  1. I think you should explain the difference at least how you see it.
  2. I don't like that word coming from anyone's mouth.
  3. Poppycock. The difference is simply that both Reid and Obama are in the same party. If one or the other were Republican, the sparks would be flying. Frankly, I don't know why this is such a big deal since what Reid said is absolutely the truth.
  4. The bigger problem is that the most qualified and most capable people generally don't run for public office which is a great argument for keeping Government small.
  5. Here would be my list of cons.... 1. Uncertain ownership situation (Ralph's age and apparent lack of a succession plan). 2. History of letting good players walk in free agency (as you pointed out). 3. Current roster looks like it needs a lot of work before becoing a winner. 4. Personnel staff does not appear strong (will see what Nix can do). 5. Difficult to attract free agents without being highest bidder. 6. Top tier coach does not want to tarnish their own reputation with a bad stint in an organization that might not win.
  6. Are you sure that the census includes illegal aliens?
  7. Obama, when addressing a mostly black crowd does speak with an intentional "negro dialect". He absolutely does. While Harry is a stupid old fool for making these remarks, what does it say about Obama's genuineness that he does that?
  8. Too soon too tell. If we learn later that this is really all about him firmly enforcing immigration laws as he (and Holder for that matter) should then it'll deserve some attention.
  9. I won't refer to you as "you people" because I truly hope that you are a one-of-a-kind. Nuts!
  10. Shows us how clueless this President is. That and he's so politically handcuffed by his "green" commitment and commitment to unions, he can't see the real opportunity. The real opportunity is this: Greatly reducing our dependence on foreign oil is of strategic and economic importance to this country, regardless of the "green" initiative. At the same time, alternative energy sources that can replace oil are potentially "green" (electricity) or can be domestically sourced (domestic oil, natural gas, ethanol, methanol and coal). The move away from imported oil could quite potentially be the next economic boom for this country. We've got a Department of Energy that was created in part for the purpose of exploring alternative energy sources more tha 30 years ago. A department that has a $30+ billion dollar budget annually. Obama's laterst threat is to use the DOE to further watchdog the polluters. He (and many others) fail to see the bundled opportunity of energy independence and clean energy. My guess is that Americans would widely support an energy independence initiatve that includes greater use of not only wind and solar power but also nuclear power, natural gas, American oil and methanol/ethanol. Americans overall I believe would support the Federal Government in a large investment in the development of emerging energy technologies. Tax incentives for clean energy are nice, but replacing coal powered electricity plants with solar and wind plants does more to shift jobs than create new jobs I'd bet. This President and Congress have a huge opportunity right under their noses and can't see it. The President who sees oil independence and clean energy as one and truly acts to cause a large shift away from foreign oil will IMO be the next American hero. Take a look at Boone Pickens and Anne Korin on youtube. We also as a nation have to seriously address the exportation of manufacturing an other jobs. We have to decide if we are giving up on heavy manufacturing in this country or not. We have to look closely IMO at trade policies and the true economic impact of so many American dollars being exported to other nations that manufacture and support the products we use. As we speak, I know of a very large US corporation that is quietly cutting a significant accounting workforce and replacing it with overseas accounting labor. Where does it stop? At the same time we have an open fukking border to the south with millions coming here illegally, taking jobs, committing crimes and consuming services. We have to stop the madness. Common friggin sense and some REAL SMART LONG TERM ACTION ON JOBS would go a long friggin way rigt now. Instead we've got $800 billion in short term garbage spending that most poeple knew would fail. He we sit watching it fail.
  11. If he's not talking about huge state-wide spending cuts, supporting WNY alone won't get NYS out of the woods.
  12. Elected officials or general public?
  13. The left rarely shouts. There is little passion on that side. I listen to Air America from time to time to hear the other side of the story. Ever listen to Ron Reagan and Bill Press? My god if you're driving in the car while listening those two and their guests will have you asleep in minutes.
  14. With the big decisions that have been made in Washington over the past year and those being proposed, you don't see cause for concern?
  15. Not letting you off the hook that easy. You stated " millions of Americans will never be able to see a doctor for a check up. Evil." Now you're saying it's racist? I say bullshyt. People expecting free coverage is the problem. It's never free. Someone has to pay for it. Polls show that most Americans want reform. The disagreement is how to do it. The Democrats in Congress want and are supporting a program that: 1. Allows the government to tax some people in order pay for others 2. Allows them to control the level of benefits people recieve 3. Forces business to fund health care benefits or be taxed 4. Is not deficit neutral even with tax increases and creates another expensive entitlement program 5. Cuts Medicare 6. Expands Medicaid meaning unfunded mandates to the states 7. Does not reduce health care costs as per CBO estimates 8. Is being rushed through the process regardless of the genuine concerns being raised Tell me why you or anyone else should support this? You don't think these are real concerns? You think this is the best way to solve the problem?
  16. You have to admit that he looks bad on this issue and that one of the knocks on the guy during the campaign was his weak position on terrorism. Unfortunately, it's playing out as scripted.
  17. Did you know that anyone can go to the doctor for a checkup and write a check on the way out the door? That's how my Mom did it when we were kids and frankly how everyone should do it. Part of what's wrong with our health care system is all the $100 claims that are processed. Ridiculous.
  18. Yes, "average voters" are the cause and there are far too many of them.
  19. It's a shame that we have to pick the lesser of two evils. The Democrats are quickly proving that they are the greater of the two.
  20. They've also demonized drunken sailors because drunken sailors stop spending when they run out of money.
  21. What would be the point in taxing cadillac plans? Simply a source of revenue? A way to level the playing field so that some people don't get better coverage than others? I recall that union cadillac plans were exempted from the tax in either the house or senate versions. I know of a local company that is very profitable and provides a wonderful health care plan (including family coverage with dental) at no charge to their employees. My guess is that this wonderful health care reform will reward them for all their good hard work as follows: 1. Tax their plan unless they reduce the benfits to their employees 2. Raise Federal tax significantly on the owners 3. Provide them a dis-incentive to hire more people.
  22. Yeah but that was before Barry realized that the American people (for the most part) wouldn't support his idea that a single payer system would be widely embraced. I'm sure he is genuinely dumbfounded by the revelation that Americans don't want the Government to step in and control their lives. I'm sure he is equally dumbfounded that Americans feel (for the most part) that we are the land of equal opportunity and not the land of equal achievment. He must also be dumbfounded that evil terrorists and States that sponsor terrorism have not responded to his friendly and apologetic appeals and that they are stepping up their attacks on Americans. Lastly, he's certainly dumbfounded that an $800 billion "stimulus" spending plan hasn't stopped an increase in unemployment.
  23. A bit of a reach wouldn't you say?
