  8. Do people really think we are ground and pound team because we choose to be a groumd and pound team or is it because we never have a qb or consistent or reliable enough to flip that script. I get the impresion that people actually think the OC is some how going to turn the Taylor's inthis league into a Brees Brady or a Rogers.. At best you might gt a poor mans Wilson, but Taylor is just not and never would be a good of a passer as wilson.. Let alone the other 3 Pretty confident that most any OC who has a Brees Brady or a Rogers feels more comfortable designing a more robust vertical attack. Stop geting your shorts in a bunch.. It may or may not work out, but I seriously doubt we are going to just run the football because we are some blue colar old school 70s franchise that cant move into the next century... We simply lack qb talent and our attempts to find qb talent have failed. Nobody has played qb for the Bills and moved to another team and all of a sudden became a great QB.
  9. last time it looked this good was the last offseason when I thought it looked this good What I am saying is I expect good things, but been down this road before
  10. I wouldn't choose to but by default I would have no choice I'm not switching horses at any point for any reason
  11. don't care for SNF MNF or TNF and really don't care for a Foreign game Just a normal Sunday afternoon game in the states for me please
  12. I'm hearing Rick Dennison is available
  13. If you read the last line of my post I clealry said I was just having fun with some scenarios.. I wish people would not take so much of this message board so serioulsy. I like posting off the cuff for fun That being said.. Free Agent bargainnig power.. We have some money we have an open poisiton and we have a playoff caliber team with owners who are willing to do what it takes.. We have some chips to bargain with. SO I do not under stand your reality quip.. Highly unlikely but fun to think about
  14. Thinking outside the box would be signing Alex Smith and Teddy Bridgewater, If they both hit FA. Smith gets a solid 1 or 2 year deal tops. Teddy gets an incentive laden deal that pays him well if/when he starts and plays so many games etc.. That frees up all our draft picks to pick prime players to fill out our holes and of course we would still have room for a FA or 2 Yeah I know most likely not happneing but bridgewater is a wildcard 1st rd pick that would be better on paper than any QB that fell to us... With Smith also brought in teddy can have the luxury of one more season of making sure the knee is truly healed well or maybe he wins the job out right. Just having some fun with scenarios
  15. Disagree on that.. If you have accuracy and need to hone it in then you can work on the mechanics but if you don't have the accuracy to begin with it ain't happening IMO But what do I know, I'm just a message board GM.. There is always an anomaly eventually....
  16. QB DL OL LB WR I tried to put it in most needed to least needed but those 5 position are the most dire to find a new improved starter and depth if we want to head back to the promiseland
  17. This is true.. but he also came in with lots of question marks about his accuracy just the same. and his 1st 2 years he had less than 100 attempts. His college game plan was divide the field in half.. SO EJ's ability to progress through full reads was a huge unknown since he was never required to do it You will find a good amount of 60 + % career college passers not make it in the NFL. You will be EXTREMELY HARD PRESSED to find any college QB whom had a sub 60% completion pct... do much of anything at the pro level... As it stands right now I think Allen's pro career will be similar to Manuels. maybe Allen breaks the trend but if your a gambling man the odds are greatly stacked against this BUT this part of the quote below is exactly what they used to sell EJ
  18. Keep him.. you can't mold a QB that has never demonstrated consitent accuracy in College ALl I see is EJ Manual
  19. alright measurement at release.. Still a very silly thing IMO What I find weird is somehow we need a stat like this to tell everyone here what we already know.. We need to upgrade the QB and WR situation.. 90% of the posters are already on this train...
  20. How in the hell do you measure seperation... Basically some football junkie watched every pass by every QB and recorded their perceived amount of spereration??? I chalk this particular run of stats as one mans perception.. Not saying we don't have this issue but this is the 1st time I ever heard of someone rate WR separation at the time of catch. then the 6 page debate that follows some hear say stat.. kind of silly
  21. Pick up a vet and draft a QB Not much to even defend at this point as there is lots of months to hone in on who we could or should draft and what QB's are really left on the table for FA or even trade
  22. Just found a few scouting reports on Mason Rudolph.. His biggest knock appears ot be his inability to read defenses quickly and locks on to 1st read often.
  23. the more I research different opionons on Rudolph there seems to be a huge concern in his abiltity to read a defense. He locks on to the 1st target often.. anbd/or misses wide open options that are right in front of him when its not his 1st read option
  24. LOL.. Puts your legs in the air like you ain't got a care
  25. They had lots of negative things to say about Aaron Rogers in reagrds to his coaches abiltiy to design a QB friendly Offense. They also said he was a bit small and many swore he would be a bust... Rudolph checks some boxes in regards to being a a solid pro.. Gonna come down to arm strength showing at pro day and combine IMO I'm thinking if we do not trade up it could very well be Rudolph at this junction... But I'm just an armchair QB
