  1. This was.... You must really hate Pyrite's loooooooong posts.
  2. OK, that does it. You're next.......... Ah, a voice of reason and wisdom. Not much of this going on around here of late. Thanks RR.
  3. Or better yet, any G.W. Bush Q&A....
  4. Clearly (and overtly obvious) the exception.
  5. Exactly, There was a time during Kelly's career that when teams lined up against the run, he'd pass. When they played the pass, he'd handoff play after play.
  6. That would be my guess....
  7. And that my friends will be the only way to accurately gauge this years draft., as it always has been, and always will be, although I would shorten the period to 3 years. Now that my "beer' haze and initial disappointed has faded, I will do the only thing we can and that is to give these picks a chance. I really wish we would have added more quality to our lines, FA & draft, but alas..... Had we managed to land Reggie Wells, I'd feel better about our O-line. Reyes, Gibson, Fowler? None of those guys strike fear into anyone's hearts. Even the much heralded McNally has yet to take a turd and make him serviceable. The only developing O-line guy we have is Peters to date, and we've not been able to get a contract extension with him so far. The rest....?
  8. It's sad to make one 1st round "reach", with so much at stake, but Marv has managed to make two reaches in round 1. While I still would have taken Ngata (or even Bunkley), trading down would have been better, had there been a mid 1st willing to trade. A year or two from now, we may sit back and regale in our happiness over this years draft, but I strongly doubt it. Marv stated in a PC shortly after his hire that the game is won and lost in the trenches. That seems so long ago now. I like both DB's we picked up so far, but we needed the big guys more.,....
  9. Bunkley and Justice would have been decent, although I still favored Ngata. With that said, we still would have had 2 - 3rds to go and so far, only our 3rd round pick seems to have been a good value....We lost the chance to pick up another early round, solid player.
  10. .....and for you, I've got this little piece of property in Florida that I'll let you have for a steal....
  11. We won't have this level of enthusiasm and optimism around here... What did we get? Another year of watching our defensive front line get pushed all over the field. Just stinking Great.
  12. 1.) Ngata 2.) Justice For starters.......... Plus, we could have still had both 3rds....maybe then pick McCargo, plus the DB we got in the third anyway. Yet....in the truest sense of Butler 2000, we LOST.
  13. This draft, with so many possibilities, has been totally wasted by a former HC who should have stayed retired...... Why do I keep hearing Jets fans laughing....... Marv - Go back to Chicago, sit by the lake, and learn to feed the birds. At all, that's who your first day picks were for anyway....
  14. I agree, and I will add that no matter how many years someone gives Young, he won't make it as a starting QB in the NFL.
  15. 200-300 Mil? Capital gains is now taxed at 15%, is it not. If I'm wrong, someone provide correct figures. And who's to say what the final gain would be ruled to be. Thats would make the taxes pretty small by many a standard. Inheritence taxes are the ones that still haven't been adjusted downward in a signficant way for estates over 1 mil, IIRC.
  16. I liked the fact that Everett was up to about 260. Then he was hit with a groin injury. Hope this guy can contribute.
  17. OUCH!!! Darn it, there should be a warning label attached to your avatar. Darned near poked my eyes out.....nice.....
  18. No, I'd find a quality player not named LenDale White (in agreement there), but do not trade down. Our Number 2 should garner a quality player and therefore KEEP it....
  19. Jeezie Pete....now that was one mean bag of wind.......What the heck was your point, I kept falling asleep trying to read your version of "War and Peace"... (trim it down....trim it down....) Now back to sleep.......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  20. My sentiments exactly. It would also save me the cost of the NFL Season ticket, DTV, annual trips to Buffalo to watch a game in person, and cost of Bills memorabilia, etc. The only thing football offers me these days is the Buffalo Bills. The money, the greed, both owner and player alike, has left me cold. And Ralph was initially called a doddering old fool for his reaction to the final vote on the new CBA..... Tagliabue doesn't deserve the privilege to be allowed to wash Rozelle's withering nuts.
  21. You seriously undervalued the play of Phat Pat, so much so that it brings to question anything else you had to say in your post. Vikings are sure glad to have him.
  22. I'm sorry, but a 5th, or even a 4th dopesn't compute. Didn't the McCardell deal grab a 3rd last year? A a 2nd or a 3rd (since Houston's 3rd is like a late 2nd - maybe). 4th or 5th? Let Moulds sit. The percentage of 3rd & 4ths ever amounting to anything is fairly small, with only a few exceptions. (McGee). Tell Houston to go away unless they pony up....
  23. Vince may make it, but it won't be because he's a prototypical QB. If he's not successful with his legs in the NFL, he be a wash out. His throwing mechanics are just plain piss poor. Vince Young will not ever be a top NFL QB.
