Greenberg - A Jets Fan - Pushing Back Against The Allen Hate
Albany,n.y. replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Go back & read the draft analysis by the Rosen supporters the day after the 1st round of the 2018 draft. It started with the media members who were astonished that the Bills had the audacity to draft Allen over Rosen. It was as if Beane questioned their manhood by choosing Allen over their boy, Rosen. It had nothing to do with Lamar Jackson or your ridiculous assumption that Kirk Cousins gets treated badly because he beat out RGIII in Washington. -
I don't know about that. The Jets have Wilson & Rypien on the 53 man roster, and Siemian on the PS. Why would they carry 2 PS QBs?
-
It has no effect on Rodgers for next year. Boyle got to live out his dream of starting with his family in the stands. Now he can join them for the holidays. Boyle was a case of trying something new & realizing it didn't work out. Now they have to get Rypien ready to start in 2-3 weeks.

Jets are dumping Tim Boyle, who started their last game & are signing Brett Rypien. https://nypost.com/2023/12/05/sports/jets-dumping-tim-boyle-signing-brett-rypien-in-quarterback-shuffle/ The Jets have lanced their Boyle. The team released Tim Boyle after two miserable starts and will sign Brett Rypien off the Seahawks practice squad, The Post’s Brian Costello confirmed. The 29-year-old Boyle, who previously backed up Aaron Rodgers with the Packers and was signed this offseason, was benched in Sunday’s loss to the Falcons for Trevor Siemian. It comes as the Jets are figuring out who will be the starting quarterback after pushing back on a report from The Athletic that claimed Zach Wilson was reluctant to return. Jets coach Robert Saleh said he was not ready to name a starting quarterback on Monday. The Jets had shown interest in signing Rypien after Rodgers tore his Achilles in the season opener.

Take a look around the league at the backup QBs. There isn't much quality there. If your QB goes down for any extended length of time, the season is over. Any team that is paying franchise QB money can't afford a "good backup". How many games do you think the Bills win with Kyle Allen? https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchartpos/QB Never tested because the other team is in victory formation, or the offense is on the field trying to catch up.

Is Belichick Tanking Already?
Albany,n.y. replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
They can't: Chicago has their 1st round pick. PS: I'm rooting for NE to win every week except when we play them. I don't want another top QB in the AFC East. -
I thought of that watching the 49ers game, but then I realized we would have had a totally different draft last April. The 4th we traded to beat Dallas out of Kincaid to move up in the 1st round wouldn't have been there, so we wouldn't have Kincaid. The 2nd rounder to draft Torrence wouldn't have been there either, nor would the 3rd for D. Williams (jury still out on him). So we wouldn't have Kincaid or Torrence starting, Williams developing, and we'd also be out our 2024 5th. So all in all, it's tough to say whether trading for McCaffery would have been a good move considering the players who we drafted with the picks we would have had to have sent Carolina.

The Jets are a great example of be careful what you wish for. The media was all over Saleh for not benching Wilson. It turns out he had no better alternative.

Terry should tell everyone: "McDermott is my coach, this season, next season and the season after that, and if you don't like it, you can get out of town."

Did Tommy Devito attend Rob Johnson's camp for HS QBs as a teenager?

11/19/23 Week #11 GAMEDAY Bills vs Jets Pregame Thread

He's called Playoff Lenny and they're saving him for the playoffs. -
Knox 5 seasons My opinion at the time was Mularkey thought Marv would find an excuse to fire him & name himself coach.

Dobbs is proving the value of having an intelligent QB.

I can't see a housecleaning in NY unless ownership blames Schoen & Daboll for the bad Daniel Jones contract. Right now, the Giants #1 mission is to lose as many games as possible so they can draft a QB to rectify the Jones mistake. I believe that the owners will give Schoen & Daboll that opportunity. Management will not hold their 2023 record against Schoen and Daboll.

Harbaugh has a bit of maniac in him. That might work in college better than the NFL. Go back & read the stories how he & SF management parted ways. It was by mutual agreement because he reached an expiration date quickly.

The 1st thing I thought of was Mayock's time with the Raiders when I saw the thread title.

Why does Buffalo carry running backs on their roster?
Albany,n.y. replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ask the posters who are dead set against drafting a RB early. Unfortunately, Beane has let the best RBs go by in the draft because he has the same philosophy. Meanwhile the top teams in the league have a running game that makes them multidimensional while all Josh has is Diggs, no RB he can count on & bunch of #3 or #4 WRs trying to fill the #2 WR spots. -
That year he spent in Carolina was the clincher for Beane & McDermott.
-
My guess he's the writer from Boston who claimed that Jake Fromm would be the Bills starter over Josh by midseason. I imagine after that take he's fallen on hard times & the only place that will even take his opinions on the NFL are call in talk shows.

Giants Jets game - Daboll's call to attempt a FG
Albany,n.y. replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall
The kid was totally lost out there. Three steps & a throw with the way he was performing would be inviting interceptions. I repeat-he was totally lost out there & Daboll knew that. Daboll was in a no win situation. They have one of the league's best backups in Tyrod. Most teams are dead meat if they have to go to their 3rd QB, especially a rookie on the practice squad. When the game went to OT the Giants only hope was Saquon would break a long run. By that point any decision he made was most likely to fail. -
Giants Jets game - Daboll's call to attempt a FG
Albany,n.y. replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was at the game. I could see every snap to him. Devito looked lost out there-no pocket awareness at all-much more likely to get sacked or make a mistake when pressured. That's why Daboll was afraid to let him pass the ball,. He looked good in preseason playing against 3rd stringers. He looked bad against the Jets 1st teamers-huge difference. -
Giants Jets game - Daboll's call to attempt a FG
Albany,n.y. replied to BillsIsrael's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wrong! If you're up 3 all the Jets need is a FG to tie. If you're up 6 the Jets need a TD & play entirely different. No team sits on a 3 point lead in the last minute with the ability to go up by 6. We'll maybe Staley goes for it on 4th, but no coach in his right mind does.
