  1. You have TPS on ignore? You're going to miss 1/2 of some epic monetary policy discussions between him & GG. TPS is definitely one of our sane lefties and typically brings good discussion to the table.
  2. Yep. Either he's lying now (w/out fear of perjury) or he was lying when he testified earlier (under threat of perjury). Hmmm, which is more plausible?
  3. Amazing how someone so self absorbed can hold so little self awareness.
  4. RIP Mrs. 41.
  5. Conventional wisdom, but unless this case is absolutely airtight, could really see going after those people & 44 leading to a civil war. Could happen even if the case is absolutely airtight due to "fake news" syndrome. Here in the land of former Rep Slaughter there are many people still absolutely enraged about "Russian collusion" & treason; and they aren't referring to the people that paid for the dossier when they talk about those subjects. Have to believe the people in your area code are even more invested in that viewpoint. To see theinvestigations go forward, much less charges being brought, will be viewed as a coup itself. DR, REALLY hoping that either (or better yet both) of your suppositions hold - that Mueller'sinvestigaion exonerates 45 & comes down on the Podestas & friends (on both sides of the aisle) or that NK & Iran are both out of the "Axis of Evil in the reasonably near future. It seems the IG & others have their act together. Hope that's the case. If not, this will be a long, ugly winter come December-ish.
  6. To the bolded, the better stated part was that ultimately it is up to the people of the Middle East to get the region in order.
  7. Interesting that 45 specifically called out Russia for not keeping Assad in check. Also interesting the comment that (paraphrasing here) in time Russia & maybe Iran could become friends of the US, or maybe not.
  8. There also isn't the same degree of "skin in the game" for those negotiating on behalf of the tax payers as there is for those negotiating for management/ownership in the private sector. Not only can the fear of "company" collapse not be present should too much be conceded to the union, but There can actually be incentive for those negotiating for the tax payer to favor the position of those they are across the table from.
  9. Let's hope. Amazing how much the landscape appears to be changing.
  10. If you are correct on this one, that is about the biggest bait & switch ever. (Far bigger than going after Manafort being about the Podestas. IMHO)
  11. While theoretically such a proposal might increase the representation of individuals, really don't see it doing that effectively. Would expect a couple of the unintended consequences being that for issues that aren't strongly advocated by special interests that gridlock would increase (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) and for those issues that special interests do hold dear, the big guys now have an even greater advantage as they have the resources to lobby the larger # of Congresscritters now required to pass legislation.
  12. FYI Florida & NY currently have the exact same representation in the EC.
  13. But wouldn't waiting until US troops are actually gone be a BETTER hedge against the US reversing policy & provide a better opportunity to kill a few dozen enemies?
  14. You have continually avoided the elephant in the room regarding this, whichis large states will see their representation increase to a greater degree than the states w/ 1 Congresscritter. Thisis a HUGE matter, and you continue to pretend you don't support that element of it. This would move the country closer to your stated goal of eliminating the EC and is a total non-starter. The fact that a 1,000+ member body will necessarily be unwieldly simply make this idea impractical in addition to being a non-starter w/ the western non-coastal states.
  15. Holy cow, you really truly believe the people reading what you write are dumber than tree stumps. You are the most disingenuous poster that's been on this board in a very long time; which is quite an accomplishment. You are not being "thoughtful;" you are exhibiting your duplicitousness. And if you truly believe that doubling or tripling the membership in the HoR will increase its effectiveness, then you are demonstrating that you've never been on a committee nor a BoD.
  16. Good job of TOTALLY ignoring the question that was asked of you.
  17. This proposal wouldn't have ANYTHING to do w/ a desire to alter the, presumably unfair in your eyes, balance between the large & small states representation in the Electoral College now would it?
  18. Yeah. Some of the other stuff they complain about may have merit, but really find it hard to complain about giving him a 24/7 security detail.
  19. Not sure about that, but it does explain Gator speaking Potatohead all these years.
  20. On your own property, you do have a right to drive a car. On public land, such as public roads & highways, people are granted the PRIVILEGE of driving. There is a difference between a right & a privilege.
  21. True. But from his perspective is it? Things keep going forward like they appear, he'll be forced to think for himself soon. That CAN'T be good. And is probably even a little scary too.
  22. That's not the hypocritical part of the story. The hypocritical part is where she wrote him a recommendation letter after forcing him out for cause & signing an NDA to not disclose why he left.
  23. Why should that matter? She was very big on giving verbal support to the #metoo movement. Andisn't that what REALLY matters? What people SAY is far more important than what they DO.
  24. The President stated on March 20 "... The call had to do also with the fact that we will probably get together in the not too distant future." As this is now breathless breaking newsit appears that not one single reporter asked him where & when this would happen. Can't be bothered to worry about insignificant stuff like that when there are important matters such as decade old affairs to report on.
  25. It's hard to win in the NFL anywhere that you don't know what you're doing.
