.........and Dallas, not deep in RB's, chose to let him go? If I was Seattle, RB would still be a position I'm worried abot.

Jared Allen, DE to be traded to Vikings
Spiderweb replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A number of years back, Minny paid a steep price to get Herschel Walker from Dallas, and that ended up being a horrible trade for them. This could also backfire on them as well. As for Kansas City, Peterson (GM) and Edwards (HC) are both little more than jokes these days. How hard they have fallen. -
The Cardinals stink, year after year and yet it's clear the reason is purely $$$. The past few years, there's been what seems to be a number of contracts that get re-negotiated that in years gone by never would have been. It's getting ridiculous. Too many teams are setting bad precedents for the future. Guys are traded, contracts torn up, guy are unhappy, contracts are extended with big signing bonuses, etc. The contract he has looked pretty good to him when he signed it, didn't it? Unless the NFL somehow can regain some sanity with regard to contracts, beginning with top 5-10 rookies, etc., they're going to leave this fan in the dust. The money has gotten insane.

............and once we get the Pac Man inked, we can turn our attention to Hannibal Lecter. He's one heck of a "special teams" guy.... JUST SAY NO TO PAC MAN JONES !!!!

How about Harold Carmichael, four time pro-bowler. His catch numbers were huge by todays standards, but the era he played wasn't so wide open and the Eagles had some bad teams until 1978-79 after Jaworski and Vermeil had been there a few years. Carmichael was 6'8"

Lofton's contributions to the Bills were solid in 1990 and 1991, but by 1992 he developed a nasty habit of dropping balls and seemed to be using his body to make the catch more than with his hands. Played for the Eagles in 1993 and he continued to drop a high percentage of throw. It was actually sad to watch the former great WR turn into an also ran. Yet, even at age 36 he seemed to still know how to get opn and may have been able to play longer, had the droppsies not taken over his game. Sure liked him alot in 1991 though, especially in the Cincinnati game where he beat up the corner playing against him so bad that Wyche, the "then" HC of Cinci, ran all the way to the end zone to protest a long TD grab by Lofton, who just smiled as he left the field.

Cincy, did someone give you a hard time today? Barry was a great player, a decent and soft spoken person. When he retired, a huge group of folks thought he was merely trying to force a trade. He simply lost his desire to continue. The Lions can do that to a player. I would tend to lean heavily towards Barry simply being great, all around. In fact, I don't recall any of his teammates having any problem with Barry either. So, bad day?

What is the Bills schedule to you?

If the Bills Keep Losman....We will go NOWHERE.
Spiderweb replied to Billsfanfourlife's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As said before, TE still has yet to prove he's the guy. He has some things he appears to be better at, but the long ball isn't one of them, and the stats say JP is also the better of the two with the check downs, believe it or not. Personally, I'd like them to keep JP unless they can get a second rounder (minimum or similar value) for him. TE has a strange throwing motion and I believe that may hamper his long ball more than we'd care to admit. -
Greenbay intrested in Losman?
Spiderweb replied to CarolinaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Time will tell. If there's been any interest in JP, it's been very low key and the Bills are being very tight lipped about the whole deal. I suspect there's ben passing interest and it there is any real interest, something will happen either on draft day, or just after. If not, JP may be in for an awakening about his marketability. -

That would mean that Faulk would have to know how to write, but beyond the "x" he signs for his paycheck, he's a bit challenged. -
You've been a Bills fan for too long if...
Spiderweb replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Talk about a year full of futility, 1968. Mini Max Anderson....remember him? QB injury carousel, Budding County Exec playing QB, and our only win came against the Jets when The Bills picked off 5 or6 Joe Namath throws, with Janik returning a couple of those for scores if I recall correctly. Note: Jets went on to beat Baltimore in SB III to finish that season.... -
Bengals WR Chris Henry arrested

Didn't Goodell warn him last year that his suspension was his last chance? -
Ah, ther old "Avanti"....I recall as a very young lad heading up to Delaware Ave in Kenmore and getting the brochures from the Studebaker dealer for the Avanti. They closed the dealership sometime in the early 60's. We also went up the street to hit the Chevy dealer (Lou Awald) and then the Ford dealership. Good times.....loved when the new cars came out and we went to see them.

Shouman will make the team as a ST and TE if he makes it, period. I believe the H-back experiments are over. Yet, in his brief time last year, he looked like a player and may surprise.

Anyone know what the holdup is with re-signing Evans?
Spiderweb replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
$$$$, Evans (does he want to stay?), and his agent.... My gut tells me he's readying himself to move on. I hope not, but that's what it looks like to me. -
Kelsay hasn't even outplayed a healthy Denny and probably shouldn't even be the starter. I must admit my bias though as Kelsay just doesn't impress me, at least not yet. Maybe this will be his year though. We'll see..............

should we have signed bryant johnson
Spiderweb replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Johnson decided to roll the dice and by signing only a one year deal, he'll get to do the same thing next year. It's obvious that he (his agent?) played their hand in hopes of a big payday next year. One must wonder though as to why he went to the 49ers, being that they're currently suffering from their own QB issues and a putrid offense as well. Seems he didn't exactly end up in a good place to showcase his talents, which clearly was all he was willing to accept (unless some fool was willing to fork over big bucks). Sadly for him, there is only one Oakland and Al "I'm senile" Davis.... -
Why are we high on Ko Simpson?
Spiderweb replied to 2020 Our Year For Sure's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In his day, he was a good CB, BUT there were oh so may times he had been granted hands our maker. Absolutely the worst hands I've ever seen. Had he had hands, he could have been a big time star for Buffalo.
