I'm surrounded by Bengals fans and all of them to a person are 100% absolutely sure that they are winning the Superbowl. They're practically planning the parade. They've been that way since they beat KC. Requiring turnovers on 4 straight possessions to beat the Bucs and almost blowing a 22 point lead to the Pats did nothing to shake that confidence. What they don't do is dissect wins to the point where they feel like losses. They also don't let opposing fans on their message boards, but that is a discussion for another thread.

That Jets team reminds me of a drought-era Bills team. We often had great D, some nice offensive weapons, and bad QBs. Teams like that play golf in January.

I feel so guilty. You guys are flying in for the game and I live about 10 minutes from the stadium and I'm not going. You shouldn't catch too much grief from the locals. They are used to being invaded by Steelers fans and Cubs games at GABP are like Leafs games at KBC.

For the Bengals, the game next week against is much more important than this weeks game.

Exactly. If the Ravens win today over the Steelers like they should, the game in Cincinnati next week will decide the AFC North. In terms of the division, it doesn’t matter if the Bengals beat the Bills. Given the fact that KC is very unlikely to lose again, the Bengals have no real path to the #1. I think the Bengals are trying to motivate themselves to match the Bills intensity because we have a lot more at stake in this game than they do.

I live in Cincinnati. Most people didn’t care about the Bengals until last year. The stadium was half empty until they started winning last year. Now every main street corner has a guy selling knock off Bengals gear. Also, the Reds play in front of an empty stadium. Fair weather fans indeed.

I tried to join the Bengals board to talk about the SB last year and they threw me out when they learned that I am not a Bengals fan. And I live in Cincinnati. Our board has the most open policy of every board in the NFL when it comes to opposing fans and outright trolls. It’s both a strength and a weakness.

When this guy is your team leader, you’re going to say a lot of brash things.

Two things: 1) They are just following the cockiness that Joe Burrow brought that changed the culture of the team. The Bengals were a losing organisation for decades that lost games before they even started. Joe came in and brought that cigar smoking smugness from LSU and turned the whole thing around in just a few years. It may have now gone a bit too far, but it did work. 2) Joe Mixon is a woman-beating idiot.
