  1. For my 2 cents, the screen/swing pass to McGahee (mis-direction play) looked bad right from the beginning. Within a half second after the snap, Bledsoe swung his head over to McGahee (telling the world what was coming), then threw a high ball that (after thorough review of the tape) McGahee leaped for but the ball went through his hands and was then tipped by the defender into the air. Those high throws always remind me of the Johnson high throw that effectively ended Thurman's career with Buffalo. That was on 80% on Bledsoe, and 20% on McGahee. Deion's 1st pick, 100% on Bledsoe. Terrible throw/decision. Nuff said. Sadly, the very play before Moulds had a TD catch in his hands and couldn't pull it in. That was the second time Moulds had a TD had he been able to pull in the tough catch. Moulds had 12 points go right off his fingers today. Those are plays we need him to make. The third pick was a tipped ball by Evans (right on his hands with very tight coverage by Lewis, probably interference). If Evans makes that catch, it's a TD (another 6 points left out there on the field). Fourth pick, a bit high bit definitely a catchable ball that Moulds let slip right thru his hands. Yeah maybe Beldsoes deserves the razing he's getting, but when Eric stated he took this loss on himself, he is stating the truth. Despite some decent catches, Eric was not good today. We left three scores out there on the field today and that was the game. As for our much abused O-line, they sucked today too.
  2. Maybe Willis isn't the second coming yet, but for his first start, he played very well, and when the chips were on the line, he stepped it up in the 4th quarter, and that's where you want your RB to shine most of all. Travis has had some very good rushing days, but last Sunday's performance by Willis was as complete of a game by a Bills RB since we last saw Thermal. I'm very encouraged by what I've seen of Willis to date and I wasn't very happy when he was drafted. This guy has a chance of being something special.
  3. Very solid, save the couple bonehead penalties.
  4. I have to agree. When the hole closed up, Willis bounced it elsewhere, and managed to gain some real tough yards out there today. Miami sucks, but not their "D". Henry is a beast, but Willis seems to have better instincts based off of his limited action this year, and of course, today's game. Maybe the best way to look at it is Willis seems to have the better vision of the two. Glad to have them both though.
  5. I wanted to say that, but I didn't as there are many Hockey fans here that I didn't wish to inflame. The NHL, owners and players, have all combined to make themselves insignificant in this fans eyes. Shame too as it could be great.
  6. Whether or not Willis gets 15 carries or not, it sure seems to be the time to give him more playing time. If he's physically capable, today would be a good time to let him rip a bit. Let's see what he's got.
  7. As much as I wish it weren't true, Reed has played himself out of the number 2 WR and should be relegated to the slot period. He just doesn't seem to have the ability to beat a CB. In his rookie year, he seemed to be able to work the middle from the slot effectively so this should be where he gets his last chance.
  8. Sorry, but I must ask......was that lobotomy painfull?
  9. You sure do let your mouth issue a lot of checks that your rear (Cardinals) may not be able to cash. If they don't win it all, you're going to be in for rough time for quite a while. Your incessant ranting on the Cards reminds me of those Colts backers from SBIII and the 69 Oriole backers. Also. you show one glaring flaw over and over. Like them or not, no professional sports team is even close to the Yanks in World Championships. One would need to have had a full frontal lobotomy to refuse to see, accept, and acknowledge this simple fact. History is far more than a team"s 2004 accomplishments. 39 Pennants, 26 World Championships.
  10. I'll second that. While he may be serviceable, I'm growing tired of serviceable. It would nice to see some talent. Jennings is talented, albeit far to injury prone for my tastes. I still would hate to see him leave though.
  11. Bottom line is that we have suffered mightly from some very bad calls against us. They definitely contributed to our teams woes. To deny it , is to say "I'm blind". Yet, we also see that this team isn't good enough to overcome them. Disasterous plays at key times (Bledsoe bootleg? Henry's inability to run without slipping and stumbling, dropped passes by every WR, TE, and RB on the team, key defensive breakdowns, insufficient pass rush, and absolutely stupid penalties, etc....) bother me much more than the blown calls by the refs. Our Bills need to quit shooting themselves in the foot first. I'll ask again, on our final drive, what did we do to stop the blitz from Harrison? Absolutely nothing. We let him come free 4-5 times in a row without even touching him. That's stupid. There seems to be a lot of questioning of the players "game smarts" of late, even by OBD, but what about the coaches too? No challenge against the Faiders? There's a seven point swing in that game right there. Of course, that was helped by another of Henry's "slips". Reality is that our problems are with everything and we haven't been good enough to overcome anything so far. This could be a good team, if the dumb mistakes and lapses in concentration and poise would cease.
  12. Can't say I've had that problem and I've used the Dell credit 4-5 times already for various items including tow PC's. Never had a problem. I pay the full amount when the bill arrives and then I don't hear from them again til the next purchase.
  13. Sums up the game pretty darned well. While I don't absolve Bledsoe completely, Moulds, Henry, and Wire sure found ways to blow big play at the worst possible times. That trip Henry took when Villerial and Williams had created a very nice hole really pissed me off. Hadn't he slipped at the goal line against the Faiders, he would have been in for a score that couldn't have been questioned. He also has gone the wrong way on passing routes, and missed handoffs. Henry's not the brightest guy, but right now, he just looks plain stupid. He's got to stop making these huge mistakes.
