  1. I love this city. I've lived in two other American cities for a total of ten years (one large, one small), and in one other country (but that was a village in Spain, not a city). I think you're nuts, and I think, beyond that, that you don't understand that we live here by choice and not by predetermination. Anyone can move anywhere in these fifty beautiful states, but the people who live here, by and large, do so because we love it. I cannot imagine living elsewhere again, and being happy. I cannot imagine being happy in NYC, or Boston, or Milwaukee, or Raleigh, or Reno, Spokane, or Honolulu. I cannot imagine being happy in Madrid, Tokyo, Montreal, or Paris. I !@#$ing love it here, and even as the winters come (and damn, do I hate winter), I always will. Buffalo kicks ass. So !@#$ off.
  2. I asked Gilmore (who played against him in the SEC) point-blank: What do you think about the Glenn pick? Did USC hate playing against him? His answer: Yeah, we hated playing against him. Good enough for me.
  3. After meeting Gilmore tonight, and actually talking with him a bit, I'll retract everything else here. He's a great guy, and I think he's just now starting to appreciate what it means (to us) to be a BIll.
  4. Since I want the Bills to spend a late-round pick on a QB anyway, I won't mind if McCoy is that QB. But really, he'll probably be available for nothing after he's cut. EDIT: I don't see a trade, actually; he's too expensive ($5M/yr) to be a backup. Cleveland is going to have to cut him.
  5. Who's arguing? I asked two questions because I missed what happened last night. Thanks to the two people who answered them.
  6. Nice job by Minnesota, then. Was there another credible trade partner or was this a complete fleecing?
  7. Can someone--maybe someone who was following it live--explain to me why Cleveland traded three picks to move up one spot? Seems to me that they should have known that the Vikings weren't going to take a RB (they have Peterson) and that Richardson would have been there at No. 4. What am I missing?
  8. Adams. I'll buy him an eighth, as long as he smokes all of it soon enough to dodge the tests once he really is a union member.
  9. No, it won't. This guy will not be a Buffalo Bill in five years.
  10. MInnesota FLEECED Cleveland (no surprise). I don't love the Bills' pick. Hey, I hope Gilmore is the greatest ever, but wow, I don't love this pick.
  11. Here's a more reliable source: http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/2012/04/fred-not-focused-on-new-deal.html
  12. I was going to say yes, and then I saw this. Since you, IMO, know the draft better than anyone on this board, I'll now change my answer to "definitely yes."
  13. I'm of the "draft a QB every year" line of thought, so I hope the Bills will take one in the late rounds, keep Brown, and grant Thigpen his release.
  14. I don't want to start a thread for this. So I'll say that here's the reason we endlessly whine about the cheats: http://deadspin.com/5904127?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_facebook&utm_source=deadspin_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow That, and the cheating.
  15. Thank you. I had forgotten about the second fourth-round pick, and I moved on to the fifth round page after seeing Randle.
  16. Hardy Brown died in a mental institution.
  17. Astro, I likely won't get to listen to your segment. But do you really think the Bills won't take a single offensive lineman? Drafttek's latest mock has it that way.
  18. That misses the question of why it is included.
  19. Hey, I hope he falls all the way down to the Bills' second round pick. They then can take two good players who are being passed over. Floyd, who illegally consumed alcohol, and this guy.
  20. Best answer I've seen so far. Adams is not a member of the union, but still, best answer I've seen.
  21. For my part, anyway, I'm not questioning whether it is a condition of employment in the NFL. I'm questioning why it is a condition of employment. And "because it's illegal" doesn't work for me, for the reasons I gave above. EDIT: It's also not illegal everywhere.
