  1. She can't possibly do worse than Arne Duncan, Obama's hand picked guy from Chicago Public Schools. I suppose leading a large and crappy system made him qualified. But that is not an endorsment of DeVos.
  2. but but she was in tears when Trump got elected.
  3. And for people that aren't into "nature" how about a subsidy for those that want to write poetry?
  4. You might be right but when will teams learn to stop stretching on unproven or average at best players?
  5. Here's a beauty from CNN encouraging us to listen to athletes regarding their dislike of Trump, because, you know, athletes are well informed on the issues this President faces. They're credible. Yeah right. http://www.cnn.com/2017/02/09/opinions/listen-to-athletes-on-trump-bass-opinion/index.html
  6. Ya know, if Conway gets a slap on the wrist for this fine. Every member of the media that spends page space and bandwidth each day on the petty stuff like this is wasting time and making a fool of themselves to people who are focused like a laser beam on the big issues we face. Entitlement and health care cost/fiscal responsibility/debt, national; security, stopping illegal immigration, growing the economy/wages/jobs. These are the biggies. The rest is just noise. !@#$ing dems are an embarrassment right now and can't win on policy.
  7. 2 bumps Some complex math was done to design that outfit or a lengthy session with solidworks or spandex is the greatest invention of our lifetime.
  8. Yes kicking the crap out of paychecks everywhere. Since about 2010, health ins premiums for employees here have about doubled and coverage is less (higher deductible).
  9. My wife broke out a beautiful deep blue Ivanka Trump blouse today. It's really unique, of top quality and looks great. Just might go online tonight and buy another Ivanka item for Valentine's day.
  10. Not many would celebrate an 18.4 average score on the ACT and a 73% graduation rate, but as I have said many times, parents and students are mostly to blame for such poor performance. http://cps.edu/News/Press_releases/Pages/PR1_09_20_2016.aspx
  11. Chicago, a great city in many respects has among the worst of political climates. No Republican even bothers to run for mayor. The public school system has abysmal student results. The city and school budget is a fiscal disaster. The city and schools are run strictly by democrats. I'm sure the letter that went home didn't explain that the $215 mil was extra money from the state which was offered as part of other fiscal changes needed for pension reform. Of course the dems turned down the deal but are crying that Rauner is "taking away" the money.
  12. Gotta protect the teacher monopoly, no competition in the teaching ranks.
  13. Yes and possibly someone in Trump's family or others with close ties to Trump will enrich themselves in the process.
  14. Nothing, especially if referring to Islamic terrorism and considering that the U.S. government considers middle eastern people to be part of the white race.
  15. No Obamacare was about some paying more so that some could pay less (but that was before many of those paying less ended up paying more too).
  16. Just more noise. Let's judge the President (whoever he or she is now or in the future) by what they do.
  17. Romneycare was only implemented because the federal government provided a substantial amount of funding. Romney made a deal using other people's money.
  18. I think you're confusing opinion/editorial content with news.
  19. Except that is not what Trump has attempted
  20. Tolliver was subsequently expelled from the race by Brazile, who described his comments as “disgusting.” But he isn't taking this lying down. He stands by his criticism of Islam and plans to take legal action against the DNC, saying that the “Democratic establishment are denying me due process and are attempting to suppress my voice, in violation of my First Amendment right." More at the link: http://www.truthrevolt.org/news/candidate-expelled-chairman-race-over-islam-criticism-intends-sue-dnc That is really special in more ways than one. Oh, has Mr. Ellison stated his position on gay rights?
  21. My biggest B word with unions is their right to strike, especially the public sector unions. No group of individuals (non-stakeholders) should have the right or the power to shut down or slow down the productivity of an organization IMO. To me the future of unions should center more around member training helping to make union members preferred hires due to a better skill level than those that may not be as well trained.
