Bring Pepper Johnson back as DC?
apuszczalowski replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah, he is not going to bring in anyone that doesn't run his system, and his DC is going to be more of a figure head while he is the mind behind it. If, and that's a big if, Rex gets rid of Thurman and replaces him with someone else, it's more likely to be someone he has a tie with in the past. I think Petting could be a possibility if there's a stolen here to be a DC and he has no other offers, but more then likely I can see him bringing in his brother Rob.... -
nothing else had worked so far, now they are thinking outside the box, lol I don't think the coaches role will be diluted, and it actually seems like an interesting spot getting to pick someone you can work with and your same views. In theory it should lead to. Coach and GM on the same page with the players they obtain and how they want the team to be run instead of so e places where the GM brings in guys that don't fit what the coach wants to run....

Marrone/Schwartz to Miami? Nope. Gase it is.

better then 2-3 years from now... -
Meanwhile…at Big Blue HQ
apuszczalowski replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, more comments from Bills fans but hurt over not getting the satisfaction of seeing Marrone fired and instead dumping them. The only people in the league who don't think he is a decent coach are Bills fans, and right now there are many of them that think Rex Ryan just needs time to turn things around....... -
Thoughts on Chuck Pagano as DC?
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he doesn't because he is a defensive genius, he might need another puppet to keep the masses entertained though. Rex won't bring in a consultant for his defence (except maybe his brother) and he won't be ditching Thurman unless again it's for his brother. Rex's defence is perfect, all it needs is all new special hard to find players to replace the current players so he could take the really good defence he was handed and replace it with a defence that will rank at best the same as the one he was given. It's only going to take a couple years to get bit where they want it..... -
Pegulas announce Rex and Whaley will return in 2016
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
their GM came pretty close to just coming out and saying they were losing on purpose for McDavid -
I know exactly how they will approach him, mostly likely with open arms as they trip over themselves laughing at how the bills would just let him go because Rex Ryan didn't know how to use him properly. But hey, the Bills don't want to look like an inept organisation letting the great Rex Ryan go after a catastrophic failure of a season.

One Year Ago Today......
apuszczalowski replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he would have been 8-8 if they lose to the Pats, which might still be better then this year with the defensive genius. Who cares if it was the offence or defence that won those games? Now it only counts if the side of the ball that you are known for is the reason you won the game? Well this year the offence was why they won most of the games they did and not Rex's 'D'..... -

I agree and think that Marrone could actually be a really good HC if he picked the right guys for his coaching staff which might be easier to do now that he has more connections in the league. His biggest fault with the Bills is that his offence wasn't good and that he stuck with an inexperienced coordinator whom he was close with and wouldn't let go. Replace Hackett with Roman and the Bills are in the playoffs, maybe even doing some damage. -
Mehta: Rex would be playoff bound with these Jets
apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fans would have slot more patience for Rex or any other coach if the team still missed the playoffs but atleast looked like a team improving, not one that regressed as badly as it did in what was the strength of the team with a new coach who's strength was the area that regressed. It also doesn't help that we all spent years watching his act with a division rival fail. If this year's team was strong defensively and the offence just wasn't good enough this year to get over the hump into the playoffs, there would be slot more people willing to give Rex a pass and look forward to next year. But right now, it didn't even take him a full season to have players come out against him and we'll saw a team that was undisciplined and not prepared while hearing a bunch of bs from him all week in the media talking like he is the best. Smart move would have been for TP to come out and say this is not the way he wants his organisation to be run and is admitting he made a mistake last year and let Rex go. He could then say the rest of the coaching staff will be evaluated and be given an option to stay if they new coach agrees, but otherwise they are free to interview for positions that would be a step up from their current spots like usual. -

apuszczalowski replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
his coaching was downright horrible this year and he deserves nothing. He isnt some unknown first time head coach that is starting over a rebuild of a team. He is an estate listed coach who took over a team that only need some tweaking to improve and decided to fix something that wasn't broke just because it wasn't his. Don't think anyone outside of maybe a few media personalities close to Rex that would look at this move and say its a bad one after what happened to the team this year. This isn't Cleveland dumping a first time HC just because they liked someone else better and he didn't turn around a dumpster fire franchise in one year. -
McKelvin willing to play Safety & take pay cut
apuszczalowski replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
but he fumbled a couple punts! -
Obviously Osweiler (auto corrects to Parolee on my phone, lol) for the sole reason that he is not currently a Bill which automatically makes him better then anyone currently a Bill. Crippling punishment levied on the Pats? Maybe as crippling as stubbing your toe can be considering they have dominated the AFC for over a decade.....

