  1. Ironically, when you read the original post he is talking about, the writer did in fact, just make it up! Josh Norris says the Browns didn't tell the media who they are taking at one, which means Jackson doesn't know, because he says Jackson would have told. There is not a fact or even a secret source. he just literally made it up. And it gets reported as news.
  2. The line is a Great Weakness. It was a soft spot last year as it was. Now we will have the Bengals center, and then some other guys who could not displace some of the lesser starters we had last year, as our starters. And we have no one at all to back them up as depth. That is the current circumstance I hope they do something Hapless. I have the idea that McCoy could not run right last year very well. I wonder do you know where to find a chart that would show how he did for left versus right?
  3. You seem firm in your beliefs. But you don't go further. What will they then do if the 3 prime Qbs are gone? How will they sell that to the fan base?
  4. They have lost their senses. Somehow this feels, insulting to me. A Parrot? What is this the Bozo show?
  5. I have NO idea why. But that struck me as very funny!
  6. Well, I think you are distorting things maybe. Yes Eli is older and his passing production has dropped severely. He only threw for about 24% more yards and touchdowns than Tyrod last year. So yeah pretty bad. I don't see how the translates into Tyrod being way better, except as always, unless one ignores that Tyrod's passing problem. Setting that aside he is pretty good. And Eli was without Beckham who was injured for a good part of last year. But like I say, I don't know about Eli now. I do know that the Giants main needs are by consensus, Offensive line and running back and outside linebacker. And as I mentioned, this draft is deep at those potions. Also Offensive line and running back can and do come in and help right away. So yes, rookies can help right away at some positions. So to me at least it is't so cut and dry what the best course of action is.
  7. 1) Eli is 37 and they had him behind a lousy line. He had no viable running game. 2) 2 quarterbacks have won superbowls at his age 3) Soon they will lose Eli to age or contract issues or both. 4) No way to know when you will have an opportunity to get another Superbowl caliber QB. The Giants were expected to be playoff team last year. This years draft is set up perfectly for them to repair the major problems and make a run for it.
  8. Good pinpointing of the difference between us on this one. I think they are salivating to to move back! If I am Gettleman I got a 2 time Superbowl winning QB though older, perhaps the best wide receiver in football (for one more year) I get me a solid line to protect the passer and run block, I get myself a top notch running back, and away we go! To me picking Barkley at #2 is Sammy Watkins all over again, but a little worse. I will be extra interested in what Gettlman does to see which way he goes with it Thursday.
  9. The Giants pass on a QB high if Eli has gas in the tank. To me that is obvious. This draft is perfect for the Giants because their major needs are O-line and running back. This draft is deep in both. They could be a Superbowl contender in one swoop if Eli still has it. Picking a QB is at best a 50-50 chance at a good QB and you usually have to wait years to find out. Take the linemen and an RB and go for it.
  10. A thought provoking post. I of course, have no idea what anybody will do, besides being very sure the Jets will take a QB. Here is my take on what the Giants might do if they do not want a QB at #2, and how the Bills could get that #2 pick. Let's say the Bills will only trade the farm for one player so they can't make a deal until the Browns pick. A giant swap of picks when the Giants go on the clock could lead to disaster for the Giants if they want to pick higher than #12 and plus then they have a whole different draft board profile working with a hugely different set of picks (The Bills old ones). It would be a lot to contend with during the draft with the clock ticking I think. Maybe not a smart thing to do. Except if the Bills have done that work for them already, without anyone knowing. The Bills could and should already know pretty much what it will take to get to picks 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 based on the picks they have. So the Bills could offer in effect, the 7th overall pick, plus added picks, to the Giants for their #2. They wouldn't give the Giants that 7 pick directly but they would give them the picks to get it, plus whatever else they had to add to make it worth the jump from 7 to 2. No one in the Giants division picks before #13 so there would be no complication there. In sum, the Gaints probably can't react quickly enough to re-plan their draft carefully if they trade on draft day. But the Bills could already have the deals worked out in principle for the Giants so they just hand them the keys so to speak. And they could do this because Gentleman and Beane are friends who trust each other. What do people think?