  14. As long as they had the threat of a run coming at them, the Pats "D" line and backers were held at bay, but once we were forced at the end to go to the pass, they came hard and destroyed the O-line. How many times were we going to let Harrison come free inside the tackles and have a free run at Bledsoe. That he was able to complete any passes at the end was nothing short of a miracle. In obvious pass situations, with both Teague and Jennings out, we were dead in the water. Price barely does an adequate job at RT, and simply stinks at LT. Jennings is truly our best pass blocker, and actually is a good one in this dept period. I hate to say it, but between all the dumb penalties (another first down run on 3rd & short called back for holding - argh!) and Bledsoe still showing inaccurate throws too often, coupled with him and Moulds being out of sync twice (how can that be at this point?), we just didn't take advantage of the opportunities we had. While Bledsoe really is pissing everyone off, it's tough to hold him totally accountable when there seems to be one or two guys getting free runs at him far too often, especially on every key pass.
  15. When you put forth the effort, you make some good points, but with you one never knows who your getting. No one is all over the map as much as you can be. And while I agree about the incessant flaming around here relative to how it brings this board down, ICE, look in the mirror, you are one of the biggest flamers on this board. You insult virtually anyone who crosses your path, name calling, coded and blatant profanity, and now you're pointing out (in general) everyone else's character flaws. Pot & kettle, Pot & Kettle. As for the playing of JPL, I agree, but if by some miracle Bledsoe rediscovers the fountain of youth and begins to play like a real QB with positive results (wins), it won't happen. However, from the looks of his first couple of games, he just might find himself holding the clip board again for his understudy before too long. In a losing season, his job is tenuous at best. A few wins and this is all moot.
  16. Why "float" a check anyway? Major Credit cards already give you a 20-25 day "float" anyway. I agree with the pulling out the check book at a store, or the like. Drives me crazy too. I guess I'm just impatient though.
  17. That the pressure is coming from the outside is no surprise, that's where the bulk of pressure comes from all across the league. Last I recall, the greatest pass rushers the game has produced are DE's and a few LB's (blitzes or edge rushers - recall Paup's big year? Outside rushes). With that said, Williams surely needs to pick his game up a notch, and there does seem to be clear evidence that his heart isn't in the game at this point. I fear he;ll pull a Ricky and just pack it in in a couple years and waste that god given talent all together leaving us high and dry. Here's to hoping he decides football is what he wants to excel at and do for as long as he can, but so far his actions are not supporting this hope.
  18. I too have been saying the same thing, except I've called Shelton anything but a bruiser. He hasn't shown me that. In fact, he looks very shaky in the pass game (blocking and catching, routes, etc). After the past couple games, from what I saw, he should be lucky if he's still on the roster by game 9 (giving him half a season). Any idea where Lawton has gone?
  19. Give it a Thursday afternoon listen....(sorry if someone else has posted this before). Frankie
  20. Well said. I still recall the beatings Kelly took against Pittsburg on Monday night the last years of his career. Those games alone must have taken a year off his career. I also recall how he was in the face of his O-line all night, but it made no difference. Our line has been bad since the early 90's and all the bench fodder that's been used to make a line afterward has led to the downward spiral. This began under Levy and has just continued year after year.
  21. Fond of Travis, are ya? One thing Travis seems to have around the league is respect for his running, even if you refuse to give him any. Yet, I must agree that his pass catching skills are average at best, and his blocking (blitz pickup) is a serious detriment to the team. While his "official" fumbles may read zero, every time he takes a hit, I hold my breath for a split second watching for the ball ro come loose. He's a tough runner, but seems to lack vision. He's got great heart, but seems a bit short in the IQ area. What Travis is can be best described as one dimensional at this point. He takes a beating, behind an O-Line that clearly isn't the best, and has managed to rack up 2750 (approx) yards over the past two years. That isn't bad. I don't expect his game to change much either. What that said, I'm hopeful that McGahee can overcome the knee and show the potential he has as his skill set shows multiple areas of strength. He could be the real RB weapon we need. While of lesser note, what bothers me more about the RB-FB situation in Buffalo is that Lawton looked good in the preseason and was said to have had a good camp. yet we kept Shelton who I've yet see make a decent block. He whiffs on Blitz pick ups, and doesn't look like he'll offer much as an outlet receiver either. then theres Joe Burns, who must be a special teams maniac as his RB, and now FB, skills are non-existent. With Shaud Williams proving himself in camp and the preseason, I thought Burns would be history, but alas he must have pix of TD in a very embarassing light.
  22. I served in the Air Force back in the late 70's and was stationed at Patrick AFB (lived off base in Cocoa Beach). If I recall correctly, the base only averages around 6-9 feet above sea level. Here's to praying for everyone there (you too) stays safe.
  23. You just don't get it. Matthews has never been more than the second coming of Joe Dufek. As poorly as Bledsoe played last week, he's still the Bills best bet. Replace Bledsoe? Sure, but to do that you have to have some sort of option. Matthews is the anti-option. You may be ready to throw in the towel afetr two loses by a combined total of 6 points, but thank God the Bills Brass aren't. Unless the Bills re-coop, we may see Losman yet this year, late in the season. At least then it would be for the future.
  24. You've obviously never watched Matthews play. The best thing he could do for the Bills would be to continue carrying the clip board.
  25. Wow, an optimist !!!! GO BILLS !!!!
