I think we've all been wanting to get 40 carries a game since the start of the season. Hopefully the coaches have gotten some sense knocked into them this week.

I am also a rockpile season ticket holder... I love it there! Rockpilers unite!

I think this is all funny really... for weeks it's been "put Holcomb in" posts and now that Holcomb's in, it's "what are they doing? They can't bench JP!" People need to really make up their minds. I for one don't like this move, but lets see how game five plays out before anyone panics.

I just think he should have gotten a chance to play Miami at home. Bench him after the first quarter if things don't go well. I mean, looking at the schedule, we've got the Pats and the Bengals and lots of good teams we need to face, why not bench him later for those tougher games? This is one of the easiest left (not that it will be easy either, just in comparison). We're going to put him back in to get chewed out by a world champion team?

I totally agree with this whole post. I think JP has been progressing and until the rest of the team steps up and decides to play, what is the point of benching him? I mean if the D was playing like the football gods they were claiming to be at the beginning of the season and our OL could block and our coaches could COACH, and we were still losing, by all means, remove JP. But I personally don't think it's fair to remove JP from a struggling team when he's not the only one struggling. JMO. As for the timing... I can't believe it was announced already that Holcomb was starting. Way to give prep time to the Dolphins. Maybe the Bills are playing mind games and will start JP anyways. I think they should start JP and see what he does. If he's not producing at the end of the first quarter, bench him then and see if Holcomb can actually do anything this time. I don't understand why JP doesn't even get a chance.

I'm all for it... except for the breaking the leg part. I don't wish physical harm on Holcomb... especially that bad. How about a pulled hammie or a stubbed toe?

OMG... I laughed when I saw the fumbled snap last weekend... I thought it was hilarious that Holcomb couldn't do any better than Losman, especially considering his stats going in. I have a REALLY bad feeling about this game now. I hope I'm proved wrong because as much as I'm hating the coaching, I still want the Bills to win. But Holcomb really makes me nervous.

because he's been there done that. He's used to the game enough so that he can play in poor circumstances. It's hard to throw a young QB into that and expect them to do that well... ALA JP. A little better protection/ pass blocking could prolly help out alot...

great post... I totally agree... I didn't like having Bledsoe here at all... and wanted him gone as much as anyone else, but I didn't think he was all our problems either. I'm very glad he went to Dallas and is doing well again... As for JP, I wanted him to have the chance to play this year, but was desperately hoping the Bills would do something with their OL before this year started.

In all honesty, I don't think Drew cares really. He needed to leave Buffalo, it wasn't a good team for him to be on, which is apparent since he seems to be doing better in Dallas. So good for him. But of course... i'm sure there's a tiny part of him who's jumping for joy that JP, the guy that took his job, is not doing particularly well. But i'd like to think he's just happy that he's moved on to a team more complimentary to him...

Agreed... if everyone's bashing JP so bad, why not the defense?

At least it's optimistic... JP DID manage to get the ball moving a little better vs the Falcons than with Tampa... Then again, when it comes to the Bills, I'm always a hopeless optimist.

We did a little bit against Atlanta... but he was rather inaccurate in those passes... Which is making people upset. I say take the chance a few more times with those passes, let JP get used to throwing in the NFL and then judge him Also, wasn't everyone complaining only a few weeks ago that we never let JP go deep? Well now he's trying, so everyone needs to just deal with it.

I wouldn't completely rule us out yet, but I agree it doesn't look good for us right now... but last year everyone wanted to end the season after game four... we were doomed, it was over, what was the point? Then we made a play off push... So you never know. Weirder things have happened.

I'm with you on this one... JP didn't play well, but he did his part. He got the offense down the field to get some field goals and a touch down, he kept the team scoring. However, the defense also kept the team scoring, except that it was the OTHER team... I think it's just easier to call out JP and blame him for all our troubles than to call out the whole defense. If our defense is the best in the NFL, they are sure doing a great job of hiding it.

It sucks that he went down and I feel for him... I tore my achilles tendon at gymnastic Nationals one year on my first vault... it was the most god awful thing in the world and I just wanted to cut my lower leg off cuz it hurt so bad (and I have insanely high pain tolerance) ... I was in a cast for months and unable to do anything more than walking for a long time after I was out of the cast because it was just so painful and hard to get the flexibility back in your ankle. Hopefully the damage isn't too crazy and that they come up with a good rehab program after wards. I'm a better gymnast now than I was before the injury, so hopefully Spikes will come bouncing back from his next year.

I just don't get it either and it is SO OBVIOUS that if Willis goes out and Shaud is in, that we are going to throw, especially on third down. I really like Shaud, I think he's a great back up, however, I don't know if I'd wanna count on him for every third down... I'd feel alot better if WM were out there... But apparently MM has other plans for this

I didn't and I'm still sticking with that plan for awhile... JP's doing his part... he's starting to throw more (which was a huge complaint for awhile- that he wasn't getting a chance to throw the ball) even if they suck, it'll take some practice and he doesn't run every single play so he seems slightly more comfortable out there. I think he progressing slowly, even if the numbers don't show it. The rest of the team was supposed to help him out, which they are not. We've got an OL that doesn't know how to block half the time, a special teams that is only playing average, and a defense whose heads got so big they thought they were God's gift to football, only to be shut down drive after drive. How can JP be expected to excel as a rookie when his team just isn't helping him out?

I completely agree with that statement... JP is the better quarterback on our roster... I am not going to defend him and say that he hasn't pretty much sucked in these games... but I ddn't expect him to come out like Big Ben did... he doesn't have the OL for that. He's a rookie quarterback coming out at a time when rookie quarterbacks have happened to kick butt... but the majority of them normally don't excel to a high level their first season. If JP continues to struggle (which I hope not cuz he as so much potential) then we can start thinking about other options... but this season WAS dedicated to making him our starter... let's stay with the game plan longer.

That's an amazing statement... I think I'm a little too tired because I got a major kick out of that one.

That's mostly what I'm banking on for this weekend. If Vick plays I'm praying he's not going to be as agile and mobile, that he's either going to baby his leg or he's going to really be in pain... one good hit from our D if he does scramble could do him some good... I know that'd pump up the crowd to see Vick get sacked or tackled and hopefully get everyone playing a better game... But we'll see...

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I LOVE Danny's!!!!! And I'll be at the game... sitting in the Rockpile!!!
