We lost this game for 1 reason.....
Spiderweb replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Earlier I was as pissed about a Bills loss as I have been since Drew shi.... the bed against Pittsburg in 2004. In reality, that is a good thing in that we actually have something to cheer about and get involved with. I see a lot of positives this year, and number one on that list is the play of JP Losman. A couple times today, I wish he'd have taken off and ran, but he's clearly been advised to limit that severely. What killed me was how poorly our D played in our own house. We need some tackles, and fast. In a game begging for a turnover we didn't get any and our D rarely pressure Young at all. I would have liked to try that kick, but that's a call that may have been futile as well, but we'll never know. What I didn't like was the play calling on those final downs, and the pressure Losman was under throughout most of the game. Maybe the o-line is improving, maybe not, but one thing is for certain, it can still use some help. Lastly Royal? He clearly won the goat of the day award. Penalty and a blown TD catch in the same series. What the hell was he thinking? -
Our run defense is absolutely pitiful. Cover 2, with smaller and more actyive tackles, the one piece of pablum we were feed by Levy this year. Frankly, I'm pissed. Alos, our pass o-line still stinks, period, How many time today diud JP drop back to pass and face immediate pressue, frequently up the middle? How many times did we pressure Young? My biggest fear is that Levy will do what he did the last 3-4 years of his tenure as HC, and that is to ignore the O-line. Don't forget, it was under Levy that we endured to likes of Jerry Crafts, Cobins Lacina, Jerry Ostroski, etc. It was also under Levy where we cut Smerlas and went with the quicker Jeff Wright, etc., and that didn't change much until Philips came to town and pushed for Ted Washington in FA. Love Levy, our skill players are in place (save TE), but we need LINES !!!!!!

The Top 10 Saddest Songs in the World
Spiderweb replied to Tux of Borg's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Holy crap, the exact three songs I was thinking of. Seasons in the Sun, about the loss of a daughter wasn't it? The Christmas song about new shoes for Mommy was just on over the weekend and that still brings tears to my eyes.... Chapin....What an insightful artist. He's been seriously missed............ -

A pass is earned on the "250" thing today due to the weather.... -
How would you evaluate Marv's off-season...
Spiderweb replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, Royal appears the be the most athletic TE we've had since McKeller. Yet, while Royal has been contributing lately, I still can't forget his droppsies earlier. For my money though, he stays and so does the kid Cieslak (spelling?). If Neufield makes the team next year I'll be real surprised, or maybe more than a bit disappointed, especially since the "kid" can also play H back.... Everett eithers shows something by the start of next season or it's goodbye to him to. -
Time To Bring Back Drew Bledsoe In 2007!

Humm....I recall early in TT's carrer when running to the right side behind a healthy John Davis (RG) and Howard Ballard (RT) would net 5 plus yards without a doubt. Sadly, John Davis played strongly only in 1990 and 2/3 of 1991 until his right knee was blown out. Ballard left via FA, and THEN came the likes of Parker. Far better than given credit for here in Buffalo, but never comparable to Davis and Ballard, both positions he was to play. John Davis came back, but was never the same animal he was before the injury. Paired with Ballard, they were awesome, even if only for 1 and 2/3 seasons. That was the last time I can remember the Bills having a O-line duo that could blow out anyone across for them. Hull was a great center, but not a mountain mover, like these guys were. Wolford and Ritcher on the left made our line then complete and frankly, top shelf.... Been a long time coming to see even relatively similar play....We're long overdue.

Exactly.....

Internet streams are pretty well controlled these days (NFL has worked hard....). Anyone going to do the chat room today?
-
Will be watching the NFL Sunday Ticket here...Approx 10.5 hours from Buffalo (newly relocated to Georgetown, IN from Dayton, OH).
-
Like the Bills maybe? Yet, that video sure brought back some memories of my youth...... One thing's for sure though, that stadium, memories excluded, was one crappy venue. The neighborhood was pretty nice though, Best St and all.

Anyone wanna get Peters to the pro bowl?

Speaking of old Travis, playing for the miserable Titans, he's run for over 700 plus and for 4.6 ypc...... Seems pretty decent.........

How are you gonna watch the game?
Spiderweb replied to camcool21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Will be watching from our living room, in our new home (recently relocated to Georgetown, IN - 20 miles from where I work in Louisville KY - UPS Brokeage), and best of all, on our new plasma TV (Panny)..... So far this combo is 1-0....let's make it 2-0... (Oh, and we will have a few cold ones available....) Go Bills. -
As said above, in an earlier reply, the questions were irrelevant to JP's task at hand. His responses were to that end. That's not quite cocky in my book. Yet, cocky, if you can back it up, quickly becomes self confident anyway.

I apologize for bring him up, but that's what I thought of when talk of signing Carol came up (and JD was once one of the fastest men in the league....but that was it).

J.D. Williams anyone?

Hummm, I've been a Bills Fan since the Championship loss to the Chief's for the AFL Championship and a trip to the first Super Bowl (not called that back then).....After that 1966 season, the Bill's tanked badly and by 1968, our top QB that year was the immortal Dan Darraugh.....after Kemp was hurt, Flores bad arm, Kay Stephenson, etc. The Dan went down and we had good old Eddie Rutkowski at QB to finishup a single win season. The single win was a 37-35 victory over the Super Bowl Champion Jets and Joe Willie Namath...... Better fan? Maybe not, but I do have some longevity on my side...

Based upon the 4 games we've seen so far, I think your seeing it. I am....

I think Volek showed loyalty to the Titans a few years back when he was an FA. Somewhere along the line, he and the Titans (who I think are really screwed up) fell out with each other. He's a heck of a lot better than Collins, and Young will be a huge bust IMHO. I watched a bit of the Titans-Chargers game this weekend and Young looked every bit as bad as that team. Weak arm, poor accuracy, just plain poor. I know a number of people around here wanted Young, but I thank God that we didn't get the chance...... Volek got screwed by the Titans, plain and simple......
