  1. Williams played fine at og, he gets a restructure or another year added to move the money around
  2. Chark always becomes a superstar for me on Madden, but so does Perriman and John Ross so what do I know lol
  3. yup every day I have been a plant manager for 7 years now and have had a manager title with people under me for 21 years who is very well versed in Toyota Manufacturing and Business processes And your point it what exactly? That he can only be focused on the defense and just let special teams be on the most important kick off of the year? You really don't think he was involved in that situation and just let it be? No direction or communication with the STs whatsoever? But yet, as he has said: "This is Leslie's defense", and he micromanaged the hell out of that?
  4. I'm aware LOL! I didn't want o make that sound like I was pointing that out to you, it was for the other knuckleheads in this thread who would run away with it
  5. Really? This is what you are going to roll with? Really? FFS
  6. Caution on this part, every team has draft busts and you never really know how anyone turns out. You hope for 2-3 starters per draft and some depth
  7. The big play was really Hill's TD and the entire D getting torched by him again. I get the call, the following play leaving Kelce that wide open was execution and I'm not sure if the call came into Edmunds to say chip him or not, he easily also could have failed to execute the play call and toss out the reminders... The toothpaste is out of the tube already, learn from it and move on at this point...
  8. this is where I am with it... The deep coverage call was a direct result of Hill taking that pass to the house. That is the unicorn of their team and forces you to make a choice - don't lose on a ridiculous Hill highlight TD or torching everyone vs maybe they have a shot at a long FG. If it goes in we give it a go in OT, if they miss we win.... The ballsy call would have been to go for 2 instead of to force them to get a TD, the poison is not making it and having the long FG beat you.... I mean I get it...revisiting the calls do nothing for us at this point. The question is we are right there with them, what do we do to get ahead of them? Defensively Not sure there is much you can do in one offseason with the players we have (drafted for scheme) and cap commitments. Does being more blitzy (risk vs reward) move the needle that? Does playing more man against KC or other high powered offense make sense? Where do you get a Garret, Bosa, Mack, Watt etc from? Upgrading Levi is going to be very difficult. @dave mcbride mentioned the Connor Orr article about the lack of CBs in CFB the other day - they are going to get harder to find and players like Levi will see there market value go up based on the poor supply in the pipeline.... Offensively, get more stout and score on every possession is much easier....
  9. McD doesn't throw anyone under the bus, coaches or players in any presser - which is why players love to play for him. I'm sure there is accountability and asschewing in private, but you don't publicly drive the bus over them You're a mod here and have been on this board a long time - how do you not know who is a tool or not yet?
  10. HC hears all the calls and at this stage of the game, you best your ass he is involved
  11. Serious question I'm working through: Is it really defense we need to be focusing on? KC (mahomes) is one of the least sacked QBs in the league. The job of the D is to take Hill away and make sure Kelce doesn't kill you. There is only so much coverage time you can expect your DBs and LBs to maintain their coverage. I'm not sure better DBs or even a Buce Smith change the equation too much. It almost feels like you need to double down on the offense (better OL and keep a wide variety of pass catchers to spread the ball all over the place and add speed there). It just feels like you need to score every time, perhaps our D is just good enough?
  12. Hill is the unicorn that makes them so tough to defend, his catch and run killed us, no other WR in the league can do what he did, they would have been tackled immediately. If you focus on taking him away that is where Kelce, gets a mismatch and they nail you. The rest of their pass catchers etc. are meh.
  13. It's Hill that is the issue, look at the catch he caught and took it to the house. No other WR in the league makes that play. It's his speed that you have to account for to make sure you don't get burned and that does open things for Kelce. Kelce is a normal TE (he's great), but he is nowhere near the threat Hill is, who is the unicorn. The matchup becomes much more normalized without him...
  14. I think this may be a year where beane will look to be aggressive and get a guy, we are now neck and neck with KC and Josh is one of the 2 best qbs in the league. I'm think xxx player may be our first round pick like Diggs was
  15. They were there last offseason and we should have spent then... There are like 3 this offseason, but doubt they hit the market
  16. Mack is still too cap heavy to trade $24M dead cap. It could happen depending on if Chicago wants to clear cap off their books. The UFAs I would consider are Von, Chandler and Reddick. I'm sure the hope is for Greg to grow in year 2 and I'm certain Beane will mention it.
  17. It's a pass rusher getting home. We spend too much of our cap 23% on a dl rotation, we have several meh players and not one beast like a Clark or Jones etc. i get the roational aspect of it all amd staying fresh later, but you lose the ability change the game. Our guys got pressure overpenetrated and allowed mahomes to slither around the pocket. Look at what Ingram did to brown on a couple plays, we cant tackle the qb for a loss. JMO Edit: Oliver is starting to really come on, we need one more great edge guy along with Phillips to do some work
  18. Have you been to a playoff game at home? Last week's was eerily similar to the 1990s, there is a reason when we had home field back then we were tough to beat. It gets loud... Would make it harder on KC. These 2 teams are evenly matched any small advantage helps This is why Levi will get overpaid in FA. I'm not sure he will sign for less to stay (he might, but he needs to make $$$ while he can)
  19. Cap space The decision last off season was to run it back and we are likely the 2nd best team in the league as of now, we will lose depth due to UFA and we are a SB contender, so we have to be careful on where we subtract and where we add. My feeling is spend less on the DL rotation and more on impact players on the line (including Edge). Beasley is a likely cut (cap considerations), he will want to be paid more than we can offer and we lose his ability to find space in the zone and will have to be replaced. Watching the offense without McKenzie and with (to a degree with Brieda in there and not), we need speed. Hill helps KC in so many ways whether he catches the ball or not, he forces the D to play a certain way to prevent his 60 yard runs. He is one of a kind but we need some more speed at WR.... My thoughts on last offseason and even during the trade deadline was trying to figure out where this team is at and where Josh's development goes, Bean likely played it conservatively. With the continued growth of Josh and the offense, I do feel like Bean may be willing to endure a bit of cap hell if he can get the players to push us over the top. If we win yesterday, there is a good chance we win the whole damn thing...
