Thanks for confirming that it wasn't fake deja vu. As for the people asking about Encore, it's an "it bar" for the 21-30 set from Thursday through Saturday. Wood is squarely in that age zone, and there is nothing wrong with him hanging there. It's a nice place, off Chip, but near enough that I (not in the 21-30 set anymore, unfortunately) don't go there unless it's dinner on a weeknight or for a planned event. Which it actually does really well. (I've been to a couple of planned "ends-in-zero" birthday parties on the patio.) As for weeknights, it's a fair dinner consideration in the mid price range. The food really is good.

This is unfortunate but inevitable and necessary. I don't subscribe, mostly because I don't want the newsprint piling up, so I've been reading for free for years. If the tablet version is truly a copy of the paper (as opposed to what a lot of magazines do), I'll subscribe that way; if not, I'll become a Sunday-only print edition subscriber.

I'm aware of that position. Problem is, it's also one more thing the Bills have to prepare. It takes time away from the Bills practicing other offensive plays, too. Seems like a net gain of zero to me. If that happened a higher percentage of the time, I might reassess it.

I hate the wildcat. It was clever five years ago and is outdated now. Teams seldom pass out of it, so it's almost always a direct snap to a RB who is going to run. And yeah, even if that "RB" is a part-time QB, part-time WR (Smith), teams STILL know it's going to be a run. I realize Gailey might like it. I don't.

This is getting idiotic. Look at the link posted above by Billsrhody and the stats there. Leads the league in touchbacks, fair catch rate is horrible, return yards are high, net yards aren't great by any means. Snipe at each other all you want, but the smart move is to replace everyone's favorite punter if the new guy can do better.

Same site indicates that he led the league in guess what? Touchbacks. I really like him, too. I think he has been a good player and remains a good man, but like you and others, I think it's time for the Bills to move on if they can.

On top of that, as you said above, we've seen far too many touchbacks in the last two or three years. That has nothing to do with where a drive ended and everything to do with not punting for the coffin corner well.

I heard Mark Poloncarz speak yesterday, and someone in the audience asked about the lease. You are right on; he doesn't want any details leaking. But he did say this: Ralph Wilson is absolutely committed to a lease that will keep the Bills in Buffalo long-term, no matter who the future owner may be. According to Poloncarz, RW is very passionate about that particular point.

Very interesting exercise. It was between the receiver and the punter for me, and I went with the punter for reasons already stated by others. PTR, the kicker only works if you GET to the 42-yard line.

That's part of it, but what really solidified it were the years where both teams were good. That's never consistently happened between Boston/NE and Buffalo. Usually, at least one of the two teams is crappy at any given point. The late 80s and most of the 90s solidified the Buffalo-Miami rivalry. When I see a New England coach jumping up and down on a cereal box with a Bills player on it; when I see both teams repeatedly play each other with playoffs and/or playoff advancement on the line, I'll begin to think of it as a serious rivalry.

That's not what a rivalry is. That's a team running all over the Bills, sure.

The Bills' current biggest obstacle is New England. The biggest rival is and always will be Miami.
