  1. I'm surprised he didn't look at the 3rd down conversion stats and punt on 3rd down.
  2. Actually the Republicans offered a less expensive common sense solution and the Dems said no. What I love about this "party of no" label is that it is the Dems answer to real concerns expressed by Republicans. For example, when the $800 Billion stimulus was on the table, Republicans raised concerns that it was too expensive, was not economically stimulating in nature and would not achieve the results forcasted by the Dems. The Dems answer, "party of no". For health care Republicans have raised concerns that the House plan and Senate plans are very expensive, will not reduce costs, are full of new tax and are not deficit neutral. The Dems answer with "party of no". Seems to me that if the Republican concerns were not well founded then the Dems could respond to Republicans on the merits of their plans. Seems to me that the stimulus would have met their goal of 8% or less unemployment. Seems to me that they wouldn't have to bribe members of their own party to vote for the health care reform bill or resort to 4 years of taxes without any benefits to get the thing anywhere near neutral. Seems to me that they would be clever enough to solve big issues with well crafted solutions that most people could support rather than simply applying the old spend and tax approach to every goal they have.
  3. If we adopt a similar policy here in the U.S. we can end the gay marriage controversy. Death by stoning, however, is a bit harsh.
  4. Let's take emotion out of it. From a common sense and integrity standpoint, the tactics of paying off states for their votes is hideous. Yes, this is not nearly the first time or the last. It is, however, arrogant and very ugly. When you boil it way down, it is the fault of the voters who put these jackasses in power. It's bad enough that horrible solutions to real issues are crafted by Presidents and Congress. It's even worse that votes are bought and sold in both general elections and within Congress and yes, it is one party that uses the "buying votes" tactic with other people's money repeatedly. This entire effort to reform health care is shameful and anyone that supports its' passage is as ugly as the solution and the process by which it is being legislated. There should be 50 Governor's objecting to the Federal Goverment creating another huge unfunded mandate across the board if that is what the final bill will do.
  5. Nor should it have to. Congress should have enough integrity to avoid bribes with taxpayer money. If it does reach the Supreme Court, it could very well be a setback for the Dems as the court is still a 5-4 majority of justices that actually defend the constitution.
  6. So Losing Dodd's service and new ideas is a loss?
  7. Yes and also Senator Byron Dorgan (D) of North Dakota.
  8. I'll second that. He was a litle prickly at times, but for the most part he just went out and played as hard as he could. You could count on him to make a big play when you needed it. Deserves to be in the hall of fame IMO.
  9. Justice would be served in short order.
  10. Agree, and most in Congress agree. One party, however, feels that it takes a very expensive 2700 page monstrosity to solve the problem for 5% of the population.
  11. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/05...ks-tv-coverage/ Calling Obama's bluff from a year a go.
  12. Republicans support health care insurance for everyone that wants it as long as everybody pays for it and everybody can choose their level of coverage. Choice and personal responsibility. Not difficult concepts to grasp.
  13. I believe Crayonz has the highest IQ of anyone on this board. Dead serious.
  14. I think a tougher minded head coach and a clean slate will do wonders for Lynch. That and another year of maturity.
  15. Way to cheapen yourself on a serious and complex issue. Try the ears open mouth closed approach. You have a lot to gain.
  16. I don't think it's fair to criticize the guy for taking a vacation or when or where he takes it. When he's not vacationing is when we should worry.
  17. Perry has moved his career forward a lot in Buffalo. He was a releatively unknown assistant in Chicago before Jauron hired him. He's got a lot to put on his resume and that should serve him well. Being a likeable guy doesn't hurt either. Best of luck to him.
  18. Holy cow, really? I look at Mangini getting hired by Cleveland and wonder what the heck they were thinking. What did anyone see in this guy after his NY experience? He's really milked the associaion with Belichick IMO. Browns must agree if they launch him.
  19. Obama and company are expanding the market by handing these guys so much material on a daily basis. Never before have guys like Rush, Hannity and Levin had so much opportunity. These guys must be giggling every morning when they wake up and see the news of the day. It's a non-stop stream of opportunity. If they were publically traded companies, I'd invest a bunch in them. Go long on Republicans in November. It's amazing how irresponsible the Democrats have been with the power they worked so hard to get.
  20. If you're looking for a fist fight, you'll be disappointed. Let's debate the issues. Come prepared. You've called me a dummy and a zombie. Come on in, let's have the debate.
  21. You've made a poor assumption of my intent. I'd welcome any lib to come in and sit down and have an ideological discussion on current issues. None of the left leaners on this board are willing (or able) to post tangible reasons why they (or nthe rest of us should) support the policies of Obama and this congress. I'd love to hear the benefits vs the cost of the recovery act, mortgage bailout program, proposed cap and trade, proposed health care, the recent 2nd proposed stimulus. On another note, Rush looks healthy and ready to return to work.
  22. What the hire does say is that the front office recogizes the weakness in recent player personnel decisions and they have elevated their best personnel guy to improve it. Brandon getting kicked upstairs won't be counted on any longer for player expertise. Polian was a strong personnel guy and less of an administrator.
  23. Hey, I agree with you. I was simply pointing out to the cat that Obama himself had admitted the guy should not have been on the plane. Mr. cat stated that not enough evidence existed to put him on the do not fly list or revoke a visa.
  24. How about I send you a plane ticket and you come to my office and we'll finish this conversation? It's a real offer.
