Imagine if our defense played the first 3 quarters with the same pop we had in the 4th. The next step for this team will be to unlock the intensity earlier in the game, on both sides of the ball.

I may get flamed but, is Jackson better than Lynch?
GripnRip replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jackson is nowhere near the physically gifted runner that Marshawn is. Jacksons success running the ball in relation to Lynch is partially due to the fact he is on the field more in passing packages and is perceived as more of a passing threat. If Lynch was to get hurt and Jackson was given the load on 1st down vs 7 and 8 man fronts you would clearly be able to see the difference. Like many others have said though, who cares, they compliment each other great and we're making it work. -
I think the Lions are looking for a GM, you might fit right in.

He has bad grammar....so what. I think he is pretty decent commentator and is great on Sirius NFL Radio. If you need to hear grammatically precise color commentary find a different sport.

Two of these "horrible" plays were not all that bad and can pretty much be categorized as timing being off between Edwards and Hardy. Solomon ripped him for not making a play on that ball along the sideline, however Edwards was putting it towards the line and Hardy was looking for a jump ball - just made him look clueless. These things take time for ANY new QB/WR combo, especially when theyre as young as TE/JH.
-
WR has become just as hard for NFL rookies as QB's now. Ask ANYONE involved in NFL coaching or scouting and they will tell you the same. Hardy's "lack" of production has very little to do with anything except the overwhelming amount Hardy needs to learn and put into practice. It could be week 10 until we see ANY production from James Hardy outside the red-zone, and the words "bust" do not enter the mind of any educated football fan until next season.

People should be allowed to say whatever they want...In some circles people may find those type of insults funny and entertaining. If people feel differently(as I do), simply stop visiting the site. Jumping on a soapbox and crying about it is just as unamerican as 9/11 jokes.

I am strongly in favor of giving a pick or two for Gonzalez. First of all he provides a great veteran presence to a VERY young offense. This team is built on character and it seems gonzo would be a perfect fit in that regard. Secondly is the obvious production he provides in a position I'd consider to be our weakest on either side of the ball. With Roscoe being out for the next few weeks, the production increase Tony would give us is even greater. Most importantly, however, is the fact that Tony still warrants extra attention from defenses. Forcing the opposing defense to choose between doubling Evans or Gonzo is a scary proposition. We've never seen what Lee Evans is capable of in a situation where he is not the only legitimate down-field threat. Imagine an offense that has a top grade deep threat(Evans), a great possession TE to go underneath while still providing some big-play potential (Gonzo) and a red-zone giant(Hardy). You give Turk all this along w/ Jackson/Lynch coming out of the backfield and you have a very, VERY good offense. If the Chiefs have any brains they should certainly be shopping him around. They're at least 2-3 years away from being a good team and I can't imagine Gonzo wants to finish out his career in a rebuilding situation. I think trading off J.P. is probably too much of a gamble and I doubt the Chiefs have much interest in him. JP would be more of a "quick-fix", KC will be looking to the draft for their QB of the future. I would, however, happily give a 3rd/4th or even a 2nd/4th, something a team beginning the rebuilding process should definitely consider. The addition of Tony Gonzalez would solidify us as the top contender in a weaker than expected AFC.

Comcast.net writer sites in Power Rankings "Toronto Bills"
GripnRip replied to MClem06's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I got a similar reply: My Original: Omg the Toronto Bills!! Did you think of that yourself? That is such a smart little thing you did there I can't imagine how intelligent you must be to come up with such an original little jab. I can imagine how great your journalism skills must be because your creativity is through the roof! Response: im sensing a hint of sarcasm... the point of calling them toronto was to bring national attention to an issue that has been largely ignored (but hotly debated in your city). my concern is that if the bills make more money up in toronto, that gives them an excuse to move more games up there. and more games. until they just decide to move up there to 'internationalize' the game. and then the league loses some of the best and most passionate fans in the country. I'm feeling another seattle supersonics coming on, and that would be terrible for your city and the league. -

I guess it was a good "Joke" and somewhat funny when the first 50 journo's said it a few months ago. Now it's just old news and only used by writers who can't come up with any intelligent thoughts of their own about the Bills. -
Why it isn't wise to keep the demoted QB as Backup
GripnRip replied to billfan63's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Edwards was hurt and J.P. had to start sunday, you'd be seeing the same quotes about J.P. instead. Definitely looking way too deep into this. -
Mcfaddens when the bills win the super bowl:
-
He is a rookie wide receiver....what do you expect in week 3? WR is not a position where you can expect tons of production from a rookie, especially in week 3. It'll come be patient.

In Trent we trust! Let's hope this is a wake up call to our guys and we'll see no more lazy starts.

Bad things man....

So much for the new "code of conduct"...
GripnRip replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe the Bills can move their home games to the Opera House so everyone has to sit until the end. I can see all you pansies mumbling to your wives - "I swear I'm gonna say something...I'll do it....this is enough....ok Im sayin something". And then you come home and type up a useless rant on TBD. If you really have a problem with people standing in front of you the whole game, talk to the usher - it's as simple as that. -

Question about jersey i just ordered

I don't think giving him a half price Big Mac and free fries will help much with his problem. -
http://www.ibabuzz.com/raidersblog/2008/09...s-on-sidelines/ Will Mcfadden be wearing his boot when he runs all over us?

I'm sure if we need to we'll just stack 8 in the box and watch their terrible passing game fail.

Stupidest sh-- I have ever read. After reading it I actually like football a little less, knowing it provokes idiots to type things like this.

Bills vs. Jags Official Gameday Thread
GripnRip replied to justnzane's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1 deep ball and better tackling will win this for us. -
Key to this game is easy - win the line of scrimmage and exploit the jags o-line. The jags use their physical play to dominate the box on both sides of the ball. Their depleted o-line is a perfect weakness, that if exploited will grind their offense to a hault(just like vs ten). 10-14 points can win this one for us.
