Relax, it had to be done
BillsObserver replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Quit spewing your crap in this thread. You already started one with such doozies as "Lynch for a FIRST rounder would have been CRAZY!!!!" or "Lynch was the best player on this team." Yeah okay. Lynch playing for the Seahwawks won't mean a thing. Dude couldnt beat out Fred Jackson. The ONLY reason he played so much this year was because they were showcasing him - trying to increase his value. -
2nd worst move by the Bills in my lifetime

Why in the world would you think you could get ANYTHING for Trent let alone a draft pick? They shopped him, no one bit so they cut his ... -
2nd worst move by the Bills in my lifetime
BillsObserver replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the overreaction to this trade on this board is unreal. think about it - the original poster said it would have been CRAZY if we traded Lynch for a first rounder! And this genius proclaimed that Lynch was the BEST PLAYER on this team. LOL. the same player that couldnt get on the field last year and who was beat out by Fred Jackson. You guys really need to get a grip. Jackson is better than Lynch and CJ will be miles better than Lynch in the near future. I can't believe you guys fell in love in Lynch all over again just over a few games where they were showcasing him. -
It amazes me that you can't figure this stuff out. It's so freakin' simple. This move has really brought out the worst in a lot of Bills fans on this board.

Also the fact that Scott Piolo would never, ever come to Buffalo. He chose Kansas City. Hiring that experienced GM who was apart of a world class organization isn't nearly as easy as you make it out to be.

Before the season began, I subscribed to the theory, ya know the one that said "if Dick Jauron can win 7 games with this talent, Chan can surely match that if not win more." Err... guess that theory sucked. After today the only thing I can hope for is that it's all apart of their "plan." I've defended Nix and Gailey to my friends and have insisted this is apart of their long term plan (aside from the Kelsay contract decision) because that's literally the only way to defend them at this point. But is this really the plan? Bottoming out is what I am referring to. How else could you explain them switching the defensive scheme, not making any quarterback moves (other than drafting a guy in the 7th round and maybe that was done to bring SOMEONE different in and quiet the fan base a bit), drafting a running back/kick returner with your high 1st round pick, picking up the most penalized guy on one of the worst team's offensive line, and not making any solid acquisitions on the offensive line other than a 5th round draft pick. After watching today's game, there's no way they believed they could win a decent amount of games with this talent. And after hearing some of Nix's comments at that Bills Club meeting posted here a few weeks back, he seemed to imply that it might take a 2-14 season to turn things around. He mentioned that the Chargers had a similar poor season before they turned things around. I'm just starting to worry that this might have to be more than a few year plan because of the hideous drafting (in particular those chosen in the 1st few rounds) of the past few years. OTHER THOUGHTS: I asked this question in the shoutbox to little response. Was Maybin even in the game? And I'm not asking that sarcastically. I don't remember seeing his number at all. If not, is this benching a punishment because of lack of production? How do you go from playing the most snaps in your career (v. New England) to potentially very little in the next game? I could be wrong though, maybe he played just as many snaps and just didn't make any plans but I don't recall seeing his number. Gonna echo the thought that's been repeated endlessly around here the past few weeks; the talent on this team looks more inferior by the week. Just thinking about the first round picks and their contributions to this team; Whitner, McKelvin, McCargo, Maybin, and the list goes on. Your franchise is in deep trouble when you miss on so many picks. How did this happen? Even a dude on this board reading Mel Kiper's draft guide could have better luck than our previous "GM's" have had. Might sound ridiculous but I'd like to see Astrobot's (the guy who automates everything based on needs and availability, right?) mock draft picks for the past few years. Maybe that stink too but I'm just curious. Throwing Brohm into the fire late in the game would have been a mistake. The O-line was getting tossed around and killing Brohm's confidence would have been a stupid move. You know he would have got rocked a few times, right? Best thing to do if you plan on playing Brohm is letting him start a game and give him a week's worth of preparation. David Nelson had a few nice gains. Hope he becomes a player for this team. Steve Johnson too, although his came mostly in garbage time. No comment on Lee Evans who looks like a guy who has checked out and is absolutely miserable being on this team. If Peyton Manning or Drew Brees or Tom Brady were behind this offensive line today, would it have made a difference? Sure, maybe a few more first downs but honestly, how much of a difference would it have made???

Mitchell asked to be released
BillsObserver replied to Coach Klein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Big deal. At this point in his career he has lost about 3 steps. They probably weren't moving forward with him anyway -
This week is gonna be ugly
BillsObserver replied to Jimmy Spagnola's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's just a really dumb Jets fan who doesn't have a good grasp of the English language. Oh whoops, I meant welcome to the board. And too bad your story wasn't funny at all -
probably right. earlier in the game, despite playing from behind, he was totally calm and effective. i gave him a pass for the first one due to his good play but the 2nd one really disappointed me. we had time to drive. we didnt HAVE to throw in that spot. could have run a screen or something easy to calm fitz down.
-
hey now! my boy stevie got some redemption wasn't a fan of the celebration/penalty either
-
yep it was between buffalo and miami and at the time miami's scheme fit him better plus... it was miami. too bad. i was all about signing this guy but it didn't happen. we could use him. better than maybin (ain't sayin much)
-
one thing i noticed about fitz' first pick is he was looking off a corner and once he turned to throw to roscoe, it was almost TOO quick, like he hardly looked and just threw it in the direction of roscoe which is why it floated on him. when he is looking at his receiver, he is usually pretty accurate. but in the nfl, you need to look off receivers and make that quick throw, which he seems to struggle with.
-
i need to invent some accuracy machine that allows a qb to throw at it all day and grades them day to day. once i do, we will finally have our franchise qb if only fitz could improve his accuracy, he'd be a good qb. so smart, often makes the right decision, good toughness and heart on the guy and the players rally around him to boot.

"Dammit Trent, I was comfortable on the bench!"

A Bold Prediction Concerning the QB's
BillsObserver replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
yes, actually i do. the dude had momentum and confidence in the pre-season and he's the type of guy who needs those 2 intangibles to be successful and without those 2, he's an absolute joke. but ive thought about it - mostly after the first game. that single incompletion deflated that pre-season momentum he had and he went RIGHT back to being the 09' trent. but thats the difference between a good nfl qb and a guy like him. he just doesnt have the demeanor needed among many other things. -
ya know what - i know we're likely to get our behinds kicked in today and it could get ugly but... im still excited for the game. GO BILLS!

Im enjoying watching LUCK on ESPN right now. He's looked good so far in the first half.
-
Wow. Looks like his run in Buffalo may be over. 2 serious injuries..

Great post. Exactly how I feel. The boys will be fired up by game time.

Well - I enjoyed the article at least. GO BILLS!

Gregg Williams' Hair...............
BillsObserver replied to cåblelady's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No doubt. Some guys are just better coordinators than head coaches and will always be that way, as is the case with Gregg. -
lol yeah the only 2 recent examples in bills history, and i use the term recent loosely c'mon man
