Thanksgiving Gameday: Three Good Matchups
apuszczalowski replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could all be good games, though for once the Lions might not be the joke and could be the ones laying a beating down in Detroit The other games could be close ones Detroit beats down Chicago Cowboys beat Eagles w/the Sanchez we know and love back to his normal self Seahawks squeak past the niners in a close low scoring game As I say all that, I'm expecting I go 1 for 3 this afternoon -
Lets get serious DENVER vs BUFFALO

Ah yes, the typical troll response, they always come back to tell those who disagree or call them trolls just how much more successful they are in life with their fancy job, and how they have been fans since day one, attending every game. It's straight from the trolling 101 handbook....... -

Did Blount plan move to Pats?
apuszczalowski replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm sure he didn't come up with a plan all his own, but these guys do have agents who are always looking to get a few extra bucks I wouldn't be surprised that he talked to his agent and said he wasn't happy with how he was being used and his agent knew that he wouldn't be out of work for long so he told him that he should try and get the Steelers to let him go. He was pissed at the end of the Monday night game so he quit ND got his wish -
You just don't get it, anyone who isn't employed or not making big money are just lazy or uneducated There are tons of high paying careers everywhere if you just work hard and push yourself, and if there aren't any in your area, its just as simple as moving your entire life to whereever they are currently plentiful Rewarding CEOs for failure and/or losing money is just good business, and the CEO deserves the millions they get because they were able to negotiate a deal that included a golden parachute by having a resume that would get them in a position to be a CEO. Remember when the banks were giving out bonuses to the bankers who were the ones that got the banks and the country into the economic mess? Those bankers deserve every penny because they are so good at what they do and will be valuable as future CEOs Athletes deserve Millions of dollars to play a sport/game because they were born with athletic gifts that provide the world with so many good things
-
Sure, many of us wouldn't complain if a brain surgeon was making $350 million over 13 years, but most CEOs are rocket scientist and the 'naturally high IQ' that you say they have is that they know how to play the business game and weasel their way up the ladder using others to move up the ladder. What does the CEO of a company do that deserves more then someone who cures diseases or saves lives? As for someone being born with the ability to hit a ball hard, throw it fast at a target, catch and run with a large ball or skate on ice and shoot a piece of rubber, why does that mean the person should be entitled to salaries of millions of dollars? Whats the positive that they bring to day to day society? When was the last time you were young and looking for a job in todays job market?Easy to say sitting in your ivory tower that good jobs are plentiful and easy to obtain

As bad as it sounds because with teh economy its not always easy for everyone to get a decent job to live off of, Minimum wage positions are not supposed to be careers that you can use to live off of. You shouldn't be going to work at McDonalds as a fry cook as your career. They are supposed to be jobs for students to earn money while in school, or as a second income to a household, or as a way to earn some extra money. But unfortunately today there are many who have no choice but to try an live off a minimum wage position because theres no other jobs to be found.

So then its not the coaching thats a problem (Head and Offensive) its the QB? So why are we running Hackett and Marrone out of town? So what you are saying is that the Cardinals front office is just as inept as everyone thinks the Bills front office is, except they got lucky the Bills picked Marrone and they lucked out getting a guy that wasn't their first choice?
-
But he didn't do anything to a dog so who cares, he's only had a list miles long of previous incidences while on teams of him being mentally unstable and having issues causing teams to get rid of him. And who cares if hes a headcase and comes with tons of baggage, he's an improvement over guys that currently play on this team in a season where the same people that want him have written it off saying its not possible to make the playoffs Hopefully the Pegulas have a shred of decency and don't even answer calls from his agent calling to see if they would be interested......

Sabres / First Niagara Center
apuszczalowski replied to 707BillsFan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Home opener is this thursday against colombus, then they go to Chicago saturday There really isn't a bad seat, the higher ups aren't as bad as some are saying and in some spots the view can even be better cause you can see the whole rink instead of just close ups of the area in front of you. There is nothing really obstructing your views in the seating area in the arena As for that weekend, If you can't buy the tickets now (if they aren't available on their site), go to stub hub closer to the date (week or 2 before start looking). If they start out bad, tickets might be cheaper. Theres always tickets available on stub hub -
Drywall patches bleeding through paint
apuszczalowski replied to TSNBDSC's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Are the patches smooth with the wall, and just something visible, or are they patches that you can feel are different? If you can feel them, you didn't sand enough and should sand then do a larger skim coat (and lightly sand again) If its just areas where the paint/finish appears darker, you should prime then paint Theres nothing wrong with the paint with primer if your repainting an existing wall that was previously painted, but for new drywall you should always use atleast one coat of drywall primer over the fresh drywall and mud, then paint. The drywall primer will give the wall a better surface and will help the paint keep a consistent colour over the entire wall, otherwise the drywall paper, and the white mud will cause the paint colour to vary -
Actually, by your description you root for neither, you root for the city they play in If the Bills leave Buffalo, the players and the Team are still the same, just in a different location.................. I don't even think this could happen according to some reports earlier (when Jacobs was the front runner before Trump). It would still be in the family so its not permitted. As for MLSE, can't they get around it because they (Toronto) don't currently have a a pro football franchise? I thought the reason why teh Jacobs couldn't own the Bills along with the Bruins is because Boston/New England has the Patriots already? Basically if it wasn't for the pats, the Jacobs could own the Bruins and the Bills?

