  1. Mike Mayock singled out the Bills in a roundtable discussion on NFLN about who had the best or most intriguing draft, much much more interested in his take.
  2. its not just about talent but the ever elusive "Football IQ". Bellichick seems to get smart players that can do what he asks them to do in his system. I seriously question the brain power and decision making of more than a few Bills (especially on the D side of the ball) like Graham,Williams, McKelvin, Sheppard who cant seem to get coached up and make the same mistakes over and over again
  3. Correction, the Bills have a #2 receiver- his name Stevie Johnson. What they need is a #1 receiver. Also, the announcers called him a 5th round pick during the game last night when of course he was 7th.
  4. I was at that game, by some fluke of fate, while I was living in the Bay Area in my 20s, and will never forget it. People around me and those streaming out of the stadium all sensed they had witnessed a (regular season) game for the ages. If I remember correctly it set an NFL record for no punts in a game, but the thing is it wasnt as if the defenses were bad, in fact they were pretty darn good. It was just two HOF QBs guiding offensive machines at the top of their game and everyone wanted to watch including the D. I also had the privilege of watching Jope Montanas last game at home as a 49er the year before against Barry Sanders.
  5. Good post and analysis. Will finish it right after Im done skimming Atlas Shrugged.
  6. Sorry, the Bills even suck at sucking. They scrape out enough meaningless wins every year to miss out on the franchise quarterbacks to build around. Now the Colts are going from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck: that is #1 at sucking.
  7. Injuries to top line players exposes little depth which directly results from a combo of poor front office drafting and a cheap owner. As far as why key players tend to get IR'd for the season, its a maddening trend that Im convinced it has to do with a perennial losing organization/culture, Im just not sure how exactly.
  8. I was trying to figure it out watching him today. Not the speediest guy like a Chris Johnson. Not the biggest or most bruising back like a Steve Jackson. Not the shiftiest like his teammate CJ. A low cener of gravity but not a bowling ball like Jones-Drew. He follows his blocks as well as anybody, and keeps his legs pumping to finish runs with tremendous lower leg strength, even though its not always that noticeable. Very good balance to bounce off defenders and sustain runs in a crowd (unlike CJ). There is nothing particularly outstanding about his game, just a very nice combination of ALL of the above in sufficent quantities.
  9. How the heck many Gronkowskis are there in the NFL anyway?
  10. I disagree, Al Cowlings was very productive driving OJ's getaway car.
  11. A lot of it was prevent D from the Eagles but Ill still go out on a limb with this prediction: Detroit will go to the Super Bowl before we make it to the playoffs. THats how far ahead they are in rebuilding.
  12. I could see BB swapping teams with us and still kicking our a**
  13. Ironic- I have Fred Jackson backing him up on my fantasy team.
  14. We now have the same record as the Cowboys, Colts, Bengals, Eagles, Vikings and few other playoff teams from last year. I would be more p*** off and alarmed if I was a supposedly contending Bengals or (trendy pick) Niners fan. I saw a lot of offensive ineptitude from the Vikes/Saints, Skins/Cowboys, Steelers/Falcons, Lions/Bears just to name a few clunkers. The defenses seem to be ahead of the offenses at this point in the season. Reason to be concerned? Sure- but its just one game, I agree.
  15. Never mind Gailey's offense, his best decision has been the switch to the 3-4 which Ive been begging for for years and am willing to be patient for it to develop. One more season of watching undersized Tampa 2 get pushed around, not Bills footbal IMO, I was going to puke.
  16. This team makes we want to tear my friggin hair out. The turnstile of high draft running backs and gadget players this decade means this team goes absolutely NOWHERE. Gbye Travis, uh WIllis, uh Marshawn, uh next.
