  1. Saw it. Didn't find it all that funny.
  2. Without a doubt. The younger fans around here should read "By A Nose" by Fred Smerlas. It has some nice tributes to Hank.
  3. For sure. This should be headline political news. What are the chances that the major news outlets run this story as a headline?
  4. Income disparity is a symptom of weak demand for jobs to a great extent. So what would Warren or any others of her ilk do about that?
  5. Screwed just like Repub's were in 2008. Can't run on their party's record, and in the case of the Dem's you'd have to up go against the Clinton machine which is hard. I'm going to out on a limb right now though and say that someone that can challenge her will emerge and that Hillary will lose the nomination. The Dem party has to realize now that she is toting an ever growing truckload of baggage.
  6. They shot their wad and ran out the clock on the porkulus and Obamacare.
  7. Romney is retired and earns his money from investments. He paid about 15% in taxes, it'll be higher now as cap gains rates are higher. You can have the argument about whether or not investment income should be taxed as ordinary income (or not taxed at all) but who is dumb enough to fall for the argument that because Romney or people like him only paid 15% in taxes, others are suffering or earning less. We all know that top 5% in this country are mostly not earning investment income only and are subject to much higher rates of taxation.
  8. First, he says, "reform the tax and transfer system in the U.S. to “make it at least fair that those at the top pay at least the same share,” Excuse me? WTF numbers is he looking at? The rich don't pay the same share in taxes as those of lesser income? Utter nonsense.
  9. Yeah voter turnout is huge especially in the swing states. Repubs should have the enthusiasm advantage this time around but you can't ruleout Hillary's campaign spending lots of money to bus in voters to the polls along with same day registration and a free cheeseburger and a coke.
  10. It's hardly on me as far as putting those you mention in office. I never said the race card = the constitution card. I simply said that both of those cries are over-used.
  11. Yes. If people want "hope and light at the end of the tunnel" they can simply wake up one day and commit themselves to something positive. Hard work and a good attitude dramatically increase the chance for success.
  12. The left answers this with the "disparate impact" excuse.
  13. Yes. The constitution card is played almost as often as the race card. Not condoning the actions of Hillary, Barack and others but I think many people are getting worn out with both of those answers.
  14. Are you saying that angels are present among several races?
  15. Sometimes we refer to this place as "the island of misfit toys".
  16. We have some lower paid folks here. That's the highest area of turnover in the company and the common denominator amongst them over the years is that they just don't commit themselves to upward mobility. Many have similar behavior which is poorer than average attendance, lousy work ethic, are less than honest and have personal issues that get in the way of work. Their priorities are different than those of more successful people and they tend to hang out with others who are equally low performers so they're comfortable. That and their entertainment comes from a phone, the internet, booze and sex all of which are cheap and the handouts are better than ever. Education is expensive and it ain't fun or cool.
  17. I never mentioned minorities or religion at all, I simply stated and correctly so, that more that vote democrat have abortions or support it.
  18. The debate is not about right and wrong. It's purely political among the politicians. The vast majority of abortions are done for unwed mothers or mothers-to-be. The vast majority of those are democrats or potential democrats. Just as most democrats don't support the death penalty for murderers as the death penalty hurts their constituency more.
  19. Good guy Chandler, played hard and made a nice contribution last year. I wish him the very best.
  20. Some broader definitions for those that want a deeper understanding. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Cankles
  21. Have to agree that the campaign finance laws can be improved, but certainly you realize that both parties use similar funding playbooks and tactics.
  22. Prayer rugs and items with arabic writing have been found near the US/Mexican border for years and our government is quite aware. Obama's Homeland Security folks have been ignoring this potential threat for the greater good which is to allow more people to enter the country who are likely to support his party in future years.
  23. Oh yeah, I was awarded that too and that's another couple of pages added to the return and some more "commission" that the gubmint deserves since we aren't building it ourselves over here.
  24. Most people can avoid potholes and most potholes are fixed with local and state tax dollars. I don't think you'll find anyone that thinks all government spending is bad, but to effectively defend this current level of Federal spending as beneficial and appropriate and what most taxpayers want would be a big chore.