stephen colbert named letterman replacement
apuszczalowski replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in Off the Wall Archives
He has said it before in interviews that the 'Colbert Report" Stephen Colbert is based off of Bill O'Reilly pretty much. While on the Daily Show he didn't really portray this 'character' as much, I think it was when they came up with the idea for another show this is what he decided they should do. I wonder if Comedy Central is going to replace the Colbert Report with another show from someone else on the Daily Show? I would love to see Lewis Black do a similar show, but worry that his rant style would be too much for a show thats on 4x's a week. On another note, saw something yesterday about Chelsea Handler, shes ending her show on E! and tweeted something about 'working on business' with a photo of her and some papers with a CBS logo on it (or something like that). This has led to a rumor that Fergusson was really unhappy he didn't get the Letterman spot and that he is going to leave his show and they are going to get Chelsea to replace him -
I will probably fire it up tomorrow night (wife is having a friend over and is cooking tonight) For BBQ sauce, I have no issues with the store bought stuff, I really enjoy the Bullseye ones I don't have a gourmet pallet, I don't need anything fancy

That is the basis for the "Stephen Colbert" character of the Colbert ReportHis character is supposed to be O'Reilly, its why he refers to him as "Papa Bear" -
So a little update, bought the one I was looking at on Thursday night. It is normally $500, on sale for $298 (Canadian), Char-Broil Gourmet IIRC http://www.charbroil.com/grills/gas-grills/gourmet-tru-infrared-series/char-broil-gourmet-t-36d-463251713.html It took me maybe 2hours total (spread over thursday night and Sunday) to assemble. The Home Depot I bought it from would assemble it for free bought I would have been waiting til atleast tomorrow to get it cause the assembly guy is only in Mon & Tues and had over 15 grills to assemble. The grill feels solid, not like the cheaper $100-200 grills. 3 easy to remove and clean porcelain coated cast iron cooking grill surfaces, plus the plate underneath is like a giant bowl to catch anything that drips through and is easily removable to clean. I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, my propane tank had about 2 minutes of gas in it that was enough to get it started and make sure it worked. Would have been done sooner and enjoyed a few nice BBQ'd meals on it already but a family emergency that took up the weekend keeping me away. I know that everyone says 'you get what you pay for' or that its better to just buy the expensive one but thats not always true. I can't justify spending more on a grill then what I purchased my kitchen stove for and I'm not a gourmet cook who needs something super expensive to cook some chicken, steaks, hot dogs or burgers on. Charcoal over Propane doesn't work for cooking during the week when I'm not getting home to start cooking til 5:30/6pm. I just want something that I can light and take a few minutes to get it up to temperature and start cooking. My last grill worked fine, bought it for about $100 from a place around here that sells returns/refurbs from Sears and it worked great for about 5 years. Only issue I had was the lower drip tray rotted out badly last summer from leaving it outside all year (covered in the winter), and when I was grabbing it off the back deck when moving in early december (when we had the first big snowstorm here, yup that was the weekend I was moving) it was frozen to the deck and the side tables broke when trying to get it off the deck. Atleast now my new house has a garage where i can store it out of the weather

Aren't they violating the lease themselves then by having this group talk about a new stadium? If the clause is regarding a move out of RWS to a new one, and as some have said in other move related posts that a new owner couldn't come in and discuss moving or a stadium being built anywhere, how can they not view the current discussions about building a new stadium as being in violation of this?
-
Thats mainly why I was asking here if anyone has used them. From the reviews and promo video they talk about the new Infrared technology and its the entire grill, supposed to seal in the juices and allow you to cook faster, with less heat IIRC. I think I'm going to pick it up and try it out I guess I'm lucky, it would really only be for me cause the only meat my wife eats is chicken or fish, so any meat I cook on it will probably be just for me until my daughter is old enough to eat it too.

My Kitchen stove cost me less than that, no way thats in the budget for me The one I'm looking at is on sale for $298 ($200 off the regular price)

stephen colbert named letterman replacement
apuszczalowski replied to BillsFan-4-Ever's topic in Off the Wall Archives
he's pretty close to be the total opposite of himself on the Colbert Report There may be problems with people who may or may not watch because they either liked or disliked the character he portrayed on that show, but he is always pretty good interviewing his guests and I think will make a good choice for it -

I don't think he is going to keep the Character, doubtful CBS would be in favour of making "The late Show" into a longer "Colbert Report" Definitly unexpected choice, but I think its a good one, could have always gone the NBC route and just hired another ex-SNL performer..... -
Thats something that the write ups and the reviews said doesn't happen with the infrared because the plate is over the flame and it keeps from having flame ups well I figured that a Grill/cooking question would set off the "Chief Signal" for you to respond Yeah, I would like to get a smoker eventually too, but for most cooking in the spring/summer/fall, I don't have the time for charcoal and just cook with a propane grill From the video I watched online, the "infrared" wasn't something you could turn on or off, it was the full grill itself, it was basically a plate over the burners that heats up and provides the heat to the grill surface
-
I'm in the market for a new propane grill this spring and have been looking around the last few days. Not a pro, or looking for something elaborate, but not looking for a disposable cheapo one either. So I was looking online and found what looks like a good deal for one at the high end of the budget, Is it worth it to get an infrared grill? Is anyone using one of these? Are they any good or is it just some fad? The reviews I have read from the store are all good basically its a regular gas grill, with a plate over the burner that heats up instead of just the exposed flame providing the heat. Might pick one up tonight, just thought I would see what people here think of them and if its worth the money