  11. Oh. You had written that you had become "lost" at scene. Which is the very first word. So I was explaining what it meant. How many words did you get through before you became lost?
  12. Scene means the setting, the environment in which the story takes place. It is a word that is used when talking about plays and theater to describe where something is taking place. Also in this instance, it tips the reader that what follows is to be seen as a play or story. So, what he meant by scene was, the scene (where the story begins) is in an apple orchard, which is a group of apple trees planted and tended for the purpose of growing apples. Apples are a fruit that people like to eat.
  13. This was Peter King on Twitter "Promotion for MMQB Monday: — 1. My mock draft is going to be worth less than nothing. 2. Please don’t read it. 3. I’m not kidding. — Have a nice weekend!"
  14. Should we have a moment if silence for "It Starts With One"? That slogan didn't make it through even one season. It died too young.
  15. Its weird that you get even to the NFL level, and not everyone will follow along unless you have a guy with the IT factor.
  16. I never followed the draft candidates closely like I am doing this year. So I have never seen the promotional work that I am seeing now. Baker Mayfield has a series of sorts called "Behind Baker" with 8 minutes episodes on Facebook that follow his path to the draft. Josh Allen has a Youtube video about who he is and how he came to be where he is, and his philosophies. Josh Rosen has a high profile magazine article. All 3 of the above do some Twitter and Instagram stuff. Most or all of it is professionally packaged. Lamar Jackson is busy on Twitter, Instagram, and has a short Youtube video. All of his stuff has more of a home made, one man job type of quality to it. To varying degrees all of the above have a bit of a preachy quality to them in terms of how they came to be destined for greatness, so to speak. I haven't seen much from Darnold. It could be out there but I haven't seen him doing too much. Other positions may be doing it as well? All I have seen is Barkely seems pretty active. Not to pick on him but since we have no chance of getting him I can show the promotional preachy side of this stuff. Here is the header from his Instagram: Saquon Barkley "One Man Could Change the World" You can't argue with his point. One man can change the world I suppose. But I am not sure at this point that my money is on anybody in this crop of NFL football rookies to change the world. I see them more as young men who can play football. I know it is just advertising really but as I say, I haven't seen this before. Is it usual for draft prospects to have this kind of promotional advertising? Do you think it will help them with teams? I don't think it will help them with teams. So I wonder why the focus on it just now. But I wonder do you think it helps them?
  17. I'm not sure which will turn out better. So as a fan I take Rosen, because I think his high profile will be a nice change for Buffalo. The Bills will be higher profile and maybe have some fun or interesting media exposure. Plus I can do all kinds of stuff with calling him "Moses Rosen" who will lead us to the promised land and so on. As a coach I take Darnold because his mouth is closed. That would be way easier on my nerves and I could just coach and do my job and not have to worry about dealing with things he said. Of the top 5, so far as I know, the ONLY one who has his mouth closed is Sam Darnold. No twitter, no instagram, no youtube promo videos, no expressing his philosophy. The guy knows you keep his mouth shut like a rookie should. To some degree the other guys are all doing promotional work to sell themselves. Stuff like "telling their story". But at this point their story is they are an undrafted rookie who has shown nothing in the NFL. So I think Darnold is smartest about that, because he seems to know that.
  18. Look, I can't spend the time to compile reports to disprove all of the many wrong headed things you say man. I have a life to live. And you won't learn from it anyway. So to save time I will just agree with you. Yes Scott we all remember the many games when the Bills were behind late, the tension was high , and all of our spirits soared when Tyrod stepped on the field in the 4th. We all thought, oh thank God, here comes Tyrod!! We knew we were going to win because Tyrod would march the team down the field! And we all stood as one, chanting Ty-Rod! Ty-Rod! as he threw laser passes that defied defending! And then on to VICTORY!! Time and time again Tyrod lead us to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and to bring glory to the city and the team!