apuszczalowski replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yeah, Fred Jackson was part of the culture of losing here in Buffalo and there were pitchforks out after Whaley for even coming up with the idea of letting him go. That term always comes up for the players fans don't like, and McKelvin,no matter what he does on the field will always be hated because of when he was drafted and a couple of kick return fumbles, which no kick returner in NFL history has ever done.... -

so what your saying is the Bills suck and whatever they did to win games last year doesn't matter and doesn't count because they suck so they didn't actually win. I guess the bills are the only team who's wins don't count because the other team didn't have all their best players playing and because their kicker made a kick. well Bills fans were out with pitchforks ready to run the coach who was able to get this team their best record in a decade out if town before he resigned last year..... disagree on Carpenter, he was good last year, but was bad the year before with Miami and bad again this year. I would look at last year as the fluke/anomaly then the norm for him now -
Bills need to lose to make the playoffs
apuszczalowski replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
you really think any of these guys actually care if the Jets make it into the playoffs after beating them? The majority of these guys don't really care about the rivalries the fans do and only bleed red and blue as long as the paychecks are deposited. Half of these guys probably won't be here next year so win or lose, it's no big deal. How many chances have the Bills had to play spoiler the last 16 years, and how has beating a team helped them the next year? There's no momentum being carried over to next year because the turnover in the off-season will have a good chunk of the starters playing somewhere else. -
but that's not an excuse, there was no need for the level of change they are going to have to do just so they can save face and not fire Rex after one horrible season. There was no reason the defence had to be changed, and that blame goes more to whomever made the decision to bring Rex in knowing he would want to change it. This should have been an easy coaching transition, they only needed to find someone who was willing to leave the defence alone and concentrate on fixing the offence. This could have been a dream job for many offensive coaches, getting to walk into a team with a great defence and given the reigns to rebuild the offence how they wanted it. How many coaches can say they get to walk into that scenario? Unfortunately the Bills did the exact opposite of what they should have done, like usual, and found the I e person who wanted to fix what wasn't broken just because it wasn't the way he normally would have it. yeah, it's only been the last few weeks that the patriots have been scouring the dumpsters for RBs and Gronk and the WRs have only been getting injured the last couple games. Their online has been healthy all year aside from the last couple games,my mistake.

unfortunately we can't be like those lucky playoff teams who made it through the season without Injuries, Patriots, Broncos, Bengals, Texans, Packers, etc........ Rex is the only Cancer (if you don't like cancer you could use any STD or Aids in its place) on this team just like he was in NY/NJ. It's not a coincidence that he leaves and they are looking like a powerful team again on the verge of making the playoffs while his new team I'd taking 2 steps back when it only needed to continue what it was doing to leap ahead. Unfortunately TP has decided that they need to see more from this moron so they won't be embarrassed by letting him go after one year and instead look like even bigger idiots by keeping him around and continuing to step backwards. Atleast the fans can continue to save their money for playoff tickets for another few years.... invade you didn't know, they have been battling injuries all season, not just the last few weeks to WRs and their oline, and are going into the playoffs again as the #1 team in the AFC. Yeah, keep using the Bills injuries as excuses, that's what's really keeping them from turning the corner. Not because their inept reject HC decided that the defence that was one of the top earldom the league last year with o e of the best dlines needed to be changed to his scheme negating the positives and strengths of the highly paid dline in place, and he coached them to have the most penalties in the league by a wide margin.

you can do both, in FA a real #2 WR will cost alot more then $3MIL The point to bringing him back at that price is to Gerome additional talent for a low price hoping he out plays the deal. $3 MIL is peanuts these days for good depth. It shouldn't stop the bills from doing anything in FA. If they keep Rex it's going to cost them alot more in dead cap space just to cut productive players on the defence so he can bring in his own guys. The team already wasted roster spots on 2 kickers, and 3 Qbs at one point. Harvin when healthy is a #1 talent and was the bills best receiver when he was on the field. He is an upgrade over the entire receiving Corp not named Watkins. If they can convince Co him to come back at a discount and agree to a reduced role he might even make it through 16 games. And no one sys they can't bring others in to upgrade also every team looks for the the high reward guys. In a salary cap league you have to have some guys like that because you can't have all high paid pros at every position.

imagine having a team that wins 11-12 games with an offence that struggles to score and a top rated defence...... Ah heck, Imagine cheering for a team that will win more than 10 games..... 1 f'in more point by denver was all I needed to win $350. I hate that teams never want to go for the kill shot with a td and always try ton settle for Fgs, I was rooting for Mcmanus to miss that last one. Then I was hoping for the bungles to win so it could cost the broncos the playoffs if I was going to lose anyway. I lost out on winning the week in my work pool too because if the tie breaker.... Worst thing about it was I was ready to take this game ending in a tie (either team wins by 3 or less) but I talked myself out of it thinking the bungles Offence would be worse.

Bills claim Leonard Hankerson off waivers
apuszczalowski replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would if they were playing the Jets again, I bet Rex would be calling his booky right now if he could after this move to screw the Pats. Think of all the fans that will now have to cancel their SB plans in New England..... -
he can't be perfect, otherwise he couldn't be Bills fans favorite to be their HC
-
true, they are open for both I guess. They could go back to Brock for week 16 and say Manning not ready, or they could go back to Manning cause Brock is banged up and not 100%. Either way whomever is back there is probably going to get killed behind that line. I don't think I would spring for 32" tvs for this oline if I was the QB
